K. A. Ellis holds an MFA from Yale University and a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, and is a doctoral candidate at Oxford Center for Mission Studies in Oxford, England. She speaks and writes on the theology of human rights, African-American culture, understanding Islam, and the persecuted church.
