First we discuss Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), the sci-fi comedy where a group of friends accidentally travel back to the 1980s and get the chance to relive a pivotal moment from their youth.
Then we look at Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), the indie sci-fi film about a mysterious classified advertisement seeking a partner for a time-travel mission.
Together these films show how time travel can be used for everything from outrageous comedy to intimate character-driven storytelling.
