How do you develop these essential PowerSkills in business? As I describe in this podcast, there are four methods: traditional instructor-led training, 360-degree assessment and coaching, simulation and real-world experiences, and suggestions and nudges. Mark Atkinson, the CEO of Mursion, a fast-growing provider of Avatar-based simulation training, interviewed me on this topic and we talked about a lot.

This is a long podcast but it describes PowerSkills, discusses why experiential learning and practices is important, reviews the Ebbinghouse Forgetting Curve, and discusses the role of the Metaverse in leadership development. It’s a far-reaching conversation and I hope it helps you think through your own PowerSkills (SoftSkills), parenting, how the military teaches important skills, and the role of the Metaverse in leadership development strategies. We also had a long conversation about the need to protect data as we move to more virtual experiences.
