Productivity is the key to solving retention problems. If you can get your team members productive, you can increase their likelihood of staying with your organization. But how do we achieve greater productivity? According to trends in the market, many individuals are gravitating back to old school tactics and basics. This means focusing on building relationships through conversation and deepening connections, especially in higher price points. However, while these tactics may work well on the front end, the real challenge lies in follow-up. Many team members are focused on "hunting and killing" rather than nurturing and farming, which can lead to a lack of consistent follow up. How can we master the follow up and ensure that we're being intentional with our productivity strategy? It all starts with taking accountability and recognizing that we are in complete control of our follow up efforts. One common misconception is that there is such a thing as too much follow-up. However, this is not necessarily true. While bombarding someone with emails or messages is not advisable, a consistent and intentional follow-up approach can make all the difference. Additionally, technology such as AI can also play a role in streamlining follow up efforts and making them more effective. By leveraging tools like automated messaging and data analytics, we can gain insights into our follow up efforts and make adjustments as needed. Being intentional with our productivity strategy means recognizing the Shiny Object Syndrome and focusing on solving specific problems. It means building relationships through conversation and following up consistently and intentionally. And it means leveraging technology to streamline our efforts and gain insights into what works best. By doing so, we can achieve greater productivity and success in our personal and professional lives.
