Show Notes
Julia Nzimande honors her father, Nyakane Tsolo, at Sharpevilles massacre site, marking sixty-six years since the tragic event. Tsolo, a Pan Africanist Congress leader, was detained before the shooting and later fled to Lesotho, training with Egyptian forces and studying in East Germany. He met his wife, Gladys, another fighter, and they built a family in exile. After returning during the early nineties negotiations, Tsolo passed away in two thousand two. Julia keeps his memory alive, reminding us of the personal costs behind South Africas freedom.
