Ep 568Trump Blasts Schumer as Shutdown Showdown Heats Up | Bible Sales Surge After Charlie Kirk Assassination (Ep 566)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson President Trump slams Senate Democrats over government shutdown; Turning Point USA Faith reports explosive growth after Charlie Kirk's assassination. Bible sales hit record highs. Updates on the Israel-Hamas ceasefire and more. Block 1: Trump Accuses Schumer of Holding Government Hostage President Donald Trump isn't mincing words: Senate Democrats, led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, are to blame for the ongoing government shutdown. Now entering its third week, the shutdown centers on Senate Democrats refusing to pass a clean continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded. Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, Trump declared, "Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats need to vote for the clean, bipartisan CR and reopen our government." Trump’s frustration was palpable. He accused Schumer and his allies of political extortion, saying, "We will not be extorted on this crazy plot of theirs." Trump reminded Americans of the booming economy, reduced inflation, and surging investment. "In the greatest moment in the history of our country... these guys go on strike," he said. "It’s really a shame." The president tied the Democrats' actions to their increasingly radical base, joking, "He’s even losing to AOC plus three," referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other progressive Democrats. Trump vowed to hold the line and urged Americans to demand accountability, closing with, "We don’t need ransom politics. We need responsible governance." Block 2: Turning Point USA Faith Surges After Charlie Kirk's Assassination In the wake of Charlie Kirk's tragic assassination, Turning Point USA Faith has seen unprecedented growth. The organization’s church network has doubled in size in just a few weeks, jumping from 4,000 to 8,000 churches. Over 200,000 new believers have engaged with TPUSA Faith since Kirk’s death. On social media, engagement has surged over 1,000%, signaling a revival movement that many see as divinely inspired. Spokesman Andrew Kolvet described the moment as "revival-like," saying Kirk’s message has reawakened faith across the country. "We’re seeing families come back to church. People are praying again." TPUSA Faith has ramped up its outreach with online devotionals, prayer groups, and pastoral resources. "This is a movement built on faith and freedom," Kolvet said. "Charlie’s legacy is fueling a nationwide revival." Block 3: Bible Sales Skyrocket After Tragedy According to the Wall Street Journal, Bible sales in the U.S. soared in September following Kirk’s assassination. Retail data from Circana BookScan revealed 2.4 million Bibles sold—a 36% increase compared to the same period in 2024. It marked the highest-selling month for Bibles this year, confirming a national spiritual awakening in the face of tragedy. "There’s a renewed hunger for truth," said Kolvet. "People are searching for something bigger than politics, and they’re finding it in God’s word." Block 4: Trump Derangement Syndrome? Trump Supporter Targeted in NC Shooting In a disturbing case out of Western North Carolina, Mark Thomas, a river-rafting business owner, says he was shot at after a man tore down a Trump banner from his yard. Police later arrested 38-year-old Benjamin Campbell, an Atlanta accountant, who allegedly returned to the scene and fired multiple shots. Charges include felony assault with a deadly weapon. Thomas, whose elderly mother was at home during the attack, told reporters he only fired warning shots to protect his property. "It’s political rage taken too far," he said. "This wasn’t just vandalism. This was attempted murder." Block 5: Ralph Norman on Shutdown, Israel-Hamas Ceasefire South Carolina Congressman Ralph Norman joined the show to weigh in on the shutdown, echoing Trump’s stance. "This is about fiscal sanity. We can’t let the far left dictate terms." Norman also spoke on the fragile Israel-Hamas ceasefire, saying, "We must stand with Israel while pushing for regional stability." He cautioned that any deal must include the return of hostages and disarmament of Hamas-affiliated groups. Ep 565WEEKEND: A Natural Path to Pet Health: Dr. Dennis Black on Real Food, Daily Routines & the Benefits of RuffGreens® (Ep 563)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson explores the importance of meal plans, daily routines, hydration tactics for your pets. A Natural Path to Pet Health: Dr. Dennis Black’s Blueprint (and Why We Use RuffGreens®) Intro If you want your dog or cat to live longer, feel better, and thrive on real food—not marketing hype—Dr. Dennis Black’s new book, A Natural Path to Pet Health, is a gift. In it, the founder of RuffGreens® lays out a no-nonsense, low-cost plan any family can follow: what to feed, what to avoid, how to spot dehydration early, daily routines that extend quality of life, and when it’s time to call the vet. Below are the biggest takeaways from our conversation—and how a real-food topper like RuffGreens® VitaSmart can help support skin, digestion, and energy. Who Is Dr. Dennis Black? A veteran of natural health and the creator behind RuffGreens®, Dr. Black has spent decades helping people and pets build durable wellness habits: clean inputs, smart routines, and targeted supplementation. His mission is simple—make pet health practical, affordable, and natural. The #1 Pet-Health Myth Myth: “If the bag says ‘complete & balanced,’ I’m done.” Even with AAFCO standards, highly processed foods can be calorie-dense but nutrient-light after high-heat processing. Dr. Black’s guidance: feed real food, upgrade with living nutrients, and watch your pet—not the package—for results (coat, stools, energy, weight). “Read the Bowl, Not the Label”: Red Flags to Avoid When you do read labels, scan for these three instant dealbreakers: Chemical preservatives & dyes (e.g., BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, artificial colors) Vague proteins (“meat meal,” “animal digest”) instead of named sources (chicken, salmon) Added sugars & heavy fillers (corn syrup, sugar, wheat/corn as the first ingredients) One ‘gotcha’ word: “Digest.” It often means ultra-processed flavoring from unspecified sources. Why We Like RuffGreens® (and What It Does) RuffGreens® VitaSmart is a real-food topper designed to add back living nutrition lost to high-heat processing: Live probiotics & digestive enzymes to support gut health and nutrient absorption Omega fatty acids to support skin/coat and normal inflammatory response Vitamins, minerals & phytonutrients from a variety of whole-food ingredients Easy compliance for picky eaters—sprinkle over current food Plain-English benefit: You don’t have to overhaul your pet’s diet overnight. Keep the base food you trust and upgrade it with living nutrients. (Always follow label directions and your veterinarian’s advice.) Weight Management for Food-Motivated Dogs Ditch free-feeding. Pre-measure meals. Add warm water or low-sodium bone broth (no onion/garlic) to increase food volume and hydration. Move daily: 30–60 minutes of age-appropriate activity (walks, fetch, nose work). Use a real-food topper (like RuffGreens®) for micronutrients without overfeeding treats. Budget-Friendly, Vet-Aware Starter Recipe Always balance home-prepped meals with a complete vitamin/mineral source per your vet’s guidance. Simple Turkey & Veggie Bowl (Dogs) 1 cup cooked lean ground turkey, drained ½ cup cooked brown rice ¼ cup steamed carrots, chopped ¼ cup steamed green beans, chopped 1 tsp fish/sardine oil (EPA/DHA) Add a complete canine multivitamin/mineral topper (e.g., RuffGreens® per weight) Never add: onions, garlic, grapes/raisins, xylitol, chocolate, alcohol, macadamias, excess salt. Hydration: The Hidden Lifesaver Early signs of low hydration: tacky/dry gums, dark urine, low skin elasticity, lethargy, constipation, panting at rest. One easy hack (today): Float kibble in warm water or no-onion/garlic bone broth. Consider a pet water fountain for cats/small dogs. Daily “Longevity” Habits That Stack the Odds Movement: 30–60 minutes/day adjusted to age & breed Teeth: daily brushing or dental chew; schedule cleanings Grooming & ear checks: reduce skin/ear issues early Sun + sniff time: enrich the brain, reduce stress Sleep window: consistent bedtime/wake time for hormone balance On a tight budget? If you can only choose one add-on, Dr. Black says a complete, real-food nutrient topper offers the best per-dollar impact. When to DIY vs. Call the Vet (Don’t Wait) See a professional now if you notice: repeated vomiting/diarrhea >24 hours (or blood), bloated/tense abdomen with unproductive retching, pale/blue gums, trouble breathing, seizures, collapse/weakness, heat stroke signs, or inability to urinate/defecate. Keep on file at home: recent weight, vaccine dates, meds/allergies, heartworm/fecal tests, and baseline labs (CBC/chem/urinalysis, especially age 7+). The Bottom Line You don’t need a PhD—or boutique prices—to build real pet health. Feed cleaner, hydrate better, move daily, mind the teeth and skin, and upgrade with living nutrients. That’s the heart of A Natural Path to Pet Health—and why a simple topper like RuffGreens® can be a smart, practical tool in your kit. Try RuffGreens®: Visit RuffGreens.

Ep 552Maxine Waters Says the Quiet Part Out Loud on Health Care | Justice for Logan Federico (Ep 550)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson Day three of the shutdown brings the same stalemate in DC—short-term funding vs. policy riders—with health-care benefits and border policy emerging as the core flashpoints. A viral exchange featuring Rep. Maxine Waters (“health care for everybody”) lit up social media as Republicans argued Democrats are moving the goalposts. Meanwhile, a Portland city council video advising activists on avoiding immigration detection drew fresh scrutiny. On TV, Sunny Hostin argued it’s hypocritical to call yourself pro-life while owning AR-15s—reigniting the faith, life, and Second Amendment debate. Why It Matters (Wallet, Safety, Liberty) Wallet: Shutdowns disrupt contracting, travel, and small-business planning while families face high premiums and energy costs. Safety: Voters want clarity: Are taxpayer-funded programs expanding to cover those here illegally? What’s the plan to fix the border? Liberty: The pro-life vs. gun-rights framing often reduces complex moral views to talking points; citizens deserve honest, consistent standards. Winners & Losers Winners: Voters demanding transparent, single-subject spending and straight answers on eligibility. Losers: Politicians relying on clips and semantics over policy clarity. What to Watch (Next 48–72 Hours) Any movement toward a clean CR vs. policy-linked funding. Concrete answers on health-care eligibility and subsidies during the standoff. Whether party leaders cool rhetoric—or escalate. South Carolina Notes Several members say they’ll forgo pay during the shutdown; the Logan Federico case continues to highlight accountability gaps and the death-penalty debate—fueling calls for tougher sentencing and better record-keeping. 🔔 Subscribe for daily conservative briefings: @JoeyHudson 🌐 Podcast & show notes: JoeyHudson.com 💬 Text the Firmin Ford text line: 864-477-JOEY (5639)
Ep 551Government Shutdown Day 2: Mike Johnson vs. George Stephanopoulos | Travel Delays & What’s Closed (Ep 549)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson On Day 2 of the partial government shutdown, Speaker Mike Johnson sparred with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos over who’s to blame—and what’s actually in (and out of) the funding bills. We break down what’s closed, what stays open, and how the shutdown could hit your travel plans (TSA, FAA training, national parks, passports, Amtrak). Plus: Elon Musk becomes the first person to cross the $500B net-worth mark, and a South Carolina judge rejects an attempt to block the state from sharing voter data with the DOJ—here’s what it means. Key takeaways Shutdown mechanics: Many federal workers furloughed; essential staff (TSA, air traffic control, military) work without pay until funding resumes. Travel: Flights still operate, but staffing strain can mean delays; FAA training pauses; national parks vary by site/state funding. Healthcare fight: Clash over extending ACA enhanced subsidies and related policy riders fuels the stalemate narrative. Musk milestone: Market surge + private valuations push Elon Musk’s net worth over $500B. SC voter data: State judge allows sharing with DOJ—legal fight likely continues. 💬 What’s your shutdown story? Ep 547WEEKEND: Found a Stray in Greenville? GHS Launches 24/7 Roadside Microchip Scanner—Plus Affordable Pet Care” (Ep 545)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson If you find a stray pet in your neighborhood, there’s now a faster, simpler way to get that animal home. The Greenville Humane Society has installed a public, roadside microchip scanning station right outside its Adoption Center at 305 Airport Road, available 24/7/365 with step-by-step instructions, lost-pet resources, and a community bulletin board for updates. (https://www.foxcarolina.com) How the roadside scanner works (quick guide) Pull in safely at 305 Airport Rd and park near the station. Gently scan the pet’s shoulder/neck area; follow posted instructions. Record the chip ID that appears. Follow the on-site directions to look up the chip and contact information or next steps for reunification. For after-hours hits, owners can still be contacted through the registry; posted guidance explains the process and what to do if no match appears right away. (GREENVILLE JOURNAL) Safety tips for Good Samaritans: Use a leash or carrier if possible, avoid sudden movements, and check for visible ID or tags before scanning. If the pet appears injured or aggressive, call local animal control or a nearby clinic. After-hours reunions—what happens at midnight? Because the station runs all night, a chip match can trigger next steps through the microchip registry even when offices are closed. The on-site instructions walk you through contacting the registry and logging a found report so the owner can be reached promptly. (The Journal’s rollout coverage confirms the station is designed for exactly this kind of round-the-clock use.) (GREENVILLE JOURNAL) Chip myths vs. reality “A chip automatically has my info.” Not quite—chips must be registered and kept up-to-date with your contact details. “If one scan fails, there’s no chip.” Not always—re-scan slowly and in multiple passes; universal scanners read multiple chip types and frequencies. If there’s still no hit, follow the posted steps to file a found report. (Facebook) Community partners who made it possible NexGard Plus, Cleveland Park Animal Hospitals, and Elanco supported the station’s launch—great examples of public-private collaboration to help lost pets get home faster. Plans to expand public scanners will be explored as the program matures. (https://www.foxcarolina.com) Beyond the scanner—affordable pet care at GHS GHS continues its core work for families and pets: Vaccine Clinic with common preventive services “without breaking the bank,” starting at $10 for select services. Spay/Neuter Clinic with transparent add-ons like microchips around $20 (prices subject to change; check site for details). (greenvillehumane.com) Get your pet microchipped today You can microchip through GHS during clinic visits; bring ID and your pet’s records if available, then register the chip online and keep your contact info current. Booking, hours, and pricing are posted on the GHS site. (greenvillehumane.com) Where to go & how to help Location: Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd, Greenville, SC 29607 What to do: Use the scanner for found pets, explore lost-pet resources, donate, volunteer, or book clinic services via the website. Ep 543ABC Brings Back Jimmy Kimmel—TPUSA Pushes Affiliates to Say No (Ep 541)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson ABC says “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returns tonight—after a brief suspension over remarks tied to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Disney calls the comments “ill-timed,” critics call the return predictable, and some big station groups still say “not so fast.” Turning Point USA is urging ABC affiliates to keep Kimmel off the air—while dropping a star-studded campus tour in Charlie’s honor. Tonight’s rundown: Kimmel’s comeback: Disney puts the show back on; Sinclair and other groups weigh preemption; free-speech vs. standards debate explodes. TPUSA tour after Charlie Kirk: New Turning Point Tour lineup includes Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, Vivek Ramaswamy, Glenn Beck, Allie Beth Stuckey, Gov. Jeff Landry, Gov. Greg Gianforte, Sen. Mike Lee, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, Jason Chaffetz, Alex Clark, Rob Schneider & more—hitting Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Utah State, Montana State, UND, Oklahoma, IU, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, UC Berkeley and others. Starbucks firing: Ohio barista terminated after writing a slur about Charlie Kirk on a customer’s cup—company says it violated policies for a welcoming environment. Domestic terror label: President Trump signs an order designating Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization,” directing agencies to investigate, disrupt, and prosecute terror-linked activity. Security & law enforcement: Man charged for allegedly pointing a laser at Marine One near the White House. South Carolina “Move Over” blitz: ~2,400 tickets as officials push roadside safety after trooper strikes. SC trooper fired, charged in a separate, tragic child-abuse case. Health policy tease: From the Roosevelt Room, President Trump signals a major autism announcement and warns pregnant women against acetaminophen (Tylenol) use—citing studies that show associations. (HHS notes association ≠ causation; expect label and guidance debates.) TPUSA to ABC affiliates: “Don’t air Kimmel.” Spokesman Andrew Kolvet says Disney “caved,” while some affiliates argue Kimmel should apologize and make amends before any return. Critics call ABC’s pause a slap on the wrist; others oppose ‘cancellation’ over one monologue and want broader debate—with guests across the aisle. Listener corner: “It felt like a revival… for five hours we felt safe.” “Forgiveness on that stage changed hearts.” Join the conversation 📲 Call/Text the Firmin Ford text line: 864-477-JOEY (5639) 📬 Subscribe: JoeyHudson.com 🔗 Follow: Facebook.com/joeyhudsononline | X.com/joeyhudson #Kimmel #Disney #ABC #TPUSA #CharlieKirk #FreeSpeech #CampusTour #Starbucks #Antifa #LawAndOrder #MarineOne #Autism #PublicPolicy #MediaBias

Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson Yesterday, more than 200,000 mourners gathered at State Farm Stadium to say goodbye to Charlie Kirk—husband, father, founder of Turning Point USA, and a defining voice for a generation. Plus: the U.S. House advances a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk; President Trump is feted by King Charles III at a Windsor Castle state dinner; and ABC/Nexstar pull “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after his remarks about Kirk spark backlash. If you’re here for clear, fact-forward coverage and smart analysis, you’re in the right place. Ep 538“I Did It”: Prosecutors Cite Alleged Text Confession in Charlie Kirk Assassination (Ep 536)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson Kirk Case Charges Filed • Alleged Text Confession Emerges • ABC’s Matt Gutman Backlash • Patel vs. Schiff Fireworks • SC House Shake-Up? We open with the latest in the Charlie Kirk assassination case. Prosecutors formally charged 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson and say the evidence now includes text messages and online chats in which the suspect allegedly admits to the killing and discusses retrieving and hiding a rifle. According to prosecutors, Robinson’s transgender partner, Lance Twiggs, provided screenshots and cooperated with investigators. In one exchange (as described by prosecutors), Robinson allegedly wrote, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” and later, “I am, I’m sorry,” when asked directly if he was the shooter. Robinson appeared by video in court and was formally charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child. Prosecutors said they intend to seek the death penalty. Robinson did not enter a plea and remains held without bail pending his next hearing. Meanwhile, ABC News is under fire after correspondent Matt Gutman described portions of the alleged message exchange as “very touching,” emphasizing the intimacy of the relationship rather than the brutality of the crime—drawing sharp criticism online from commentators and elected officials who say the framing romanticized an accused killer. ABC has not (as of taping) issued a public correction or apology, and the backlash is growing. On Capitol Hill, a fiery Judiciary Committee hearing featured FBI Director Kash Patel and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) trading barbs over DOJ/BOP decisions and transparency. The back-and-forth escalated to Patel calling Schiff a “political buffoon,” reviving long-simmering disputes over Russiagate, January 6, and perceived double standards in high-profile investigations. Back home in South Carolina, Rep. Stephen Frank (House Dist. 20, Greenville County) joins us to discuss a push to remove a Democratic lawmaker from the House Judiciary Committee following insensitive comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We’ll cover what was said, where leadership stands, and how free-speech claims intersect with legislative standards of conduct. We’ll also share Turning Point USA’s statement focusing on honoring Charlie’s life and legacy, and we’ll keep you up to date on memorial details as they’re finalized. 📞 Call/Text on the Firmin Ford Text line: 864-477-JOEY (5639) 🌐 Join the mailing list / Subscribe: joeyhudson.com 📺 YouTube: Subscribe & hit the bell X: @joeyhudson | Facebook: /joeyhudsononline Key Takeaways Charges & Penalty: Robinson faces aggravated murder and related counts; prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty. Digital Evidence: Prosecutors cite texts and chats in which the suspect allegedly admits the killing, discusses a rifle, engraved rounds, and deleting messages; a handwritten note is referenced in photos. Media Controversy: ABC’s Matt Gutman drew criticism for calling parts of the alleged messages “very touching,” which critics say soft-pedals the crime. DC Fireworks: Kash Patel and Adam Schiff clashed in a tense hearing over credibility, transparency, and past investigations—fueling the narrative fight over weaponization vs. oversight. SC Politics: Rep. Stephen Frank outlines a bid to remove a Democratic member from Judiciary over statements about Kirk—spotlighting the line between free speech and fitness for public trust. Listener Mail (selected) Ray: Reflects on the faith and family legacy of Charlie Kirk. Faye: Prayers for the family; concern over violent rhetoric surfacing online. Ep 533Remembering Charlie Kirk (1993–2025) Gone too soon. (Ep 531)
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson Remembering Charlie Kirk (1993–2025) A life lived out loud for faith, freedom, and America. It’s a day of sadness and gratitude. Sadness, because our friend and colleague Charlie Kirk—conservative activist, founder of Turning Point USA, husband and father—was shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University yesterday and later died of his injuries. Gratitude, because even in grief we can give thanks for a life spent rallying young Americans to love their country and to speak boldly. What happened in Orem Witness video from the event shows a single shot as Charlie addressed a large crowd outdoors at UVU around 12:20 p.m. He was rushed to the hospital by his security team and pronounced dead later in the day. UVU closed campus and escorted students off site as law enforcement locked down buildings and launched an investigation. As details have developed, authorities have offered evolving updates: early statements indicated a subject was detained; hours later, officials clarified that individuals initially questioned were released and the investigation remains active. We’ll keep tracking official briefings as the manhunt continues. A nation responds In a formal proclamation from the White House, President Donald Trump ordered U.S. flags flown at half-staff nationwide through sunset on Sunday, honoring Charlie’s memory. The president also spoke from the Oval Office about Charlie’s impact on the country—remarks we’ll share on today’s show. Leaders across the spectrum expressed condolences and called for an end to political violence. Who Charlie was—and why he mattered Charlie Kirk rocketed from suburban Chicago organizer to one of the most influential voices on the right. At 18 he co-founded Turning Point USA, building a student movement that packed arenas and pushed the free-speech debate squarely onto America’s campuses. He married Erika Frantzve in 2021; they have two young children. At just 31, Charlie had already authored books, hosted a top-ranked podcast, and helped energize a new generation of conservative voters. Thankful Thursday We’re grieving—but we’re not without hope. Charlie never hid his faith; he spoke openly about Jesus and the power of grace. On this Thankful Thursday, we’re thankful for a life that pointed people to conviction and courage. As believers, many of us take comfort in the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
