Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, faced an intense confirmation hearing yesterday with his allies celebrating ability to lead the Pentagon and his  critics, particularly among Senate Democrats, raising questions about his qualifications and ideological stance.

There are political consequences for opposing a party line vote and Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., witnessed that yesterday when he was  removed from the influential House Rules Committee after voting against Speaker Mike Johnson during the House leadership election

The ladies on The View debated on whether you can love your country and perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration. The View, co-host Joy Behar criticized country music superstar Carrie Underwood for agreeing to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. Behar questioned Underwood’s decision, suggesting it conflicted with her professed love for America.

 The South Carolina Bar and Tavern Association held a news conference in the SC State House on the first day of the legislative session to make legislators aware of the struggle they are still having obtaining affordable liability insurance. Many businesses have closed in the past two years. Chris Smith, Executive Director of the Association joins us later in the today’s show.
