On a recent morning, I was outside investing time with the Lord in the Word and prayer. I feel like the Holy Spirit gave me a fresh facet of insight about a popular verse - "Do not be conformed to this world (age may be a better translation), but be transformed by the renewing of your mind ..." (Romans 12:2). So I just did a flash recording on the spot. Here's the opportunity: we don't have to conform to this decaying age, but we can align now to the age that Jesus is bringing. Question for us: Has Christianity degraded as a movement from the powerful, uncomplicated, and original to the overly-complex and institutional … what Paul referred to as a form with no power? Many of you have heard about American Pastor Andrew Brunson who was imprisoned in Turkey for 2 years. The DNA of the Church is Apostolic Christianity. DNA contains genetic information. When it's turned on, that information is expressed. One of the key aspects of Apostolic DNA is an emphasis upon the Word or Kingdom teaching. "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42 NASB). DNA contains genetic information or instructions. In a healthy organism, the DNA gets "turned on" and expressed. The design of the DNA will manifest unless there is a mutation or disease which suppresses the accurate expression of the DNA. In the history of Christianity, error and negative dynamics have been introduced which have worked against "Apostolic Christianity."
