Show Notes

This is a job that no one wants but thankfully there are people out there that are doing it. Imagine waking up every morning knowing that your day is going to be filled with visiting offenders to ensure they are not re-offending.

Beth Hoel spent 25-years working with prisoners who had served their sentence and were now released back into the community. She explains some of the things she learnt along the way.

Thank you to everyone out there who does these jobs. We are grateful to you.

Beth Hoel spent nearly 25 years with the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department in Phoenix, Arizona. While working with the probation department, Beth spent the vast majority of that time supervising sexual offenders. Throughout her career, Beth became an expert in the field while honing her skills at assessing risk, identifying an offender’s driver and focusing on rebuilding the entire person. Instead of focusing on just the offence and the conditions of supervision, Beth developed a holistic and collaborative approach to supervision. Today, Beth utilises those same skills as an objective third-party without the constraints of governmental red tape.
