Let's Talk: Recently, the Nigerian government said it's considering re-privatizing the 11 power Discos across the country under the Electricity Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
According to the government, the move aims to overhaul the electricity sector, addressing regulatory gaps and compelling underperforming Discos to inject fresh capital leaving the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) with so much authority to enforce compliance.
With the challenges being faced in the electricity sector is this the best move for the Federal government?
