The president, yesterday in his nationwide speech, said his administration is committed to ensuring every Nigerian goes to school by providing student loans for students. However, the recent increment of tuition fees by the University of Jos has caused a lot of stir from students, parents, and stakeholders alike, although the president had also said, in an earlier statement, that the planned increase be halted for now. On Let’s Talk this morning, Abigail Siman and Emeka Umesi will have a conversation with Professor Nnamdi Aduba and Dr. Nyongo Phillip on the future of education under the President, and the sustainability of tertiary education given the economic challenges? Do you agree that Universities should be tasked with generating their funds? The halting of the planned tuition fees increase and provision of buses to students, how effective will it be in buffering the effects of the economic hardship in the country?
