The governor, yesterday, placed a 24-hour curfew in Mangu following the incessant killings that took over 15 lives and left houses burnt. However, the cries for safety continue to intensify with killings increasing weekly. On Let’s Talk today, Abigail Siman and Emeka Umesi will speak with Luka Panpe on the way forward, and what local communities can do in the face of these killings. Do you agree that the governor’s hands are tied in such situations and that he should be given more security powers? The call for dialogue has also been met with resistance from some quarters. Do you think dialogue is a solution to the problem? What solutions would you proffer to local communities at a time like this?
