I hadn’t even read a book since high school let alone anything by the master philosopher. Never the less there was an abyss dead ahead, a yawning black hole with a singularity at the center that would rend to pieces every notion by which man desperately clings to his contrived perception of reality.It was in the tail end of June, one of those endless summer days that make life worth living. I pulled my big flatbed truck onto Sunrise Highway and slipped it into high gear. In back of me the sun was dropping like a great red fireball into an ethereal sea streaked with pastel pinks and ominous purples. I lit up a cigar sized joint and felt the air whipping through the trucks open windows. My flesh tingled with its cool caress. I had been working outside all day with my shirt off turning my complexion glowing crimson bronze with a hint of a stinging sensation. I could feel the muscles rippling beneath my skin. They were still pumped from the day’s exertion. It was a confirmation of my own virility every time they strained against the black fishnet shirt I was wearing. I was heading east to Kenny’s new house he had rented with his wife Patty, his five year old son, and his recently born baby. I got off the highway at Carlton Avenue in East Islip heading south and made a left before the rail road tracks turning into an enclave with streets named after long dead presidents. The houses were worn and run down, not as bad as Mastic and Shirley but they had long since lost their suburban charm. I made a right and another left around a sump onto a road that ran parallel to the railroad tracks and I rumbled past Kenny’s house. The lights were on and I saw Joey Baranek’s car in the driveway along with a beat up white van I didn’t recognize. It was a two family home and Kenny had the portion toward the street and the train tracks. I went about a half a block down to the cul-de-sac and made a U-turn in its aborted circle. I looked over my right shoulder at a vacant lot that stretched about the length of a football field before turning into woods and thickly tangled underbrush. The woods fish hooked from the tracks around the lot and continued through the backyards of the houses terminating at the corner with the fenced in thirty foot deep sump. Stagnant water submerged the bottom. The lot itself looked as if it was being used as an improvised dump by the Long Island Railroad. There were four and five foot high mounds of dirt, covered by weeds, and piled at impossibly steep angles as if they were built by some subterranean insect engineer. Towards the center there were charred debris strewn about in a haphazard fashion as if somebody had been burning something and then tried to put the fire out. Minus the burnt wood the overall effect was like a miniaturized version of an abandoned Mesoamerican city reclaimed by encroaching jungle.I parked the truck in front of Kenny’s house and leapt the three feet from its cab to the street. I walked around the front of the truck and up the entrance to the two car driveway towards the house. Pausing I took one long hit from the last of the joint and flicked it into the street watching its burning embers scatter into the evening breeze. I studied the van trying to figure out who it belonged to and I noticed through the closed windows that the front of its cab was partitioned from the back by a jet black curtai

The Mystery of Shannan GilbertLong Island was different then, thirty years ago. Oak Beach was the personification of its seaside innocence and yearning for life. It wasn’t, in the words of Shannan Gilbert’s mother, “an evil dirty place.” Now, “It’s isolated. It’s desolate. It’s a rich community. You’ve got doctors and cops and very very wealthy people who live there. No one’s ever going to think that that’s a bad dangerous area. But it is.”(53 – 0:16)Sometime around midnight of Walpurgis Eve 2010, Shannan Gilbert, a twenty-four-year-old call girl, left Manhattan and took the last ride of her life in Michael Pak’s SUV. They would have got off Ocean Parkway where the OBI south once stood and gone left about a half-mile down the pitch-black Oak Beach Road till they got to the gate and someone let them in. Pak, her regular driver to escort appointments, says it was Oak Beach resident Joseph Brewer and they followed his car to his house (54 – 2:32). Brewer admits to hiring her but says it was not for sex (55 – 27:28). Brewer and Pak’s stories collaborate and they both passed lie detector tests but sociopaths laugh at lie detector tests.At 4:51 AM Shannan made a terrifying 911 call from her cell phone that for reasons that are unclear to this day was transferred to the state police who no longer have jurisdiction in Oak Beach (56 – 9:02). Although she was on the phone twenty-three minutes screaming “their trying to kill me” the 911 operator was unable to get her location. Two male voices that have been identified as Pak and Brewer can be heard in the background.Shannan then showed up banging on the door of Oak Beach resident of over thirty years Gus Colletti. Colletti, perhaps not coincidentally, comes across as the only witness in the CBS 48 Hours news investigation who is not being disingenuous. According to Colletti, he opened the door. “And I said to her … ‘What’s the matter?’ She wouldn’t answer me. She just kept staring at me and going, ‘Help me, help me, help me.’ I reached over and grabbed that phone, dialed 911. When I said to her, ‘I called the police. Sit down in that chair. They’re on their way.’ She just looked at me and she ran right out the door.”When Colletti followed her outside he saw her cowering under his boat in the driveway. He says “I could see a car coming down the road very slowly … would stop and then go a little bit. Stop, go a little bit.” Colletti ran up to the car and confronted the driver; Michael Pak, asking him ‘Where do you think you’re going?’ Pak replied that he was looking for Shannan and Colletti told him ‘Well, I called the police … they are on their way to bring her back,’ to which Pak replied ‘You shouldn’t have done that.’ Colletti answered ‘Well, I did.’ At this point, Shannan bolted from under the boat and into the darkness. Pak drove off after her ignoring Colletti’s shouts for him to stop.(57 – 7:07)Pak claims that they had been at Brewer’s house for about three hours when Brewer came out and got him. When he went in Shannon was “freaking out” and accused them both of trying to kill her. She then went behind the couch and crouched down. Pak says he followed her and asked her if she had seen the movie Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. She replied coherently and at that point, he says he realized she wasn’t high.It was then he heard the 911 operator on her phone and he thought Shannan might be trying to set him up. So he left. When he was outside he saw her run out of the house and tried to follow her. From there his story match’s Colletti’s. With him giving up and leaving when he couldn’t find her after pursuing her from Colletti’s house.(58 – 56:39)The next 911 call came from Oak Beach resident Barbara Brennan, who says Shannan showed up banging at her door at 5:21. But neither Shannan nor Pak was anywhere to be found by the time the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) got there at 5:40. SCPD was unaware of Shannan’s initial panicked 911 call received by the state police and wouldn’t find out about it for at least a month. So when they didn’t see Shannan or Pak, SCPD assumed they had left together.Two days later on Monday May 3 at 1:42 PM, Oak Beach resident Dr. Charles Peter Hackett made a phone call to Shannan’s mother Mari (59 – 31:34). Mari says that Dr. Hackett told her Shannan had been staying at his house in Oak Beach which doubled as a halfway home for wayward girls. Dr. Hackett told her that Shannan had been agitated, so he had sedated her and she had left with her driver.Dr. Hackett at first denied making the call but after 48 Hours dug up the phone records he wrote 48 Hours’ investigative journalist Erin Moriarty a series of letters claiming he hadn’t said he had seen Shannan nor did he say he ran a halfway house out of his home. He was just trying to help. According to him, he had become involved after meeting with her family and Pak and Shannan’s boyfriend Alec, when they came looking for her in the ensuing days.(60 – 30:36)But Alec did not even realize

Sometimes we grow so weary of painting pictures for the blind. Most recently on the ninth of June in various venues we published Pirates Scuttle the Titanic. Its an excerpt from Century of the Magicians. We are doing a deep dive into the Twentieth Century, a century of warfare. It began with the Boer War wherein the British Empire, led by Cecil Rhodes, Alfred Milner and William Stead eventually crushed and annexed the two Dutch countries of South Africa that stood against them.There were rumors that Rhodes had found the lost kingdom of Ophia, the site of King Solomons mines, the source of the Queen of Sheba’s riches in Mashonaland, rumors of an entire train laden with Dutch gold simply vanishing from the face of the earth. What emerged from this was the Roundtable, a secret society of the most powerful men in the British Empire, a society with unlimited resources and wealth that continues to run roughshod over the West till this very day. Rhodes died and like the eternal battle between darkness and light Alfred Milner and William Stead would fight for control of the Roundtable. Milner, backed by the Rothschilds and the disciples of Aliester Crowley, wanted war with Germany. Crowley wanted three wars, the three battles between Horus and Set to usher in the new Aeon. Stead, in Milner’s own estimate backed by angels, wanted only peace.The schism between demigods culminated when Stead, at the request of President Taft boarded the Titanic, in route to America to address the scions of the Roundtable at Carnegie Hall. He had to be stopped or the century of warfare would have been a century of peace. An elaborate scheme was concocted to ostensibly defraud Lloyds of London but in reality sucker in JP Morgan to collaborate in the murder of one of Gods own, William Stead.Almost everything you’ve been told about the Titanic is lies. It wasn’t even the Titanic that sunk but its irreparably damaged and uninsurable sister ship the Olympic. All the proof of that needed is in possession of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the French National Institute of Oceanography. It was showcased in a much suppressed British documentary; Titanic The Shocking Truth. Yet the blind cannot see and continue, led by shills like Stew Peters (stupider), to grope in the darkness muttering about Jews, Jesus and Satan.The submersible sank for a reason, RFK Jr. gave his historical speech on world peace for a reason, yet the blind have no reason. Maybe its our fault we left much of the payload of our research behind a paywall but in due time it will all be revealed when we publish Century of the Magicians. On the eleventh of June I did Titanic the Final Word, the closing synopsis of our chapter on the Titanic, a podcast also behind the paywall. Because I do not want to leave you at the mercy of people like Stew Peters and Alex Jones, even though you deny me my hard-earned fee of ten dollars, I am making Titanic the Final Word available to the public today. Five days before the Titanic departed from Southampton “the Californian had left the port of London in a great hurry, ostensibly bound for Boston. Then on the evening of the fourteenth of April the ship came to a dead stop in the middle of the ice field.” The night of April fifteenth when the Titanic sank Captain Lord slept fully dressed on “a couch in the chart room rather than in his cabin. He also ordered her boilers to be kept fired up and her engines on standby.” On fogless nights it was common practice for British captains to steam right through ice fields without even slowing down, icebergs could be seen from miles away. This was attested to by three different captains in the ensuing hearings. Obviously, Captain Lord was “expecting some kind of emergency that would require a last-minute dash into the night. That evening the Titanic received six radio messages. The first three were from other ships giving the location of icebergs. The other three were from the Californian, more concerned with giving her own position stopped for the night. Those three were personally addressed to Captain Smith.” (34) The first of the two fatal mistakes was made by Captain Lord who “failed to keep his radio operator awake. Even so the Californians last message to the Titanic never got there. The Titanic’s radio operators were too busy with passenger’s messages.” (35) Ostensibly because the nearby Californians messaging was booming through the radio room the Titanic’s senior wireless operator Jack Phillips actually told the Californian radio operator, “Keep out; shut up, I’m working Cape Race!” The Californians radio operator, not part of the conspiracy and under no orders from Lord to get the message through at all costs, simply retired for the evening.The second fatal mistake was made by Captain Edward Smith who left the actual collision of the so said Titanic to his First Officer William McMaster Murdoch while Smith too, no doubt to limit his culpability in the hearings that were sure to ensue, slep

New discoveries are beginning to show some truly mysterious and even miraculous properties of gold. Are we finally revealing the real reasons why the GODS of antiquity were so obsessed by this metal?EnjoyMichael.White Powder of GOLDThe food of the gods – manna from heaven!In 1994 at the Global Sciences Congress hosted by Dean Stonier in Virginia Beach, David Hudson presented his new findings to an astonished audience. By this time he had spent 17 years researching the strange properties of gold and other Platinum Group Metals or PMGs. Hunter was a successful farmer who saw an opportunity in recovering gold from old mining sites where the sandy leftovers from the refining process were dumped. His idea was simple, to accumulate gold and silver without having to pay taxes and because he had all the farming equipment he began recovering gold using the Heap Leach Cyanide method. The crushed ore is laid out and irrigated with a dilute cyanide solution. The solution percolates through the ore and leaches out the precious metal. This can take several weeks.The solution containing the precious metals is called the pregnant solution. It continues percolating through the crushed ore until it reaches an impermeable liner at the bottom of the heap where it drains into a storage tank. The precious metals are then separated from the pregnant solution and the dilute cyanide solution now called 'barren solution' is normally re-used in the heap-leach-process or occasionally sent to an industrial water facility where the residual cyanide is treated and residual metals are removed. The water is then discharged back into the environment where it poses possible and obvious ecological threats. But this is all really aside from the remarkable discovery made by Hudson.During his recovery of gold and silver in this way and then assessing it with a standard fire assay process, he found that he was recovering something else, which was causing losses in the recovered gold and silver. After consulting more knowledgeable experts he realized that nobody knew what this problem material was. It had a specific gravity and it would recover in molten lead just as if it was gold or silver. But when he tried to couple it with the lead, there was nothing.This is where the mystery deepened when he discovered that people involved in mining and metallurgical work are familiar with this mystery substance. They often call it 'ghost gold'. It is a non-tradable and non-identifiable form of gold.Hudson was introduced to the Soviet Academy of Sciences, that had a very advanced emission spectroscopy programme. This process involves taking two carbon electrodes and placing your sample on one of them, while running a current between them through your sample. As the current forms an electric arc between the two electrodes, it also burns the sample matter in its path. The elements in the sample will ionize and give off specific light frequencies. This is the basis of spectroscopic analysis or DC Arc Emission Spectroscopy. This process is normally triggered for about 10 to 15 seconds before the carbon electrodes burns away. The interesting thing is that American spectroscopy analysts will tell you that everything that is there will be ionized and will be ident ified in the emission spectroscopy report.In one such experiment, the material Hudson was testing showed up to be iron, silica and aluminum. It took them three years of trying to actually get rid of those elements, but this could not really be achieved. Because once the known elements were burnt away, they still had 98% of the material left behind. This material on the DC arc did not indicate to be anything. As a citizen of the state I welcome the Federal government or any governing body moving to look at the actions of this State’s leadership through oversight. That protest stopped the state legislators from being able to carry out the people’s business in the State House. As of this writing the pictures and videos of the assaults have been purged from a quick image search on the web. The protestors were loudly led and welcomed into the State’s assembly area by three legislators who later faced expulsion. Using raised fists and bullhorns they stopped all debate on a bill to provide for greater protection in schools through support of more police presence in those schools.These untoward actions and the subsequent media outrage truly had little to do with the emotions of the people of Nashville who had just experienced horrific murders of children and teachers in private Christian school. Those protests were entirely for the benefit of those who wish greater control over your, and my, life. The expulsion of the District Representatives was entirely due to the inappropriate, unwarranted, and unruly actions of themselves on that day.Spirited emotional debate, in light of facts, is the way of change in a representative republic. The manners, social courtesy, and rules of the House are all in place to allow for such debate during consideration of issues effecting those whom the legislators represent. I did not, nor did my representative in Nashville, see the violence, assaults, and disruption of my business in my house as furthering the debate. The House has rules of conduct meant to give an equal voice to the districts through their Representative. The three who were considered for expulsion, by leading the momentary violent takeover of the chambers, clearly violated their agreements to act in a civil and appropriate manner. The expulsions due to inappropriate behavior were entirely in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee.As is required by law those districts which now have vacant seats in the State House must fill them. As should be, the two young men, duly elected representatives, were sent home to explain themselves and their actions to the leadership of their respective district. It is up to the people of those districts to determine how the now vacant seats should be filled. Having been sent to the “office” to discuss inappropriate, and often emotional, behavior during my younger years I wholely agree with the process. Go talk to the boss or a Sergeant to see if I’m going to get fired, admonished, or prosecuted then either go home or back to work. It is a process that works for the good of a civil people and also for those most directly involved who operate under the set of previously agreed upon rules, laws and values.The story comes to a close with much continued blathering from personalities in the media and Washington DC whose job it is to whip uninformed people into a frenzy for their own aggrandizement. Yesterday I heard that after meeting with their respective district leadership the two expelled Representatives will be sent back to their seats to serve out their terms. I hope they were duly admonished by cooler heads and wish them well on their journey to becoming civic leaders.Once upon a time the entire process we’ve witnessed as of late was the norm in representative government. Expulsions and recalls occurred in all levels of our respective republics. Elected representatives of the people were held to account and responsible for their actions.Having watched and listened to all these processes I find hope for our civil system in the actions taken by and for the citizens of this State. This was first published in 2019 right after my return from Europe where I saw and did things that meant nothing could ever be the same for me again - Jack. Phil was a stone cold killer. Some of his resume is covered in my unpublished first book, but not all of it. He was still alive when I wrote it. Although he was of Polish and Italian descent, he’d made his bones in the South Bronx working as an enforcer for a woman called Ms. Iris who ran the Puerto Rican mafia and owned a string of topless bars which retailed cocaine all along Rosedale Avenue with the blessings of the NYC police department. He’d told me ten years ago that one day he would kill Richie and now he was back with a mandate from a powerful faction of the Italian mob to do just that…After wallowing in self pity for almost a year over my failed marriage; crack pipe stuffed in my face and self-respect naught but a distant memory I had cleaned myself up, picked myself up by the bootstraps, as the limp dicked republicans like to say, just in time to be hired as Richie’s bodyguard. Without me, Richie was a dead man and so were all his make believe gangster friends. They were all terrified of Phil, whom long ago had been dubbed “Lurch” by the Long Island police, possibly because of his charming habit of playing with the severed heads of his friends.I’d been sitting on Richie for weeks, sleeping on his couch with rounds chambered, safety’s off, in a twelve gauge pump shotgun and a semi-automatic forty caliber pistol. My only respite had been when the mostly Black bouncers from Richie’s flagship club, the Café Royale, had come over early one morning with a pile of coke and a couple of bottles of Hennessy. Since they were all armed, I allowed myself to drop my guard and party with them just that once. During those weeks, Richie and I had never left Richie’s palatial waterfront home.About three weeks in, I was introduced to Larry, half Italian, half Black and two hundred and sixty pounds of muscle, with a resume almost as extensive as Phil’s. He had just gotten out of jail and I was told that he would now be my partner in babysitting Richie. Larry shunned the obligatory “nine” of the growing Black hip hop culture in favor of a German Luger, which was the first thing I noticed about him that made him stand out from the twenty or so Black tough guys who bounced Richie’s strip clubs. The second thing I noticed was Larry’s intelligence and his soft and articulate way of speaking, which was undermined by a steely coldness that served like the warning colors of a deadly snake…Richie was a very intelligent man, well read and highly educated, but he was like a man without a soul and his only real concern in life was what Richie was going to get out of it. Consequently, he would double cross anyone who got in his way, including his own father and anyone foolish enough to go in with him on a business deal, which was why there were those who wanted him dead. With only Richie to talk to, Larry and I soon became fast friends.Phil for his part burned Richie’s make believe gangster partners car in his driveway, then using his experience as a linesman for cable TV to cut off the electric in the whole neighborhood, calling his house and telling his wife he was now coming to kill the whole family. When he wasn’t amusing himself like this, he would march into bars under Richie’s control with our old crew, all screwed by Richie, take them over and split the nights take with the legitimate owners, telling them they would now pay him instead of Richie or suffer the consequences.When he wasn’t doing that, he was relentlessly stalking Richie, who with both me and Larry now at his side, got up the courage to go to his office in the Café Royale. I remember Phil calling the Café and telling Richie what he was wearing. When I was told this I was eating lunch in the back rooms with some of the girls and I pulled my piece right in front of them and went outside with Larry looking for him. Of course, Phil was nowhere to be found. We weren’t about to go after Phil, not for Richie, but we weren’t about to let Phil kill him either. I still considered Phil a friend, we’d been through a lot together, much of it making Richie his first few millions…Phil was a real tough guy and so were the people he was with; the Murphy brothers and company, maybe the toughest in NY at the time, present company excluded. But they were no match for Richie and his Jewish lawyer, who practically ran Suffolk County. He could open French doors as easily as any human and when I locked my ex wife’s cat, a nuisance but Tookie loved him, in the bedroom Tookie would stoically get up when he caterwauled, scamper to the door in his dainty cat trot and jump up grabbing the handle with his paws till the door swung open. At the end of the 1890s, the freemason Philip Vashod founded the masonic lodge Krest i Zvezda (the Cross and Star) in the Winter Palace and later in Tsarskoye Selo, in order to surround the tsar and destroy him. He even tricked Nicholas II into joining the lodge. But the tsar was not informed of any important secrets. Philip Vashod became adviser for questions of state (Viktor Ostretsov, "Freemasonry, Culture, and Russian History", Moscow, 1999, p. 387). The freemason Leonti Kandaurov (the tsar's emissary in Paris) confirmed this (the Central Historical Archive in Moscow, section 730, I). French freemasonry got the all-clear in the tsarist Russia, despite the fact that it actually represented atheism and republicanism. Nicholas II was aware of this. By associating with the freemasons, he destroyed Russia's chances of development. Between 1900 and 1902, 10 000 people, mostly Russian Jews, were trained in the United States. Their mission was to return to Russia after their revolutionary training in order to spread terror and crush the tsarist regime. Most of the financial resources for these activities came from the Zionist billionaire Jacob Schiff and other Jewish bankers in the United States.These bankers also financed the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 and the Revolution of 1905 in Russia (Nikolov Dichev, "The Evil Conspiracy", Urgench, 1992, p. 99). In 1904, the Grand Orient agitated against the Russian government, calling it a disgrace to the civilized world. The Order of Grand Orient of France was constantly involved in Russia's internal affairs by supporting the "revolutionaries there as early as 1905-1906, when many agitators were active" (Oleg Platonov, "Russia's Crown of Thorns: The Secret History of Freemasonry 1731-1996", Moscow, 1996, p. 172). The tsar was influenced by several freemasons acting as close friends. Prince Alexander Mikhailovich was one of them. Mikhailovich's mother was Jewish. Another was Duke Nikolai Niko-layevich, who convinced the tsar to sign the Manifesto of 17 October 1905, which cleared the way for the freemasons. This document gave the parliament, which was completely under the control of the masons, more power. The tsar's understanding of Russian free-masonry was primarily gained from these high-ranking masonic gentlemen who were unable to tell the truth and in reality wanted to depose and kill him. In 1905, in St. Petersburg, the secretary of the Masonic Supreme Council, David Bebutov, delivered 12 000 roubles to the leader of the social revolutionaries in exchange for murdering Tsar Nicholas II. The plans could not be realized. In 1906 the freemasons made another attempt to kill the tsar with the aid of the social revolutionaries. They even used a submarine in the attempt. There were also plans to build an aeroplane for this purpose (ibid, p. 179). The action was organized by the infamous terrorist and freemason Nikolai Tchaikovsky (social revolutionary), who had designed the aeroplane that was to attack the tsar from the air. When their henchman Jevno Azef was arrested, the plans were put on hold. When General V. Teplov became a member of the lodge, a "brother" wanted to know what he thought of the plan to physically remove the tsar. Teplov answered with the frankness of a military man: "If I am ordered to do so, I will kill him." (Sergei Melgunov, "On the Way to the Palace Coup", Paris, 1931, p. 185) During the autumn of 1905, the freemasons led all the attempts to take over power in Russia. Among the conspirators were two members of the National Council, Alexander Guchkov and Mikhail Stakhovich (who also acted as diplomat), as well as other well-known freemasons like Sergei Urusov, a landowner who had betrayed the tsar. He handled the contacts with the Grand Orient of France.Urusov was simultaneously the chairman of the Masonic Supreme Council of Russia. These men immediately wanted to be part of a Russian government. Also the freemasons Vladimir Rozenberg and Georgi Lvov took part in this plan. Watch Phantoms | Prime Video (amazon.com)“Phantoms is a 1998 American science fiction horror film adapted from Dean Koontz's 1983 novel of the same name. Directed by Joe Chappelle with a screenplay by Koontz, the film stars Peter O'Toole, Rose McGowan, Joanna Going, Liev Schreiber, Ben Affleck, Nicky Katt and Clifton Powell. The film takes place in the peaceful town of Snowfield, Colorado, where something evil has wiped out the community. It is up to a group of people to stop it or at least get out of Snowfield alive.While Koontz's novel included many literary tips of the hat to the work of H.P. Lovecraft, these are largely excised from the film.[2]Phantoms was filmed on location in Georgetown, Colorado.[3] The Hotel de Paris Museum was used to depict the bakery and hotel where several scenes were set.Plot[edit]Dr. Jennifer Pailey brings her sister Lisa to the resort town of Snowfield, Colorado, a small ski resort village nestled in the Rocky Mountains where Jenny works as a doctor. Once in town, the sisters find no one around but a few corpses. At first their suspicions are that of a serial killer on the loose in town. The sisters stumble upon the severed heads of the town baker and his wife in an oven when they are found by Sheriff Bryce Hammond, a former FBI agent, and his deputies Stu Wargle and Steve Shanning. Hammond and his deputies are investigating the killings.The group arrives at a nearby hotel and find the writing of a victim on the mirror reading "Timothy Flyte". Shanning leaves to investigate a sound outside but doesn't return. The others find only his gun, hat and shoes while the rest of him is gone. They return to the sheriff's office to request aid and create roadblocks around Snowfield. The group gets a strange phone call but are interrupted by an attack by a bizarre moth-like creature that rips Wargle's face off before Hammond is able to kill it. Lisa later encounters Wargle while in the bathroom. They quickly return to the morgue and find his body missing.Hammond's FBI associates find Flyte, a British academic who theorizes the town has fallen victim to the Ancient Enemy, an entity he generalizes as "chaos in the flesh". It periodically wipes out civilizations including that of the Mayans and the Roanoke Island colonists.They are soon joined by an Army commando unit and a group of scientists led by General Copperfield who has come to Snowfield. They, along with Flyte, investigate the town. The creature kills soldiers investigating the sewers, while a dog approaches Flyte and the scientists and transforms into a gruesome monster that converts the group, except for Flyte. Flyte regroups with Hammond, Jenny, Lisa, and Copperfield. The creature attacks Copperfield through a manhole, converting him. Copperfield vomits a sample before melting into a puddle of black liquid. Through it, Flyte and the group learn the nature of the Ancient Enemy.Revealed to actually be an Earth-based amoebic life form that mimics its absorbed victims while gaining their knowledge, the Enemy creates Phantoms as temporary detachments for it to act through before absorbing them back into it. Furthermore, the Enemy absorbs all of the thoughts of its victims, making it extremely intelligent, and because of the previous civilizations' perception of it, it believes itself to be a god. It had arranged all of the prior events so Flyte can assist the creature in revealing its existence to the world. Flyte also learns that the creature's body is physiologically almost identical to crude oil, and could be killed by bacteria bio-engineered to ingest fossil fuels. They deduce that with the limited amount of the bacteria they have, they need to get the bacteria into the nucleus that is within the main body of the Enemy.They form a plan to use the Ancient Enemy's extreme arrogance and god complex against itself. To do so, Flyte acts as if he is turning against the group by revealing their entire plan to the Enemy. In anger (and believing itself indestructible due to being a god), it reabsorbs all the Phantoms and then emerges from the sewers to assume a Mother Mass form. Hammond and the Pailey sisters fire the bacteria into the Ancient Enemy before it retreats underground with Hammond in pursuit.While the Pailey sisters find themselves dealing with Wargle's Phantom, Jenny seemingly kills it with a gun containing the bacteria. Hammond finds the Ancient Enemy as it has assumed the form of the boy he accidentally killed during an FBI drug raid. When the boy grabs the last vial from him, Hammond shoots at it to expose the creature to its contents. It dies from the bacteria.Though Hammond reassures Lisa and Jenny that it is gone, with the former stating the townsfolk are at peace, Flyte admits the Ancient Enemy did achieve its victory as he has decided to tell the world what happened with a book based on what occurred in Snowfield. When Nichols rolls to his side saying he did nothing wrong and telling the cops their really accomplishing big things, all he wanted to do is get home the cops begin beating him and slightly less corpulent Black cop starts spraying everyone and everything with pepper spray, including himself. Nichols runs off pursued for about a hundred feet by corpulent White cop who apparently is the only cop who can still see after being pepper sprayed but he has lost his glasses and is badly winded after waddling behind Nichols for a hundred feet. Corpulent White cop goes back to car and rinses slightly less corpulent Black cop’s eyes with saline solution as he remarks that he hopes the other cops stomp Nichols good. He stays with car as the now fully recovered slightly less corpulent Black cop drives off in pursuit of Nichols, obviously now on a vendetta.Video 2, pole footage about a minute and forty in shows three Black cops casually beating the prone and helpless Nichols as fat Black cop kicks him in the face. Bald Black cop arrives and “batons the shit” out of Nichols as the other two stand him up. The fat Black cop lands a series of roundhouse right hooks to the dazed and restrained Nichols, who is now mortally injured. Nichols is dragged into a sitting up position against the car, but he cannot maintain it and sprawls out on the street while he is left dying without medical attention for twenty-five minutes after which EMS carts off what is left of him.Video 3 shows the same beating as video 2 but with audio as all four cops appear to relish the beating, they are giving Nichols with baton, pepper spray, fists and feet as Nichols pathetically screams for his mother.Video 4 is mostly blacked out in the beginning but winds up showing all the cops preparing their lies as to why it was necessary to beat Nichols to death, saying the hundred- and forty-five-pound man was berserk and going for their guns. Van Beek converted to Mormonism in college when he started studying anthropology… (55)Van Beek’s research consisted of dropping in on the Dogon almost a half century after Griaule and Dieterlen, who studied them when they still had their independence through France.
