A Moving Riot with Horace Martin
Episode 67. Horace Martin did not conform. Did not have a formal education. Drugs, Addiction and Dumb Shit with Dave from Dopey
Episode 63. If you listen to our show you're probably already familiar with Dopey, "the podcast about drugs, addiction, and dumb shit." This week we got Dopey's host Dave on the phone to talk each of those things. Plus, death, methadone, good tweaker/junkie snacks, self-delusion, hustling for a fix, pushing daisies and the power of sharing these stories. Apologies in advance for the audio quality. We had to do this one over a 5-way phone which introduced a host of new problems. But it's a great episode other ways that we're excited to share. Raves, Meth and Ayahuasca with Eddie
Episode 62. Wow. This is an epic tale. Each time we thought he hit bottom he just managed to make things worse. From casual drinking and blowing off steam after work, to immersing himself in 1990s LA rave scene and spiraling downward into meth. Gang warfare and mind-loosening psychedelic trips followed until he finally crashed and burned. All in the course of just a couple years. Eddie finally overcame his demons during an ayahuasca trip in Brazil. Which helped him restart his career as an animator and find stability and family life. Shrooms, Beer and Jäger with Kelly from Ohio
Episode 60. After blacking out the first time drinking, Kelly stuck (mostly) to weed and psychedelics through high school, then returned to alcohol at 21 and mixed them to some success...but mostly: Taco Bell DUIs, ruined relationships, mile high club while technically still on the clock (billed as travel day), wigging out on too much acid, Miller light and Jäger bombs. Kelly is a long-time listener who reached by email with some stories to tell. Fireworks, Fentanyl and 50 Cent with Rico
Episode 59. Rico’s email to us sums his episode up nicely: What's up guys, big fan of the show. I'm 29, I live in Boulder, CO and I have some stories from my past that I think would fit well. Some of my them include: - How I got expelled from high school - Spending a night on the street in New York - Waking up in a trash bag - Crashing my car on speed - Doing fentanyl before it was cool - Getting dusted in Santa Monica - How to stay awake for 100 hours All that and so much more. Art, Acid and Anarchy with Ian Swordy
Episode 57. This week we have a very different picture of New York. Ian Swordy escaped his wasp-y, Long Island upbringing in pursuit of punk rock, partying and political anarchy in the late 90s/early aughts. And while everyone around him got their legs snapped along the way, Ian seemed to coast through it all on a plate of blueberry pancakes and a message from God. That is until the message ran out. Ian eventually found himself alone, broke and wasted, waiting for someone who was never coming back. Today Ian—an artist—is 2 years sober and works un-ironically at a craft brewery in Bushwick. He has a new book out which you purchase from his site (below) along with his sculptures. Graffiti and Family with Charlie the Hustler
Episode 56. Charlie Hustle has earned himself a reputation as a wild-man, savage, graffiti savant. Raised by alcoholic parents in Brooklyn and then Staten Island, CH fell in love with graffiti by the 3rd grade. It gave him a community and a brotherhood that helped him navigate finding his own identity. But as New York changed under Giuliani in the 1990s, that community quickly escalated to violence, PCP every day and over 100 arrests in and out of Rikers Island. By 20, Charlie discovered recovery in Arizona where he unrolled in acting classes at a community college. But then there was relapse, more violence, more arrests, taking on white leaders in the Mojave Desert prison system, and finally applying to halfway houses in Florida without medical insurance and bit-by-bit turning it around. Charlie has seen it all. Today he has 6 months sober and is happily settled in the Massachusetts countryside.SUPPORT CHARLIE THE HUSTLER: https://www.instagram.com/charlie_the...https://www.charliethehustler.com/It's All Bad T-Shirts: https://itisallbadpodcast.bigcartel.com/Support us on Patreon for bonus bangers: https://www.patreon.com/itsallbadWatch the episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRhoJd5PkqgFollow us on Instagram: @itisallbadEmail us if you want to be on the show: [email protected]

When the Cocaine was Good with Susannah
EEpisode 55. So good that you'd get diarrhea just saying it's name. Hollywood in the 1980s. Our guest this week is Susannah, an old production friend of Keith's who went through the wringer of cocaine and alcohol addiction until she sent herself headlong into a coma and finally got the wake-up call she needed. (A ghostly visit from her deceased mother helped too.) This November she'll have 15 years sober and is ready to conquer the world in her 50s.WE GOT T-SHIRTS: https://itisallbadpodcast.bigcartel.com/Support us on Patreon for bonus bangers: https://www.patreon.com/itsallbadWatch the episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/RuTM7X3F1XkFollow us on Instagram: @itisallbadEmail us if you want to be on the show: [email protected]

Honeybuns and Fifi Bags with William S. Hayes
Episode 54. Burden of Concrete, the new book by William S. ("Scotty") Hayes is a harrowing account of his life. His tale begins with his teenage years and a brief foray into juvenile hall, then on to the county jail. By the early ‘90s, in the midst of an exploding Seattle music scene, he falls victim to the scourge of heroin addiction. The chaotic lifestyle that ensues thrusts him into a world of concrete: polluted cells and streets. We talk with Scotty and his friend Renee about the wizardry of boosting, prison politics, Honeybuns, Fifi bags, Krokodil, ball-scraping, butt cheek-spreading, and everything in between. You can purchase Burden of Concrete on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Burden-Concrete-William-S-Hayes/dp/1940213061Support us on Patreon for bonus content from this episode, early access to and discounts for IAB merch, and archived recordings from the earliest It's All Bad sessionshttps://www.patreon.com/itsallbadFollow us on Instagram for pics from the episode, bts content and announcementshttps://www.instagram.com/itisallbad/

EEpisode 53. It's All Bad welcomes our first intercontinental guest. Nathan of Victoria, Australia has been stabbed twice, broken every rib at least once, 8 broken noses, 17 broken hands, 3 missing teeth, 18-20 ODs, a golf club to the abdomen, a cricket bat to the head, etc. Now he's sober, happily married with 4 kids, working in recovery and an expert in criminology. We talk bikie gangs, drug dealing and hustling, serial killers, P2P's Australian origins, and that one friend who couldn't find a way out.Support us on Patreon for bonus content from this episode: https://www.patreon.com/itsallbadOn Patreon you'll also get access to the earliest It's All Bad recordings when we were still just getting our shit together. If You Get Clean I'll Give You Anything in the World with Gilbert Trejo and Andrew Mishko
EEpisode 52. Childhood friends/drug addicts, Gilbert Trejo and Andrew Mishko, join us to talk adolescent heart attacks and shooting cocaine on Planet Venice, CA. Plus, the craziest room Russian Danny ever set foot in, mushrooms while babysitting, and a never-ending story about meeting President Barrack Obama. And tutorials! How to (successfully) go 3 months without shitting, and how to file down a football pump for shooting dope (don't try any of this at home, ever). Also—maybe a first in podcast history— Keith takes a whiz on air. It's all here this week. Drugs are Cheaper if You're Naked with Alison Knight
EEpisode 51. For Alison and her gang of morally depraved degenerates—known as the Manson Family—Isla Vista, CA in the 1990s was the party scene of all party scenes. The beachside college town was host to all kinds of mad shenanigans that ordinarily involved thousands of acid trips, car-jacking, white drugs, skateboarding, stripping naked, punk shows and Zima. Lots of Zima. Alison is 15 years sober today and joins us to share all this and more with you.

Listener Call-Ins: From Brothels in Germany to Acid in Colorado
EPISODE 50. Thank you to everyone for great year of terrible stories. To celebrate our fiftieth episode, we've got 5 listeners calling in to share some of their own fuck ups. Plus, we're bringing back fan-favorite, Gabby (Episodes 7 & 8), to tell some Bay Area bangers. Here's to all of you who make this show possible, and to another year of bad stories. If you want to share a story in the future. Email us at [email protected]. MUSIC FROM THE EPISODE: Check out Jon's band Supercollider: https://supercolliderband.bandcamp.com/album/supercollider-e-p (the song we play is Simple Song) And Julian's song with No Tyypo "New City Streets": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6nZRQQTokI

Meth Labs, Hookers and Hand Grenades with Jeff Franklin
Episode 49. Get ready for some Covina bangers from longtime members of the Church of the Crystal Methodists. Lots of speed and cooking meth. Lots of escaping the police and dodging prison time. Some great America's Dumbest Criminal/botched crime stories. Some cautionary tales of selling to celebrities like Daryl Strawberry. Insane ghost stories. Aliens. Smoking PCP with Pony League coaches. Man. You name it, this episode's got it. Enjoy.

Doing Drugs with Acronyms with Awesome Haley, plus Everything was Diamonds and Glitter with Cesar
Episode 48. This week we have a double header for you. First up is Awesome Haley. A long-time fan from Missouri who has stories of DMT-making, mail-order research chemicals, haunted hotels, rubber-tramping gone bad and, of course, Juggalos. Haley is great and we are so grateful for her coming on. Then we have something totally different. What can you say about Cesar? He's in the thick of it. Turned onto drugs in his thirties after therapy didn't take, he's got stories of Grindr dates gone awry and narrowly skating by on several troubled Hollywood escapades. Hope you enjoy his madness.

Red Dirt Meth and Nebraskan Exorcisms with David
Episode 47. Our guest this week is a longtime listener from Nebraska. David traded time between Lincoln and Fremont chasing meth and leading a blue-collar double-life between managing a restaurant and dealing with speed freaks. He toured the South as a drummer in a Red Dirt country band and caught a felony possession charge on a residue amount. Not to mention a deeply haunted apartment, Xanax nods, making love with lightning bugs, and the exorcism of his abusive ex-girlfriend. Congrats on one year clean, David. And thanks for sharing your worst life decisions with us.

The Heroic Dose with Michael Angelos
Episode 46. A self-proclaimed “terrible junkie” who would rather do his drugs alone in a bathroom than deal with the dirt, hustle and anxieties of life on the streets. Like a Larry David heroin addict who didn’t want to sit in traffic to cop. Michael Angelos grew up in Malibu and started getting himself in trouble very early with his first brush with sobriety at just 16 years old. He spent the 80s and 90s in and out of the Hollywood rock scene with bands like Jane’s Addiction—a scene where “you had to do heroin with just to get your foot in the door.” But the truth is, Michael’s real problems with addiction are around food. He’s the guy who would kick heroin but get caught sneaking cookies in treatment. Meanwhile Russian Danny crashes with the hippies at Occupy LA, Keith reflects on his Hollywood drug dealing days, Mike talks OCD and marijuana and Angelos walks us through his therapeutic experience hippie-flipping on a Heroic Dose of mushrooms.

Russian Danny's Ex-Fiancé, Sasha
Episode 45. They never got married, but still spent a honeymoon squatting at playhouses, apartments and Uhauls all over town as they smoked, shot and stole their way to rock bottom. Eventually, they pawned their engagement rings for $20 worth of methadone and checked into rehab. Here they are today, to tell us all about young love and bad memories in the heart of Hollywood.

Gunfire in the Hospital and Hangovers at Preschool
Episode 44. Two places you don’t exactly want to see bad behavior. Methed-out, Peter goes up against forty cops in a hospital. Gets shot five times and faces five years in prison. Luckily he had his colostomy bag to keep him company. Meanwhile Olivia gets promoted, praised and forgiven for her consistent black-out drinking when she first moved to LA. Really this episode is about two VERY different people who both kept standing back up after getting knocked down hard. When, sometimes, the best thing to do is stay down a while. Rest, recover and figure out what you're doing. Eventually, they did just that. And we were lucky enough to have them on pre-quarantine to share their stories. This episode was recorded a few weeks ago, when we were all still trying to make sense of what this virus was and who it would be affecting. Simpler times. Enjoy.

Tweakers You Can Spot from Space with Gary and Reno Part II
Episode 43. This week we pick up where we left off. Working in the recovery and the healthcare industry is hard enough sober. Stress. Mental illness. Pulling things out of patients' buttholes. Etc. Try it with a drug habit. In this episode we talk healthcare and schizophrenia. Threesomes and mushrooms. Zimas and drunkenly auditioning for The Price is Right. Reno walks all over town, Keith scores big at a garage sale and all parties slowly find their way out of that life. With the ability now to spot a tweaker a mile away. Especially say, a dude in a trench coat biking through the rain with a microwave tucked under his arm. For instance.

Everything is a Dildo if You're Brave Enough with Gary
Episode 42. The Orange County episode. One of many more to come because the OC has some serious demons to unpack. Just ask Gary (who would prefer to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.) From flashing crowds at punk rock shows to smoking meth at Knott’s Berry Farms. From the “Meth That Makes You Cum” to Darvocet cupcakes and Hessian stepdads. Plus! Gary’s own secret DIY dildo recipe. This episode has it all. In fact we couldn’t even fit it all in here. Part II with Gary is gonna drop next Monday. Oh and Reno makes a surprise return halfway through. Enjoy!

Champagne, OxyContin and Lots of Ghosts with Jack Osbourne
Episode 41. I’m not sure if extra ghost stories is what we need right now given we’re all homebound and stir-crazy, but it’s what we’re getting. What a great guy. We had an awesome time talking to Jack about his party-crazy MTV days as a wilding 16-year-old popping Quaaludes and opiates up and down the Hollywood strip; getting into fights and clowning Justin Timberlake. And an equally great time talking about his sober life, where he found climbing, mountaineering, surfing and of course, paranormal investigating to keep him more than busy. Jack’s got some incredible ghost stories. Including his feeling that the It's All Bad house may in fact be haunted, which Mike doesn't care for. His show Portals to Hell premiered March 13th. New episodes on Fridays at 9/8c on the Travel Channel. We’ll share a link on our YouTube page. Thanks for listening.

PCP and a Late Start to the Good Life with Lucky and Lepke, Part II
Episode 40. Southsiders Lucky and Lepke are back for more All Bad. Ghosts, SWAT Teams, PCP, arrests and GHB before finding a sober way out with the help of gratitude and some higher power. They call it a late start to the good life, never forgetting those they lost along they way. Enjoy.

Southside Bullets and Ganging with Lucky and Lepke, Part I
Episode 39. This week we got some old Hollywood bangers from a couple Southside "cholos." Born in Santa Monica and Baldwin Village respectively, Lucky and Lepke met in the joint in 1993 and quickly bonded over their shared Italian-Jewish heritage and a love for classic cinema. But they also had addiction in common. They tell all this week from riots on the yard to smoking Maui Wowie in 1970s Los Angeles. From falling in love with dope to chasing sex on meth and finally taking bullets for their behaviour on the streets. As if that wasn't enough to stop them, Lucky and Lepke will be back with more stories of paranoia and PCP next week. Enjoy.

The Marvelous Miss Elliot
Episode 37. Miss Elliot (AKA Anita Dick) has lived quite a life. From growing up a gay man in Arkansas, to navigating the legalities and madnesses of male prostitution in 1980s New Orleans, to finally becoming the longest running hooker on Sunset Blvd in the 1990s. He's since found himself a successful career as a celebrity hairstylist and managed to stay clean 26 years. All that and more. Plus Reno fills in on the hosting side for Keith. Enjoy.

Phish, Drugs and Brotherly Love with Chris Paulson
Episode 36. Born and raised in Hancock Park Chris knows the insanities of Hollywood well. And as the youngest of three drug-dependent brothers he did all he could to prove his worth. They pushed each other into all sorts of bad behavior, but also had each other’s back. Whether tricking each other into smoking PCP, drunkenly beating each other into bruises at Grandma’s funeral, or hugging after a spectacular Phish show, there’s nothing truer than the bond of family. Thanks for listening.

The Heroin Obsession with Jason Jardine
Episode 35. This week’s guest joins us from Vancouver. Jason is an avid listener of the show who reached out to us via email to share some war stories. We were lucky enough to get him in for a recording when he was in LA on travel last week. My God. Jason has some killer stories. He joins Mike, Keith and Russian Danny to talk everything from exploding bowels to hallucinating amputations, from growing up in Chilliwack, Canada to seeking lower companionship on Hastings Street in Vancouver, and from the ritual and obsession of heroin addiction to the horror of fentanyl. Thanks for listening.

White Collar Crimes with Lily and Gidget
Episode 34. Growing up in Oakland and later Orange County, Lily had a habit of running with the wrong people. Mostly whoever was on the other side of a dope bag. And mostly skinheads. But she owes a debt of thanks to Nordstrom's return policy for floating her habit too. And Easy-Off Oven Cleaner for helping her counterfeit bills. Tune in to hear all about those white collar crimes plus gun charges, syringe-related infections, bad mushroom trips in kayaks and how she found sobriety before turning twenty-one. Thanks for listening and find us on YouTube to see what Lily's dog Gidget makes of all this.

Some From the Vault: The It's All Bad Archives
Episode 33. This week we pull from our earliest recordings. It's All Bad has been an ongoing project for almost 3 years now. Initially, the show was very much a work in progress and we had a hell of a time getting the microphones to function in our favor. Still, we had some great guests on to share some crazy stories, like our good friend Youree who's highlights are featured here. Plus we've got a few stories from the usual suspects and banter from guests Justin Warfield and Lala Sloatman. Apologies for the recording quality and the sometimes excessive bleeping. If you can bear with that, you're in for a special treat. Thanks for listening.

Speedballs and Brothels with Jerry Stahl and Zoe Hansen
Episode 31. Our guests this week are Jerry Stahl and Zoe Hansen. Jerry is a novelist and screenwriter known for his 1995 memoir Permanent Midnight. And Zoe is an ASMRtist and author who contributed to the 2013 collection The Heroin Chronicles, edited by Jerry. Together they've got decades of bad behavior under their belt. Everything from shooting dope and running brothels in NYC to shooting speedballs and pitching scripts to studio execs in LA. Plus, we talk prison slang and politics, furries vs plushies, ghosts and paranoia, and the intersection of life and movies. Thanks for listening.

The Mind-Erasing Power of Benzos with Sebastian and Reno
Episode 30. This week we welcome back Reno and newcomer Sebastian to talk a lot of shit with Uncle Mike and Russian Danny. By shit I mean: shit in a Trader Joe's bag, shit on a religious statue, shit running down your leg at a party, shit on the kitchen floor, upper decker shits, shit in a shoe, etc. Plus, San Fransisco raves, eviction stories, and of course, the mind-erasing power of benzos. Thanks for listening.

Earth is a Seedpod with Aaron Rose
Episode 29. Aaron Rose is an artist, film director, curator and author who directed the 2008 documentary Beautiful Losers. He joins us today to discuss everything from Buffo Ceremonies to Third Reich collectibles. From accidentally sleeping with an 80-year-old woman to the scary reality of hallucinogenic flashbacks. Plus, a strung-out Russian Danny is tracked and accosted by Jean-Claude Van Damme. And Keith remembers the high school football star who dosed him with PCP. Thanks for listening.
