Show Notes
In episode three of the new podcast from Electronic Sound magazine, founders Mark Roland and Push delve into the history of Melody Maker, the legendary British music paper which launched in January 2026, 100 years ago. They tell the story of how the Maker started as a devious plot by its founder to promote songs like 'I've Never Wronged An Onion', through to the post-Beatle glory days and a peek behind the scenes as they reveal the inner workings from their time at the august publication, and its sad demise in 2000.
It's All About Vinyl is a podcast about records and the stories that cling to them. Each episode explores the history, culture and happy accidents behind recorded music, from spinning speeds and forgotten formats to music magazines, charts and the people who shaped how we listen.
It’s a chatty, curious look at vinyl and the analogue world around it: part music history, part trivia, part conversation. Whether you’re a serious collector, a casual listener, or someone who’s ever said “I’ve got that on vinyl”, this is a show about why records still matter – and why they always will.
