In Italy, the table wine Tavernello is almost as widely recognized as pizza. The Tavernello brand has enjoyed thriving sales for over 30 years. In this episode, Monty Waldin meets SimonPietro Felice, General Manager at CAVIRO, the Italian wine coop behind Tavernello. Monty and SimonPietro discuss the history of the coop and its effort to make wine of controlled origin. Monty also tries to elicit from SimonPietro the “secret” Tavernello recipe, a blend of wines from 7 Italian regions.
