Orange Countys Finest: Achieving National Recognition in Healthcare, Design, and Military Service
Mark Gabot, a nursing instructor at Cal State Fullerton, becomes a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, the second advanced practice nurse and first certified registered nurse anesthetist to do so. Hes revolutionizing point-of-care ultrasound training at Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia and making waves in the field.
Meanwhile, two local designers from Savannah College of Art and Design are making their mark. Bryce Moon, a Northwood High grad, wins Interior Design magazines Best of Year award for his Uni Bench, and Samila Katsimbrakis, a Tesoro High alum, receives the Angelo Donghia scholarship for her Glossier workplace concept.
Lieutenant Commander Corey Housepian, a Costa Mesa native and Newport Harbor High grad, serves as the sole Navy podiatrist in Europe, Africa, and Central Command, supporting eight thousand five hundred personnel at a key Mediterranean base.
These Orange County residents demonstrate that homegrown talent can drive significant impact globally, from education and healthcare to design and military service.
