Show Notes

Jim Michaelian, the longtime president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, passed away after nearly five decades of shaping one of Americas premier street races. Starting as an employee in 1975, he handled finance, operations, and marketing, and later became COO and CEO. Michaelian raced in pro events and inspired many with his hands-on passion. He oversaw the races transition from Formula One to IndyCar, and navigated sponsor shifts and a pandemic-delayed race. His legacy will keep the Long Beach Grand Prix roaring into its next half-century.
