Show Notes
State and federal officials have launched a 30-day public comment period on the Bridger Pipeline Expansion, a project by True Companies to transport Canadian crude oil from Montana to Wyoming. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Montanas Department of Environmental Quality are leading the review, with Wyomings environmental team also involved. Locals in eastern Wyoming have dubbed it Keystone Light due to its smaller scale and similar route. True Companies has a history of spills, including a 45,000-gallon diesel spill in Wyoming in 2022 and over 50,000 gallons of crude in Montanas Yellowstone River in 2015. Theyve introduced a new leak detection system, FlowState, but have faced Clean Water Act violations. The public now has the opportunity to comment and influence the projects future.
