Show Notes
Loggerhead Marinelife Center and Smithsonian team up to track sea turtles with lost limbs, using satellite devices to monitor their survival and adaptation in the ocean. Amelie, a rare Kemps ridley turtle, is one such success story, having recovered from injury and surgery to carry eggs and join the tracking program. Pyari, another amputee turtle, has traveled over 700 miles since her release. The data collected helps boost sea turtle populations and is available for real-time tracking on the Loggerhead website.
