Ep 130Witness Execution Program

E

Shortly after 5 a.m. on Sept. 10, 2012, three masked men wielding guns broke into a suburban home in Ocoee, Florida. The intruders dragged roommates Alex Zaldivar, 19, Brienna Campos, 20, and her brother Remington Campos, 23, from their beds and lay them face down on the living room floor. Minutes later, bullets were fired into each of the heads. The men fled. When the ringing in their ears subsided, Remington and Brienna Campos realized they had miraculously survived, but their friend did not. Alex Zaldivar lay motionless in a widening pool of his own blood. Who were these men and why were they trying to kill everyone inside? It would later be revealed one of the intruders had been in this house, uninvited, once before. He was facing serious prison time and saw only one solution: he had to kill the witnesses. A special thanks to Rafael Zaldivar, who shared photos, videos and personal stories about his son, as well as retired Orlando Police Detective Michael Moreschi, who investigated the murder and provided an interview and information for this episode. E

On December 7th, 2016, 22-year-old Jessica Seger had plans to visit her sister, 25-year-old Amanda Suarez, at her home in Okeechobee, Florida. When Jessica arrived at the home, she noticed something strange: the door was open. And what lay inside proved to be horrific, as her sister's body was set on the floor, posed and covered in blood. Along with the body was Amanda’s hysterical 2-year-old child. Jessica grabbed her nephew and ran up the block to call the police. In the ensuing investigation and interviews with family and friends, investigators compiled a small list of potential suspects. But it was only after the discovery of a single piece of evidence left behind by Amanda herself, that detectives were able to narrow it down to one prime suspect. What followed was a tale of extreme depravity of the worst kind… Written by Trevor Pason, edited and engineered by Scott Ecklein, and executive produced by Michael Ojibway. Ep 125The Road Trip

E

On October 25th, 2018, staff at the California Men’s Colony Prison in San Luis Obispo noticed their beloved co-worker 64-year-old Athena Valentiny had not arrived at work. This absence prompted a wellness check, as was their standard procedure. But it was when two security guards tasked with checking up on Athena noticed her car was still parked in front of her home that they began to worry. To make matters worse, they noticed what appeared to be blood on her window shades. With Athena’s well being put into question, Grover Beach Police were dispatched and, to their horror, they found Athena viciously stabbed to death in her bedroom. As for who was responsible, there was a laundry list of potential suspects. But after some digging, investigators narrowed it down to one person, and with this discovery was a story, and a road trip, almost too far-fetched to be real. Ep 104Special Appeal to the Public - Who Is Dr. Gloves?

E

In the mid-to-late 2010’s an individual operating under the pseudonym “master” allegedly began uploading several disturbing original photographs to various online gore forums on 4-Chan and Death Addict depicting the mutilation of deceased pre-term fetuses and infants. This user also shared several photographs depicting the horrific taunting and physical abuse of several medically compromised and vulnerable children in a contemporary U.S. hospital setting. The original content was so disturbing - that users quickly dubbed the original poster as Dr. Gloves - a reflection of his unusual choice of attire. A hazmat coverall splash suit, elbow length surgical gloves, and a black leather BDSM bondage mask… Can you help solve a nearly decade long mystery? WARNING: This episode deals with extremely detailed depictions of violence, abuse, and exploitation of children, and includes optional access to an active online investigative website which includes heavily redacted photographs of these criminal offenses. Ep 102Whoop(s)

E

No one ever said that marriage was easy. Long-lasting relationships take work. Even then, sometimes they simply don’t work out. In fact, nearly half of first time marriages end in divorce. And when things like 60/40 child custody splits and hidden assets enter the picture, things can get ugly. When 41-year-old Rebecca Bliefnick was found murdered in her Quincy, IL home in February of 2023, authorities naturally looked toward the estranged husband. But as the investigation ensued, they realized that it’s not often the prime suspect in a murder investigation admits on live television - that he regrets marrying his wife, just a few years before her murder… Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. Ep 99Consensual Non-Monogamy

E

We’re all familiar with the term “open relationship.” Some more than others. While this kind of romance doesn't always work out, it’s very rare that someone winds up dead as a result. (Part 2 of 2) After a cold case of over 20 years was cracked thanks to advancements in forensic genealogy, Phoenix police were certain that the Arizona Canal Killings were finally over. However, after 42-year-old Bryan Patrick Miller was arrested, authorities learned their suspect may have been much more active than they originally thought…From 1992 to 2013, several underage girls and women went missing and were never found. Others turned up brutally murdered. The locations of these violent acts were Phoenix and Tempe, AZ and Machias, WA. As it turns out, Bryan Patrick Miller happened to be living in the areas where nearly all of these unsolved crimes took place - giving law enforcement reason to believe that they may very well have a serial killer on their hands… Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. Ep 97The Zombie Hunter (Part One)

E

(Part 1 of 2) The 1990’s was arguably one of the best decades ever. Creepy Crawlers and Barbie’s Golden Dream Motorhomes were under every Christmas tree while “Right Said Fred” was letting the world know that he was far too sexy for his shirt. While these were some of the best years for many of us, for residents of Phoenix, AZ - it was all nightmares and dreamscapes. When two women were found brutally murdered a year apart from one another, the similarities between the crime scenes were too profound to ignore. 22-year-old Angela Brosso and 17 year-old Melanie Bernas were both riding along the Arizona Canal on their bicycles in 1992 and 1993. The residents of this city were sure things couldn’t get any worse, until a 23 year old cold case wound up producing several more victims, all at the hands of one man who called himself, “The Zombie Hunter.” Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. In 1996, 17-year-old Aaron Stark of Denver, CO had made up his mind. He was going to become a school shooter. Ep 81Reasonable Doubt (Part One)

E

(Part 1 of 2) On Memorial Day in 2020, Matheau Moore awoke late after a night out on the town celebrating his wife Emily Noble’s 52nd birthday. After lazily wandering through an uneventful morning hangover, Matheau eventually realized that Emily was gone. At some point during the night or early morning, she had left behind her phone, wallet, keys, and car - and simply vanished… Written by Michael Dunphy Jr. and Michael Ojibway. Ep 80Choices

E

We’re faced with choices every day. Most are trivial and underwhelming to the point we don’t realize they’re even choices at all. Getting gas, whether or not to order take out, or the ever infamous quandary: “should I go to the gym?” There does, however, come those times when we’re forced to make more profound decisions…the type that could very well alter the trajectory of our future. We sat down for an interview with artist, public speaker, educator, and activist Blackliq. While he has achieved much in the entertainment space, his music was not the main topic of discussion. Instead, he told us exclusively and for the 1st time publicly, about the day a homicide detective showed up at his work back in 2004, informing him that his father was being charged with 1st degree murder. Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. Special thanks to Blackliq.
