Celestia: Data Availability Layer for Easily Deploying Appchains in Cosmos

Celestia co-founders Ismail Koffi and Mustafa al Bassam jump on to discuss Celestia, a blockchain that serves as the settlement and security layer for child appchains that utilize its primary feature, data availability. Data availability is a problem that was scrupulously explored in the Plasma days of 2017. Today, Celestia offers a v2 solution that builds upon the learnings from 2017 applied in the Cosmos ecosystem context rather than the Ethereum context. Mustafa had previously co-founded Chainspace, a Tendermint-based project, which was acquired by Facebook and subsequently used as the backbone for Libra. Ismail had previously been a distributed systems engineer at Google, who then joined me at Tendermint before he went on to co-found Celestia with Mustafa.
