He explains that the hard road soil is those who hear but Satan snatches away the word; the rocky soil quickly receives but cannot root deeply; the thorny soil is crowded by worries, deceit and desires; and the good soil hears, understands, and bears fruit—thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold—by holding on to the Word with honesty and perseverance. The talk also underscores the need to discern truth, to avoid distractions that choke growth, and to apply Scripture to every area of life.
