Show Notes

In our first ever remote podcast, NYSE Group Chief Operating Officer Michael Blaugrund Skyped in from his secure remote location to break down the decision to temporarily close the NYSE Trading Floor and the impact that the COVID-19 Pandemic will have on the markets and trading. Michael explains that, long before social distancing, the Exchange has been preparing for this sort of emergency contingency, starting with the first electronic trading systems that were deployed at the New York Stock Exchange in the 1950s, and extending to the present, with bringing the NYSE Pillar platform online in 2019.
