On this week’s episode of “Mizzou Storytellers,” Loretta Jones and Dave Matter have the pleasure of interviewing not one but two members of the Mizzou men’s basketball coaching staff, associate head coach Charlton “C.Y.” Young and assistant coach Kyle Smithpeters. C.Y. and Kyle share the stories of their very different backgrounds – C.Y. was born and raised in Miami, while Kyle grew up on a farm in Southern Illinois – but how their paths crossed through the sport of basketball. C.Y. details his rise from the coaching ranks, from pro ball in France to the head-coaching job at his alma mater. Kyle details his journey from becoming a junior college head coach to making the leap to Division I assistant. C.Y. and Kyle wrap up their interview with a lighting round of questions, while Dave and Loretta share thoughts on fall weather attire and Halloween costume ideas.
