S2019 Ep 1515: Ferrari: Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't

Should Ferrari use team-orders or not? They were trolled for not doing so in 2018 and now are now being trolled for doing so in 2019! As for China, we believe Ferrari was right in using team-orders. But before you jump onto us for this statement, tune in to this episode. We also talk of how 'disbelief' is governing Ferrari's title campaign for 2019 and how the team and Sebastian Vettel avoided major embarrassment in Formula 1's 1000th Grand Prix. Also in this episode, we tell you why trolling the Strolls ain't gonna work - even if Lance presses the radio instead of the energy button. We discuss the ONE reason why Mercedes would promote Esteban Ocon to a race seat, even if Valtteri Bottas does sufficiently well this year and if Romain Grosjean is some sort of a benchmark for drivers in Formula 1\. If Mclaren decide to field a full-time team in Indycar, we tell you why it would be a smart decision. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 15) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: Max Verstappen is spinning around too - just that he's spinning when it doesn't matter. 3:00-6:00: Why Lance & Lawrence Stroll deserve to be in Formula 1 - it is family business. As for Kimi Raikkonen, Formula 1 is a hobby! Is Romain Grosjean a benchmark in Formula 1? 6:00-9:00: Ferrari - damned if you do, damned if you don't - on their use or no-use of team-orders. But thank you for the BIGGEST story from Formula 1's 1000th Grand Prix 9:00-12:00: Will Toro Rosso receive an invoice from Ferrari for their brake disc cooling services in China? Will the better starting Mercedes driver end up winning the Drivers' Championship in 2019? 12:00-15:00: We discuss the ONE scenario that could see Mercedes promote Esteban Ocon to a race seat. Is Formula 1 going the Formula E way and prefering street circuits? 15:00-18:00: Ferrari-Vettel avoided major embarrassment in the qualifying session in China. Also, was the pit-wall of Red Bull Racing and Haas asleep in Q3? 18:00-end: Mclaren's decision to field a full-time Indycar team could be completely understandable and justifiable. They are trying to emulate Fernando Alonso's moves outside of Formula 1. The Inside Line F1 Podcast, a top-rated podcast on iTunes and audioBoom, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. S2019 Ep 1414: Sebastian Vettel Is Trolling The Trolls ;-)

Sebastian Vettel - from spinning on track, he's now spinning in the simulator. Is this Vettel's way of trolling his trolls? Let's remember, the German has an impeccable sense of humour too. Instead of wins, pole positions and fastest laps, his spin count (4 in the last 10 races) leads the chatter among Formula 1 fans. One thing is for sure, Vettel will bounce back. But which race will it be? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we discuss the celebrations around Formula 1's 1000th Grand Prix, a possible Verstappen-Ocon pairing at Mercedes, which driver prodigies will place his hands on the title trophy first - Leclerc or Verstappen, Formula E's new ambassadors - Bernie Ecclestone and Lewis Hamilton and of course, the possible addition of a Q4 to our ever-so-fun qualifying session. By the way, there's a 'What Villeneuve Said This Week' section. But worry not, it isn't replacing our ever-famous 'What Wolff Said This Week' section. Okay, now tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 14) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: The questions that the 2019 Chinese Grand Prix could answer. And do you really care if this is Formula 1's 1000th Grand Prix? 3:00-6:00: Aero changes or not, will the Williams car overtake any of their rivals on-track this season? Bernie Ecclestone and Lewis Hamilton - Formula E's best ambassadors? 6:00-9:00: Will Lewis Hamilton be remembered for ending the Formula 1 careers of two former World Champions - Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel too? 9:00-12:00: Sebastian Vettel trolling the trolls - are you one of them? Watch out. And did you know why Lewis Hamilton hasn't watch the Netflix-F1 show? 12:00-15:00: Verstappen-Hamilton or Verstappen-Ocon to race for Mercedes in 2020? How soon before we see a Verstappen vs. Leclerc for the title battle? Which driver would be the first to place his hand on the coveted trophy? 15:00-18:00: This is a fantastic era to be a Motorsport fan - we tell you why. Should we add a Q4 section to qualifying from the 2020 Formula 1 Season? We discuss the pros and cons. And the 'What Villeneuve Said This Week' section. 18:00-end: Lucien's 'Moments In Time' of the Chinese Grand Prix + predictions The Inside Line F1 Podcast, a top-rated podcast on iTunes and audioBoom, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. S2019 Ep 1212: Strange Start To F1 2019 - Agree Or Disagree?

The start to the 2019 Formula 1 Season has been strange. For starters, we were almost on course to see Ferrari and Mercedes' (supposed!) number 2 drivers win the opening two races while their superstar drivers were have been found lacking. Okay, more so for Sebastian Vettel than Lewis Hamilton, but we still stand by our assessment. In this week's episode, we also discuss the strange form, pace and events at Renault, Red Bull Racing and most other teams on the grid. Will Fernando Alonso's next target be to race and win the Bathurst 1000? We tell you why Alonso believes that Lando Norris is more suited to race the 2019 Mclaren car and of course, should Ferrari favour Charles Leclerc over Sebastian Vettel already? Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 12) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: The 2019 Formula 1 Season seems like the 2018 Formula 1 Season; and this is not just for Sebastian Vettel alone 3:00-6:00: Is Renault testing Daniel Ricciardo's overtaking skills? Renault are going a long way to proving equal treatment to both their drivers 6:00-9:00: What Ferrari-Mercedes might ask for to participate in the Netflix-F1 show season 2\. Any guesses? 9:00-12:00: From being paid to drive, is Sergio Perez being paid to speak...? 12:00-15:00: How did Ralf Schumacher get himself to be one of Formula 1's top-earners? And did you know that Romain Grosjean is one of France's highest paid sportsmen? 15:00-end: Could Fernando Alonso be racing in the Bathurst 1000 any time soon? Should Ferrari favour Charles Leclerc over Sebastian Vettel? The Inside Line F1 Podcast, a top-rated podcast on iTunes and audioBoom, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. S2019 Ep 99: F1 2019: Watch Out For The Rookies

The rookies are out to take Formula 1 by storm. Max Verstappen started the trend, followed by Charles Leclerc and now there's four more on the grid in 2019 - Lando Norris, George Russell, Alexander Albon and Antonio Giovinazzi. But there is something about these millennial rookies that makes them formidable talents. We can't last remember when Formula 1 had so many rookies line-up on the grid. Basically, the top-3 Formula 2 drivers from 2018 have been promoted to race in Formula 1 in 2019\. And of course, the Formula 1 grid in 2019 has 6 drivers who didn't race last season. Also in this week's episode, we have 'Moments in Time' with Lucien where he shares some of the most memorable racing moments from the Australian Grand Prix. We discuss what success would look like for every driver in 2019, Ecclestone's views on Mclaren needing a new team boss and if Ferrari-Mercedes will split the titles in the 2019 Formula 1 Season. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 09) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: Who needs what - we discuss what success would look like for every driver in the 2019 Formula1 Season - Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas 3:00-6:00: Leclerc vs. Verstappen, Gasly adjusting to the atmosphere in the Verstappen-obsessed Red Bull Racing 6:00-9:00: Nico Hulkenberg's high-profile benchmark in Daniel Ricciardo, Magnussen-Haas to drive Haas to 'best of rest' position in 2019? Lando Norris, already the 'Rookie of the Year'? 9:00-12:00: Carlos Sainz Jr.'s search for stability and security. Sergio Perez's double-edged sword, to beat the boss' son or not? Lance Stroll, can he even blame the car in 2019? 12:00-15:00: Kimi Raikkonen, PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE! Antonio Giovinazzi, the Adrian Sutil lookalike? Alexander Albon, can he be in contention for Gasly's seat at Red Bull Racing in 2020? 15:00-18:00: Life would come a full circle for Daniil Kvyat if he delivers and gets re-promoted to Red Bull Racing. He will end up partnering the very driver he was demoted to make way for. Robert Kubica, just matching George Russell would be an achievement, but we'd love to see him race in Formula E and kick-ass there. As for Russell, watch out for his words out-of-the-car. He's onto something! 18:00-21:00: Why on earth would Lewis Hamilton-Mercedes be boo-ed? Is it because he dislikes the smell of burgers and fries? Stroll Jr. is misusing the team's new investments already? 21:00-24:00: Use the Formula 1.5 rules and regulations for writing the rules for Formula 1 in 2021\. How soon can Red Bull Racing score Honda's first Formula 1 podium (since their return)? Mercedes wasn't interested in the Netflix documentary, but were certain Lewis Hamilton would've loved the opportunity to act and perform 24:00-27:00: Will Ferrari and Mercedes split the World Championship titles in 2019? Also, the 'Moments in Time' section with Lucien! The Inside Line F1 Podcast, a top-rated podcast on iTunes and audioBoom, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. S2019 Ep 77: From World Champions To Mule Champions

Williams F1 Team - is still in the pre-season spotlight; for all the wrong reasons. One wonders what it could be like once the season starts, but then, we could have other under-performers to focus on. And would that be Mclaren? Well, Helmut Marko certainly thinks so. In our pre-pre-2019 Australian Grand Prix episode, we talk about Ferrari's masterstroke for Mission Winnow or did common sense just settle in? How easy or difficult is it for one to identify the Pirelli tyres? Why Red Bull Racing need to change their points of reference and is everyone too critical about Formula 1? Finally, we have our young and budding Formula 1 podcaster/reporter from Australia, Ashley Blutman back on our show. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 07) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: Ferrari's masterstroke with Mission Winnow - two reasons why they dropped their controversial surrogate sponsor 3:00-6:00: Will Charles Leclerc be allowed to fight Sebastian Vettel? Ferrari say yes. Ferrari also say no! Sigh!! 6:00-9:00: Confused about identifying Pirelli's tyres this season? Well, you are not alone. Could 2019 be the season when Renault fades away into oblivion in the world of Formula 1? 9:00-12:00: Red Bull Racing need to leave Daniel Ricciardo and Mclaren all alone. They desperately need a change in their points of reference 12:00-15:00: Kunal's crystal ball looks into what could be the future of Robert Kubica. Formula E? Simulator driver? Or both? Unfortunately for Williams, they've gone from being former World Champions to the team that no one minds providing Pirelli with a mule car for 2021 15:00-18:00: Is everyone too critical about Formula 1? Should Formula 1 'control' the messaging that goes out from the sport and its stakeholders - the teams, drivers, etc.? 18:00-21:00: Finally, should a championship point be awarded for the fastest lap of the race? And we have Ashley Blutman, a young and avid Formula 1 fan from Australia, back on our podcast. She shares her expectations from the upcoming season and what she thinks of the Ricciardo-Renault partnership The [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b), a top-rated podcast on iTunes and audioBoom, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. S2019 Ep 66: F1 Testing: Merc's Two-Spec Approach Could Backfire

The pre-season tests of the 2019 Formula 1 Season have concluded. We share our summarised notes from #F1Testing - the bigger story being Mercedes' rumoured two-spec car approach for the season. As smart as it sounds, could such a strategy also backfire? While Williams struggled to build one car on time, Mercedes seems to have built two! We discuss this and more in this week's episode of the [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b). Also in this episode, Indy Car's usage of on-car LED panels to increase the visual experience - sounds cool! Are Formula 1's standarisation plans aimed at attracting privateer teams since no car manufacturers have shown interest? Like other professional athletes, should Formula 1 drivers have coaches as a part of their team setup? Why Kevin Magnussen hired Romain Grosjean's manager and lastly, the not-so-convincing reasons by organisers of the Dutch and Mexican Grands Prix to not host a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 06) 0:00-3:00: Our notes from the pre-season tests of the 2019 #F1 Season - whose rake was the biggest and deciphering the C-labelled Pirelli tyres 3:00-6:00: After failing to attract car manufacturers, is Formula 1 pursuing standardisation to attract more privateer teams? We discuss the possibilities, pros and cons. Also, the trailer of the Netflix documentary indicates a gross misrepresentation of the 2018 Formula 1 Season? 6:00-9:00: Indy Car to have LED panels on their racing cars from this season. Interesting addition? How soon before Mclaren's Indy Car driver Fernando Alonso tests the team's Formula 1 car in 2019? 9:00-12:00: Why Red Bull-Honda could plan to use five power units this season instead of the mandated three. Also, will Franz Tost walk the talk and give rookie driver Alexander Albon 2-3 seasons to settle in Formula 1? 12:00-15:00: Should Formula 1 drivers have driver coaches? Revealed: Why Kevin Magnussen signed Romain Grosjean's manager (Martin Reiss) as his manager too 15:00-18:00: How could Lewis Hamilton not have heard about the Triple Crown of Motorsport? Could Mercedes' two-spec car approach backfire in 2019? 18:00-end: The funny excuses from the organisers of the Dutch and Mexican Grands Prix for not wanting to host a Formula 1 race. S2019 Ep 55: F1 Testing: Spying Is The Best Form Of Flattery

The first official pre-season test of the 2019 Formula 1 season has only just concluded. Apart from Ferrari and Alfa Romeo's radically different (and similar?) front wings, what was our highlight of the test? This Ferrari engineer spying the Mclaren car in a not so spy-like manner. Given how testing form goes, we say that spying is the best form of flattery. Will Mclaren use this image in their sponsor presentations for the season? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we also talk about the other struggling Formula 1 veteran team, Williams and why it is important that fans rally in support of rather than succumb to jokes on the struggling former World Champion team. Finally, we sum up the news from the test, Rich Energy's desperate and embarrassing attempts to compete with Red Bull and how Renault needs to do better for Daniel Ricciardo, on and off track. S2019 Ep 44: Rich Energy + Red Bull = Monster?

In the 'battle of the energy drinks' in Formula 1, everyone is talking about Rich Energy vs. Red Bull Racing. But what about Monster? Wouldn't growing horns and wings make one a Monster? Yes, there's this and more in our episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. We talk about the livery reveals till date - can we also stop calling them 'car launches' please? Will Honda offer the mid-field teams a rare chance to fight for the top 3 in 2019? In which case, would you bet on Red Bull Racing fighting to be the 'best of the rest' or the winner of the Formula 1.5? Could that give us an odd Magnussen vs. Verstappen fight? Finally, we tell you why Nico Rosberg doesn't miss Formula 1\. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 4) Here's what's in store for you this season: 0:00-3:00: 'Livery and sponsor' reveals, not car launches by the Formula 1 teams, that's the truth. So why call it a 'car launch' in the first place? 3:00-6:00: The battle of the energy drinks in the world of Formula 1\. Will we have a Magnussen vs. Verstappen? Doesn't the Rich Energy logo look like the halo on the Formula 1 car? 6:00-9:00: Are the mid-field Formula 1 teams not ambitious enough? Will Honda give the other teams a rare chance to fight for 3rd place? Haas-Williams-Racing Point already embarrassing Mclaren on the title sponsor front? 9:00-12:00: Will the 2020 Formula 1 Season see the return of two champions? And of course, this week's 'What Wolff Said This Week' section. Will Ocon return to Formula 1 in 2020 as a 'heavier' driver? 12:00-15:00: Oh the irony - Markus Ericsson talks of consistency being the key to success in Indy Car. Renault could blame their steering wheel for car failures in 2019. 15:00-18:00: Red Bull Racing introduced a Spidey Mobile, while Ferrari hired Red Bull and Mercedes discards to boost their Formula 1 simulator program. Brendon Hartley to Formula E with Porsche? 18:00-end: Here's why Nico Rosberg can't be missing Formula 1 too much... S2018 Ep 4040: Man vs. Machine Intensified In F1

Formula 1 is set to introduce a new television graphics package in 2019. This could mean that drivers will not only battle each other, but against advanced artificial intelligence algorithms that will tell television viewers the probability of an overtake happening. Whether you enjoy such data or not, the 2019 Formula 1 Season will see the 'man vs. machine' fight play out on a different level altogether. Btw, the machines should already know that men have kicked their a**es in Formula 1 since inception! In this week's of the Inside Line F1 Podcast (http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b) , we discuss the outlandish 'PR statements' made by several teams and drivers, like Max Verstappen claiming that he and Charles Leclerc are Formula 1's new Lewis Hamilton-Sebastian Vettel pairing. Or when Carlos Sainz Jr. hailed the 'great' start to his career as a Mclaren driver. Or when Renault claimed that their engine will be on par with Mercedes and Ferrari in 2019. Or when Toto Wolff claimed that Mercedes missed their 2019 engine targets. Or when Marcus Ericsson fuelled the always-on IndyCar vs. Formula 1 debate. Or when Sergio Perez claimed that Lance Stroll has talent. Okay, the last statement might not be a PR one, but anyway, you get the gist of what this episode has in store for you. Lastly, we applaud Kimi Raikkonen's antics at the FIA Prize Giving ceremony. Tune in! (Season 2018, Episode 40) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: FIA Prize Giving Ceremony, RAI's applaud-worthy performances! Which act was your favourite? 3:00-6:00: Did Ferrari conspire against Marcus Ericsson? We board the Ericsson-fuelled IndyCar vs. Formula 1 debate - PR statement #1 6:00-9:00: Max Verstappen in the title race in 2019? - PR statement #2; What could plan-B be for Red Bull-Verstappen in 2020? -PR statement #3 9:00-12:00: Statements #4 & #5, Lewis Hamilton could win the Nobel Prize Award, if he wanted to; that's how blessed he has been all year long! The ONLY team to have not invited Hamilton for a test is - Ferrari! 12:00-15:00: Ferrari's improved social (media) manners, a bright sign for the times to come? And several other PR statements (we lost count!) 15:00-18:00: What Wolff Said This Week Section; why would Valtteri Bottas not want to speak to Nico Rosberg? 18:00-21:00: 2019 is going to be well and truly a 'man vs. machine, we tell you why. S2018 Ep 3939: What Year Will Alonso Be Back In F1?

Will Fernando Alonso give us a chance to miss him? What year could Alonso be back in Formula 1 - 2020, 2021 or 2022? Also, more than what year, it will also be a question of with which team. We certainly don't think it would be Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull. In this week's episode of the [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b), Mithila and Kunal wonder if Alonso's exit would see a mass exodus of fans from Formula 1 - that's exactly what happened when Michael Schumacher quit. History and statistics tell us why Stoffel Vandoorne can be a Formula E Champion. We offer Racing Point creative ways to announce their signing of Lance Stroll. Did Ferrari back the wrong driver in 2018? Forget a fast car, Renault better have a witty social media team for Daniel Ricciardo. And finally, was Lewis Hamilton's 'shirtey' moment a lame attempt to give us something more than Ricciardo's 'shoey'? Tune in! _(Season 2018, Episode 39)_ Here is what's in store for you this week: 0:00-3:00: Did ALO take a legion of fans away from Formula 1 like MSC did? 3:00-6:00: Will ALO let us miss him in Formula 1? How soon before ALO is back - 2020, 2021 or 2022? 6:00-9:00: History tells us why VAN can be a Formula E champion and can we get started with Mclaren-One Plus jokes already? 9:00-12:00: We offer Force India creative ways to announce their signing of Lance Stroll 12:00-15:00: Did Ferrari back the wrong driver in 2018? What if KUB still has it in him? 15:00-18:00: Mercedes win the Esports Championship too. They are the chosen ones this year. Forget a shoey, HAM did a shirt-y! 18:00-21:00: PER has been Force India’s saviour in every way this year. Red Bull’s discarded drivers coming to to the team’s rescue. But do they really have a future in Formula 1? 21:00-25:00: RIC’s Mercedes promotion. No one saw it coming! S2018 Ep 3535: Please Don't Take Away Our Chequered Flag

Will Lewis Hamilton clinch his 5th World Championship title at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix? Will Donald Trump follow Vladimir Putin’s lead and attend the race at the Circuit of the Americas? Well, what we are more concerned about is Formula 1 not replacing our beloved and iconic chequered flag with a digital version next season. Also in this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we express surprise at how soon before Michael Schumacher and Valentino Rossi’s records in Formula 1 and MotoGP (respectively) could be broken. It seems funny to see Lance Stroll give ‘Formula 1 career advice’ to Mick Schumacher. And of course, at Liberty Media’s home race, we applaud their marketing efforts, but wonder if they are running out of time to implement their changes for 2021\. Tune in! Here’s what’s in store for you: 0:00 - 3:00: Donald Trump would prefer HAM winning his fifth title in the USA over Mexico. But of course! 3:00 - 5:00: The average age of the American Formula 1 is 59 years! Yikes! Will Formula 1 run out of time to implement changes for 2021? 5:00 - 8:00: Addition in 2019: rear-wing end-plate lights; will they work as turn indicators? 8:00 - 11:00: MSC and ROS’ records are out to be broken very soon; can Formula 1 rivalries be like they are in the world of boxing? 11:00 - 14:00: Could ALO have won the title for Ferrari in 2018…you think so? 14:00 - 17:00: How is ALO still 7th in the WDC? HOW!? The mid-field battles are really intense. 17:00 - 20:00: Digital Chequered Flag in Formula 1? No, PLEASE, NO! 20:00 - 23:00: We understand why RBR refused VER to test a MotoGP bike; btw, COTA has installed a ‘Verstopper’ & Mithila’s ‘What Wolff Said This Week’ section 23:00 - 26:00: From no seat in 2019, to a seat with Mercedes in 2020…too good to be true? 26:00 till the end: Moments in Time by Lucien, Predictions & Bye-Bye! S2018 Ep 3232: Mick Schumacher Joins Ferrari, Obviously

Helmut Marko has denied being in talks with Mick Schumacher to join the Red Bull Junior Driver program. Could this actually be a hint that Red Bull are already in talks with the young Schumacher? There's going to be a race to sign him - who will win this one? But of course, Ferrari did. In this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast (http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b) , we have Ashley give us a brief summary of the Singapore Grand Prix and her experiences from the Marina Bay Circuit. Also, we discuss the ‘mini race’ in Miami, how Ferrari may have beaten Red Bull and Mercedes to the ‘junior driver’ game, if Formula E is already using the ‘concept 3’ Formula 1 car and if a certain Flavio could be the ambassador for Formula 1’s newly announced betting partnership. Tune in! Here's what is in store for you this week: 2:00-5:00 - HAM seeking a new challenger in his title battle, LEC could be one? 5:00-8:00 - RBR has seats, but no drivers. Mercedes have drivers, but no seats. Can RBR give KUB’s Formula 1 dreams wings? 8:00-10:00 - Ferrari ahead of the ‘junior driver’ game. If it's a Schumacher in Formula 1, it has to be with Ferrari? 10:00-13:00 - Todt vs. Brawn when it comes to new teams joining Formula 1? And of course, a ‘universal engine’ for Motorsport? Btw, Todt said ’23 Grands Prix’ calendar, yay or nay? 13:00-15:00 - Just how many manufacturers has ALO pissed off? Indy Car vs. Formula 1 at COTA in 2019 15:00-17:00 - Formula E using Formula 1’s Concept-3 already? 17:00-20:00 - Let’s make VAN have some fun; c’mon. Hats off to SIR - fantastic defences in Singapore! 20:00-23:00 - Are RBR and VER talking down Renault way too much? Did you know that VJM is RT’ing Force India’s tweets? Miami to host a ‘mini race’; what does that even mean? Turkey to make a comeback? 25:00-28:00 - What Wolff Said This Week section 28:00-end - Flavio to be the ambassador for Formula 1 Betting? S2018 Ep 3131: Leclerc Exclusive: 'I Am Not That Famous Yet!'

After weeks of rumours, the Raikkonen-Leclerc swap was finally announced. Hats off to Ferrari for making an exception and realising that an early investment in Charles Leclerc's progression in the world of Formula 1 is only going to pay them early dividends. But is this also a sign from Ferrari that they are beginning to lose hope in Sebastian Vettel's erring ways? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we have bytes from the man-on-the-move himself, Charles Leclerc. We met with the driver in the month of August and spoke to him about several topics including his dream move to Ferrari, partnering with Sebastian Vettel and how he handles the fame and pressure of being such a successful Motorsport personality. And of course, we are thrilled to see Kimi Raikkonen extend his stay in Formula 1 for a couple of more seasons. Let's enjoy our typical Raikkonen moments for as long as they last. There's a lot of Leclerc-Raikkonen-Ferrari-Sauber in this episode. Tune in! S2018 Ep 3030: Kimi Raikkonen For Vice President

Will Ferrari re-sign Kimi Raikkonen? Or will Kimi Raikkonen resign from Ferrari and Formula 1? There are tons of rumours doing the rounds last week and while we ignore them all, we wonder if Kimi Raikkonen would actually be well suited to become Vice President. In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal argue over Raikkonen's possible extension, Nico Rosberg's sudden love for Lewis Hamilton, the possibility of drivers becoming title sponsors of their home Grands Prix and Force India's fourth place in the Constructors' Championship (yes, you read that right!). S2018 Ep 2222: Points For Everyone? Please, No, F1

The 'points for all' topic is disturbing. No, please don't go down this road, Formula 1\. We've gone from awarding points to top-6 to top-8 and now 50% of the grid (top-10) scores points. By increasing the base of points scorers to 100% (all-20), we will go from incentivising drivers to win or finish higher to simply just finishing races. Is this Formula 1's way of retaining Fernando Alonso? In this week's episode of the [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b), the 'What Wolff Said This Week' section is hilarious, because Toto Wolff did have a lot to say in the 2018 British Grand Prix. We discuss if Mercedes & Haas can learn a thing of two from Force India, the epic (and rare!) Kimi Raikkonen vs. Max Verstappen battle, the creative use of DRS by the FIA and how we shouldn't be harsh in judging Stoffel Vandoorne's talent just yet. Also, we explain why the talk of Mercedes being inexperienced to handle fierce external competition is untrue. Tune in! S2018 Ep 1818: Red Bull Demote Renault, Promote Honda

Renault has joined the list of demotions at Red Bull Racing, while Honda find themselves with an unexpected promotion. In this week's episode of the [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b), Mithila and Kunal wonder what would crack first in 2019 - the Honda engine or Max Verstappen? (But of course, we're kidding!). On a serious note, Red Bull Racing seem to have a made a sensible decision, let's see if Daniel Ricciardo thinks so too. Has Winnie Harlow triggered the FIA to replace all flags altogether and digitise them? Let's hope not! In the digital version of Formula 1 (the F1 2018 video game), fans have the option to remove the central pillar of the 'halo' for better visibility, an option that almost every driver in the real world of Formula 1 would love to have to. And of course, we look forward to this weekend's French Grand Prix. Tune in! S2018 Ep 1212: The Perfect Advertisement Of Formula 1

If you have family and friends who are on-the-fence fans of Formula 1, the 2018 Bahrain Grand Prix could go a long way into dropping them onto our side of the fence. The nail-biting and edge-of-the-seat action from Bahrain was definitely the perfect advertisement that Formula 1 could ask for. In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal rejoice the season's first of many back-to-back races. They applaud Liberty Media for ensuring that there were no adverse reactions from their meeting with the teams in Bahrain (where they discussed the future of Formula 1). Also, while a brutal way to find out a system issue, Ferrari's pit error robbed us of a Kimi Raikkonen vs. Lewis Hamilton fight for the podium. They tell you why Valtteri Bottas should have definitely tried harder to overtake Sebastian Vettel and how Mclaren are actually the luckiest team on the grid right now. Will the cooler conditions in Shanghai bring Mercedes back into focus, and if so, will their 'party mode' be hotly discussed yet again? Or will Ferrari have answers to Mercedes' pace in the 2018 Chinese Grand Prix too? Tune in! Ricciardo: The Only Happy Red Bull Driver

What does Max Verstappen need to do to finish a race this season? His dismal luck reminds us of Michael Schumacher's 2000 title campaign! Either way, it is time Verstappen goes woo-ing his Lady Luck, again. Maybe, Red Bull Racing needs to rename the RB13 to get rid of the bad luck! In the Red Bull Racing ecosystem, Daniel Ricciardo seems to be the only driver 'happy'. Carlos Sainz Jr. had a public spat regarding his future; given Red Bull Racing's attitude, he should be glad it wasn't a public slap. As for Daniil Kvyat, he was let off leniently by the FIA for his 'torpedo' move, but will Red Bull Racing let him off as lightly? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal wonder how and why are people expecting Valtteri Bottas to be the third title contender for the season. Has he done enough to warrant a contract extension with Mercedes? Similarly, Fernando Alonso is in high demand. Maybe he should approach a multi-team contract option for 2018. You'll have to tune-in to understand this crazy idea of ours better. Finally, Mclaren have suggested that Formula 1 should purchase Silverstone. Given Mclaren's recent Formula 1 decisions, we'd advise Carey & Team to just ignore that suggestion. Tune in! Have Ferrari Forgotten Team Orders?

After the incredible Chinese Grand Prix, we wondered what most Ferrari fans would've wondered - why did Ferrari not ask Kimi Raikkonen to move over and let Sebastian Vettel pass? Could this strategic move have altered the race result? Did this 'no team order' strategy blunder cost Ferrari more than their tyre strategy for Vettel? Frankly, we're happy that Ferrari let their drivers race. Yes, it's unusual, but it is something that Mercedes and Red Bull Racing have been doing since ages. Thank you, Ferrari. And since we're thanking people, thank you Max Verstappen for a fantastic charge up the grid. The Chinese Grand Prix also confirmed two things: First, we're about to witness a closely contested season after many many many years! It'll be a Ferrari vs. Mercedes to start with and we're praying Red Bull Racing join the action too. Second, it'll be Vettel vs. Hamilton battle for the Drivers' Championship and Bottas vs. Raikkonen for the Constructors' Championship. In this week's episode, our hosts look forward to the first double header racing weekend of the season. Yes, we'll be racing in Bahrain in a few days. Should Bernie Ecclestone buy Interlagos just to have some fun with the new boys running Formula 1? Could Fernando Alonso deflect to Williams in 2018? Bye-Bye Sepang and hello Nurburgring or Hockenheim? Okay, can we have both? Tune in! Mclaren Is The Fan Favourite For 2017

As we near the start of the 2017 Formula 1 Season, Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing are busy trading the 'favourites' tag with each other. In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal tell you that despite their lack of pace and reliability, Mclaren-Honda are definitely the fan favourite for 2017. The million dollar questions staring at Formula 1 right now are: Will Mercedes unleash more pace? Will Mclaren-Honda be able to go the full race distance? Also, does Daniel Ricciardo have a new party trick for 2017? Because we know that Max Verstappen does. Liberty Media have re-branded GP2 to F2, but with F3 already there, what will they brand GP3 to? And we were most glad when they admitted that traditional races in Europe are key to Formula 1's future. The new owners of the sport seem to be making the right noises (again). Is this why Bernie Ecclestone chose to not stay on? Tune in! Sorry Mclaren, Sauber Is On Pole!

Sauber is on pole position - to launch 2017's first Formula 1 car. The strange part is that two relatively unknown drivers (Ericsson and Wehrlein) will unveil the new looking Formula 1 car. Given the excitement around the new look, couldn't Formula 1 (read: Liberty Media) get some of their superstar drivers to do so? But this pole position works well for Sauber. It is a PR masterstroke. This unveil might garner them more publicity than the previous two seasons put together. As for Mclaren, they almost clinched pole! Their agency might have just leaked their livery images on social media. PS: Williams' unexpected reveal on Autosport/Motorsport was after this podcast was recorded and published. Nico Rosberg wants to go back to being friends with Lewis Hamilton. Is it easier for him to say so now that he's beaten him? Either way, we think Rosberg-Hamilton could be the Rocky Balboa-Apollo Creed of Formula 1. And in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we dissect Juan Pablo Montoya's comment on 'weak' European drivers, the engine fire-up by teams, Kimi Raikkonen's karaoke skills and new bar and Fernando Alonso's really cool emojis. Let's Bring Juan Pablo Montoya Back To Formula 1

Is this Formula 1's busiest 'off-season' yet? There's been an overdose of stories in this period: from Mercedes hiring Valtteri Bottas as Nico Rosberg's replacement, Formula 1's sale and Bernie Ecclestone being forcibly replaced to Juan Pablo Montoya's Race of Champions victory on debut and Sebastian Vettel's single-handled efforts winning Germany their 7th Race of Champion Nations Cup! (PS: we love the Juan 'juan' ROC jokes!) In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we tell you why Formula 1 would never go the Race of Champions way, even if it is a fun format. We also decode why Max Verstappen might never participate in the ROC. Pascal Wehrlein's crash was heart-stopping! Does it worry Monisha (Kaltenborn) about her budgets for 2017? And did anyone notice the fan seated next to Wehrlein? Through the entire crash, this fan was on his (or her) phone shooting content! We'd love to see the fan's footage. If you've not seen this picture yet, go over to our Facebook page. Finally, Formula 1's sale saw the unthinkable but the long overdue happen - Bernie Ecclestone's dismissal. Much like Formula 1 hopes to benefit by bringing Ross Brawn back, we're sure the sport can benefit much by bringing back the uber talented and mercurial Juan Pablo Montoya. Tune in! Mercedes vs Red Bull = Engine vs Aero

If we are treated to a Mercedes vs. Red Bull Racing contest in 2017, it could well be an 'engine vs. aero' battle given Mercedes' superior power unit and Red Bull Racing's aero prowess. But well, Bernie Ecclestone doesn't believe that Mercedes will be challenged this season too. Sigh! On this 'engine vs. aero' debate, we're reminded of Enzo Ferrari's famous quote 'aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines' and this does seem true for Red Bull Racing - who have publicly declared that they'll be fighting for wins only in the second half of 2017! Sigh! (yet again!) In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we discuss the Renault-Magnussen-Haas love-hate relationship, possible retirement options for Jolyon Palmer, Mclaren's sponsor-friendly statements and even though we narrowly missed the Valtteri Bottas to Mercedes announcement, we still got it right in this episode. While Mercedes made the most of the positive PR around their second cockpit, they do need lessons on how to maintain suspense! Tune in! Sergio Perez Reveals His Prankster Self

After bringing to you Nico 'The Hulk' Hulkenberg last week, we bring to you Sergio 'Checo' Perez this week. Tune in to hear Checo's favourite radio message and how he played a prank on his former team, Sauber. And of course, no prizes for guessing which driver's radio he would enjoying listening to the most. Apart from Checo's bytes, Mithila and Kunal discuss how Felipe Massa might just go from Formula 1's 'shortest ever' (in terms of time) World Champion to logging the sport's 'shortest ever' (again, in terms of time) retirement. To think of it, it was Jenson Button who was seeking a sabbatical and not Massa! We empathize with Pascal Wehrlein - who must be feeling horrible after being snubbed by Force India and now Mercedes and possibly Williams too. On the other hand, Stoffel Vandoorne might not be doing himself many favours by selecting the number '2' as his driver number in Formula 1\. Finally, if the future of the road relevant Formula 1 engines could be electric, why are we not following Formula E already? Merry Christmas! Tune in! The Best Driver Did Not Win

As the Hamilton vs. Rosberg title battle goes down to the wire, the big question is who will win the 2016 World Drivers' Championship. While the odds may be stacked in Rosberg’s favour, this is Formula 1 – and nothing’s over till it’s over. Could Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing be Lewis Hamilton’s best ally in the ‘duel of the desert'? Here’s a prediction we’re going to stick our heads out and make – respective of the outcome, when fans look back on the season they’ll probably believe that ‘the best driver did not win'. Niki Lauda thinks that Max Verstappen could be the greatest ever Formula 1 driver – but he needs to be “careful” on his way. Cute that Lauda still thinks that Max will listen to him. As we all know, Max Verstappen listens to NOBODY! Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz admits that the drivers themselves don't understand Formula 1's rules. What hope do we ordinary mortals have then? Bernie Ecclestone said some pretty interesting (and scandalous) things last week. He said Singapore “was just an airport” before Formula 1 happened and talked about Americans and their short attention spans. Bernie proposed a new double header race format and we tell you what we think about it. Of course, as fans, we're thrilled! Mithila’s wish for Abu Dhabi is for fans to be treated to a serious Hamilton vs. Rosberg wheel to wheel battle on track. Could there be a better way to decide the World Championship? Formula 1 bids goodbye to two great drivers, Felipe Massa and Jenson Button. Finally, we make a confident prediction about Verstappen in Abu Dhabi. Tune in! Forget Rosberg vs Hamilton, 2016 Is Verstappen's Year

The 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix could have given Formula 1 a new World Champion, but it didn't. However, it confirmed a fact that didn't need much confirming - that Max Verstappen is absolute World Champion material. Irrespective of the outcome of the World Drivers' Championship, 2016 will be remembered for the brilliance of Max Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton won his first-ever race in Ayrton Senna's land ensuring that Abu Dhabi hosts the title decider yet again. We guess that Bernie Ecclestone and the Sheikhs would be very pleased given the amount of money they pay as hosting fees! On the inside Line F1 Podcast this week, we laugh over Fernando Alonso’s sense of humour. He was a horrible cameraman, but hey, at least he gave us a good laugh! Alonso also said that F1 should pay fans to watch the sport. Though ironically, thanks to all his engine woes, Alonso has been the sports highest paid viewer for the better part of the last two seasons! The success of the wet race in Brazil makes us wonder whether Bernie’s sprinkler idea is all that bad after all! Pirelli’s extreme wet tyres are so bad, but then we guess that’s true of all their tyres. Felipe Massa had an emotional farewell in Brazil, and we are sure that Jenson Button was slightly jealous – though that’s the price you pay for not making up your mind! And a gutsy Sergio Perez dumped his new sponsor on Twitter for a joke that clearly wasn’t funny. Finally, the big question: As we head to the title decider in Abu Dhabi, who is going to emerge as World Champion? Tune in! Let's Not Belittle The Formula 1 Drivers' Championship

The 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix could be a Grand Prix of firsts for the Mercedes drivers. Lewis Hamilton could win his first-ever Brazilian Grand Prix OR Nico Rosberg could win his first-ever Formula 1 Drivers' Championship. Let's hope the 'best driver' wins. In which case, shouldn't it then be Fernando Alonso? We're loving the suspense and surprise of title fight this season and don't mind it being taken forward to Abu Dhabi. After all, there's finally some surprise in the sport other than Max Verstappen! Unless, of course, you're Robbie Williams. While Abu Dhabi pays millions hoping to host a 'title decider', Brazil has done so 6 times in our recent memory. By the way, the 2012 edition of the race was also Mclaren and Jenson Button's last win. What are the bets we could be repeating this statistic for Mclaren this time, next year? As we look forward to Interlagos, we share our vivid memories of a circuit that made Timo Glock world famous. We also remember a rare and unexpected robbery attempt on Jenson Button, Adrian Newey's Red Bull Racing 'tank' that withstood a bang in 2012 and Schumi helping Baby Schumi to his 3rd world title. Will Nico Rosberg be able to race in Brazil without thinking of the Drivers' Championship? He's made the 'race-by-race' approach work, till date. We're sure that mind games will be at their absolute best. And as tough as it will ever be, we try and settle this whole 'Does Nico Rosberg deserve the Drivers' Championship?' debate. Let's remember, by saying that someone was 'lucky' to win a Formula 1 Drivers' Championship, that too in its longest season ever, might be belittling the title in itself! As for Lewis Hamilton, we hope he's learning lessons from Serena Williams on how to thwart a 'match point'. Actually, who better than Williams to teach him. Gravel traps, yes or no? Formula 1 has senseless penalties. It would be good to see some sensible ones applied too, especially for exceeding track limits. All sports have one. In fact, the one sport that doesn't is World Wrestling Entertainment. And how on earth did Sebastian Vettel go scot free after his expletive laden radio message in Mexico? It is one thing to not respect competitors, but it is another to not respect the Race Director. The least they should've done was strip him of his 'Driver of the Day' award. But the FIA isn't in setting examples, so we shouldn't be surprised. Fernando Alonso has called the current Formula 1 as Formula 1/2 (or Formula 0.5)! This is probably better than being classified as GP2. If Ross Brawn is indeed interested in working on the long term plans for the sport, it should include a robust part that should have the best drivers on the grid race in Formula 1 cars and not Formula 0.5! Finally, just when we thought that almost no one would be been interested in learning from Formula 1, an Olympic Champion has indicated how skiing should use Formula 1 qualifying system at their World Cups. This comes in a year when we almost ditched the only thing that's working well in the sport. Tune in! (Season 2016, Episode 37) The Inside Line F1 Podcast is hosted by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. And That's How The FIA Avoided The Shoey On The Podium

FIA was sneaky in its ways to keep the shoey off the podium. We had an instance where 3 drivers were classified 3rd at least once. Thank you FIA, for embarrassing Formula 1. And thank you (not!) for ensuring the shoey man doesn't find himself on the podium, during the podium. Daniel Ricciardo's shoey was missed in Mexico, but is it time for a new party trick? We're excited to know what it could be and how he's going to up that game! The Mexico Grand Prix will be remembered for the FIA's inconsistent stewardship. One that saw Max Verstappen get penalty for doing a 'Lewis Hamilton', even when Hamilton himself didn't get one. And of course, Sebastian Vettel realised that the only driver who gets away by doing 'The Verstappen' is Max Verstappen himself. What else did this episode teach us? Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have friends in the FIA, but Sebastian Vettel certainly doesn't. In fact, after his tirade of abusive, there's little doubt there. Should Lewis Hamilton have received a penalty? Probably, yes. Max Verstappen too? If Hamilton did, then yes, if not, then no. But Sebastian Vettel? We think not! Are they over-regulating the sport by trying to curb natural instincts of a racing car driver? But, we expect further sanctions towards Sebastian Vettel for dropping the F-bomb. A race ban? Or something far worse? Eventually, we hope that Liberty Media realise how bunching the teams up and making them compete impacts the sport. A Verstappen vs. Vettel vs. Ricciardo is exactly what the sport needs, minus the swearing, of course. Are Hamilton's start issues a thing of the past? We'll be glad, if they are. After all, blaming a clutch for losing the Drivers' Championships sounds very lame. We've been talking about Nico Rosberg and his 'match points' as we near the end of the 2016 season. But since when did we start calling it a 'match point'? This isn't tennis! Is Max Verstappen a threat to Hamilton or Rosberg in the Drivers' Championship? Are we the only ones fearing that he could crash into either driver in the remaining two races? He almost knocked Rosberg out of the race in Mexico! After witnessing the Mexico Grand Prix, we are forced to agree with Ecclestone's idea on building walls to ensure drivers race within track limits. And, Fernando Alonso was rated as 'the best Formula 1 driver' in an impromptu vote between 9 journalists. 8 out of those 9 voted for Alonso, barring one. We investigate who this journalist could be. And finally, will Ross Brawn return to save Formula 1? We certainly hope that he does. Because given the movements in Formula E, we definitely should be considering an Inside Line Formula E Podcast! Verstappen vs. Ricciardo For Victory In Singapore, Possible?

Mercedes to be challenged in Singapore, really? Or is this yet another Ferrari-inspired pre-race PR hype? Singapore has been tagged as Red Bull Racing’s track, and boy are we excited! Will we get to see some Verstappen vs. Ricciardo action (and will Red Bull Racing let it be a fair fight!)? To keep his championship hopes alive, Nico Rosberg must fight against all odds in Singapore. Forget winning, he's not been on the podium here since 8 years! At the same time, he had his ‘first-ever’ wins in Spa and Monza in the last fortnight, can he keep up that trend? We hope his 'FOMO' drives him to the top step on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton is good for Formula 1 and for our podcast. The last episode should have been called 'Lewis Hamilton's Team-Mate Wins In Italy' to get more people to tune in! In a lot of ways, Rosberg is fighting not only Hamilton, but an entire mentality in the paddock (and the million fans) who believe that Hamilton is meant to be World Champion. Max Verstappen and Niki Lauda had a public face-off, will they visit a psychiatrist together to bond? Glad we’re reminded that Verstappen is still a teenager by his typical teenage back answering. Given the lacking bromance between Lauda and Verstappen, we are glad that Verstappen didn’t sign with Mercedes. But for how long can they remain apart? We welcome the new owners of Formula 1 to Formula 1 and to the Inside Line F1 Podcast, of course. The new owners say they will evolve the business model of F1 to generate more revenue. We think they should also fix the regulations that don't allow us too much competition these days. They've picked up the profitable business of Formula 1, but will they be able to make the eco-system of Formula 1 stable and profitable too? Also, will the American owners be at their toughest best when negotiating with the Russian Grand Prix organisers? Official Live Streaming (rather than just Official Live Timing) is the next big introduction that Formula 1 should make. Just btw, MotoGP has had theirs since almost a decade! Speaking of the spirit of competition, did Mercedes actually help Ferrari improve? And if so, Ferrari were foolish to not seek help from Red Bull Racing too. Luckily they weren’t so foolish so as to seek help from Mclaren! It certainly looks like a season of retirements - Massa, possibly Button and now Ecclestone too? Or will Ecclestone’s be a sabbatical genuinely? One thing’s for sure, we aren’t retiring any time soon. Tune In! Kimi Raikkonen Finally Wins Something

Kimi Raikkonen finally won something - the ‘Driver of the Day’ in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Did Max Verstappen's fans vote for him as a 'thank you' gesture for not overtaking their driver again? And of course, we applaud Lewis Hamilton’s perfect race start - one that took him nearly 10 races to master. Not to forget, his ‘international hand gesture’ to a lesser known Esteban Gutierrez. Nico Rosberg’s third (or fourth?) consecutive date with the FIA Stewards? Did they pull him up three hours after qualifying because they didn’t have better Saturday night plans? We tell why it is brave of Mercedes and Nico Rosberg to extend their contract by two full seasons. Pascal Wehrlein might not be the only one; the news of their extension has upset a hopeful Pastor Maldonado too. Max Verstappen vs. Kimi Raikkonen, yet again. Martin Brundle termed Verstappen’s defence against Raikkonen as ‘junior formulae’ like. Then we wonder why watch Formula 1 if ‘junior formulae’ racing can be this much fun! Also, Formula 1’s ticket sales grew 6% in 2015. That’s also the year Max Verstappen started racing - just saying! P7 and applaud for Fernando Alonso’s consistency. Are Mclaren-Honda the best of the rest really? Anyway, who will have the last laugh - Alonso or Vettel? They’ve differed in their bets on Ferrari being THE team to beat Mercedes in the near future. Ferrari’s desperation in wanting to win in Formula 1 shows in their approaching Ross Brawn. We’d love to see them reunite and re-work their magic, but it seems highly unlikely. And will Williams sign Red Bull Racing’s to-be-fired Daniil Kvyat? It seems that the FIA tend to get more ridiculous each time we point our their ridiculousness. So its best we leave aside the recent ‘radio rules’ clarification, much like we did so to the ‘elimination based’ qualifying format or the double points system. Our heart goes out to Bernie Ecclestone’s family in the wake of the news of his mother-in-law (who is by the way younger than him) being kidnapped in Brazil. We try and wonder who these kidnappers could be - on a lighter note only. Nico Rosberg and Mercedes’ home is the upcoming German Grand Prix. While they will win, will he? We’ve got the second half of the season ahead of us and all to play for. Game on! (Season 2016, Episode 25) The Inside Line F1 Podcast is hosted by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. Paddock Conspiring To Crown Lewis Hamilton World Champion Again?

Lewis Hamilton may have won in Canada, but it was the second time this season he was gifted a victory. First by Red Bull Racing and now by Ferrari – it seems like the entire paddock is conspiring to have Lewis Hamilton as World Champion again! Pity Justin Bieber wasn’t around to celebrate with Lewis on the podium. Max Verstappen or Carlos Sainz Jr. – which future World Champion had a better race in Canada? And Kimi Raikkonen could learn a trick or two from Verstappen's brilliant defence over Nico Rosberg's charges in Canada. What’s common between a Formula 1 race and the Amber Lounge bar menu? We tell you. Speaking of conspiracies, Daniel Ricciardo had a slow pit-stop again (and we are not surprised). Should he jump ship to Ferrari? Given his recent slump, is it game over for Nico Rosberg this season already? His four consecutive race wins seem too far away. Formula 1 pitches its tent in Baku this weekend for the European Grand Prix. We tell you what to look out for and the best seats in the stands. We also pray it’s an exciting race, because they say it'll be around for ten long years. Tune in! Max Verstappen, Talent Of The Century

Lewis Hamilton must be pissed with Niki Lauda for two reasons - first, Lauda blamed Hamilton for the Mercedes collision and second, Lauda called Max Verstappen the 'talent of the century.' Well, for that compliment, even Sebastian Vettel must be pissed! Max Verstappen's maiden race victory on his Red Bull Racing debut gives us plenty to cheer about. We heard the Dutch national anthem on the Formula 1 podium for the first time ever and it seems fans should get used to hearing this anthem very often. The 'Civil War' that broke out on track between the Mercedes drivers - who was to blame? We give you our view, but we wonder if the Lauda-Hamilton bromance has actually come to a premature end. Did Red Bull Racing favour a Verstappen win over Ricciardo? For a brand built on 'shock marketing', a Verstappen win would and was perfect PR for their 'Gives You Wings' tagline. Horner has labelled Verstappen as the 'future' of Red Bull Racing - will they now chase the Formula 1's 'Youngest World Champion' record? And where does this leave Ricciardo? We find amusement in Alonso's lack of power (yes, it's still funny), Kimi racing against both generations of Verstappens and Vettel's cranky rants. Also, is Red Bull Racing Ferrari's Young Drivers' Program? Tune in! Lewis Hamilton, Can He? Will He?

With a 36-point deficit in the Drivers' Championship, can and will Lewis Hamilton win his fourth title in 2016? Will Nico Rosberg's lady luck shine all season long? While Ferrari vs. Mercedes might seem to be a farce, Nico Rosberg vs. Lewis Hamilton is serious business, say Mithila and Kunal in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. Apart from Hamilton's race notes, Rosberg needs to read and learn from his party notes. Burger King, like really? And we ask the question everyone wants to - are Hamilton's off-track activities making him lose focus on-track? He might not have anymore jokers left, but isn't he the joker himself? APPLAUD! All 22 cars finished the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix, 3 different teams made it to the podium and Fernando Alonso finished his first full race of the season. APPLAUD! Could Raikkonen and Ricciardo have raced to the podium had it not been for their opening lap issues? Also, did Mercedes try too hard to get Hamilton to test all of Pirelli's compounds in China? We tell you why Force India is a dream team as they 'follow their leader' and has Haas run out of 'beginner's luck'? 18 driver, 18 bills and 18 credit card payments - it seems that DUTCH is the flavour of the Formula 1 season. We also speculate why Raikkonen, Palmer, Magnussen and Haryanto missed the #racingunited dinner in China. Finally, 22 minutes to dry a damp patch on the main straight? Whoever said that the Chinese are most efficient! Tune in! Vettel Should Replace Ecclestone As F1's CEO

Sebastian Vettel recently said that he fails to understand the 'selfie generation' and social media. This is possibly why he is 'most suited' to replace Bernie Ecclestone as F1's oh-so-important CEO, say Mithila and Kunal in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. The leaked payment reports also indicated that Mclaren-Honda were paid nearly $82 million in 2015 - a tad too much to pay for entertainment alone! On that note, will Fernando Alonso miss racing in China too? Another chance for Stoffel Vandoorne to be the next Max Verstappen? Honda announced that they will focus on 'power' in their 'power'units; a season too late? And we also bring to you our special feature - 'Hamming Around With Lewis Hamilton'. After being humiliated by Fernando Alonso in public a few weeks ago, Johnny Herbert decided to strike back via a video starring his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton. Could the famous 'MSC' abbreviation be back in F1? Why the Chinese Grand Prix could be shorter? And finally, why Hamilton might have none or very few followers in China? And btw, F1 now has a Tinder-type app for their Paddock Club guests. We tell you more, tune in! Ferrari Should Sign Max Verstappen

In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal tell you why Ferrari should sign up Max Verstappen at the expense of letting go the yet-to-find-form Kimi Raikkonen. We explain why there's no 'crisis in Formula 1' and wonder what Haas Racing's real pace is. As we THANK GOD that Flavio Briatore isn't Bernie Ecclestone's successor, we wonder if Formula 1 needs a Narendra Modi too? The dubious qualifying format, Pirelli tyres, Ferrari vs. Mercedes - so much to look forward to in Bahrain, including Toro Rosso scoring their first points ever? And obviously, there's no incentive to race to the podium in Bahrain for Kimi Raikkonen (we tell you why!). And finally, did Kunal crack his best F1 joke ever in this episode? Tune in and find out. And while you wait for the five red lights to go out, tune in to the pre-Australian Grand Prix episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. Mithila and Kunal talk about how Lewis Hamilton is the ONLY one who is seemingly having the best start to the new season already. They also reveal Williams’ strategy to beat Force India while Red Bull Racing prove that the best way to react to being beaten is to quit! We tell you why a Hamilton-Vettel pairing MIGHT just be needed in 2017, or better, a Hamilton-Alonso pairing in 2018. 'Can Nico Rosberg FINALLY beat Lewis Hamilton?’ - our prediction on THE story of 2016. Lastly, Jenson Button could be in his last Formula 1 season. Tune in to find out why. New F1 Season, Old F1 Problems

The new F1 season is approaching alright, but the same old problems seem to be weighing the sport down (again). Sauber is struggling to pay salaries (again) and the probability of a single team dominating 2016 looms large (again). Alonso's age old problems continue (pun intended, again) and so does the midfield teams' struggle to make the most of their budgets (again). In this episode of The Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila & Kunal tell you the real reason why Toto Wolff sold his final stake in Williams and why McLaren needs to fix the Azerbaijan GP. Also, we dwell into 'driverless' cars and what if they are introduced in Formula 1. Lastly, here's why Kimi Raikkonen was the first driver EVER to test the 'halo' concept. Tune in! What If Hamilton Had Raced For Red Bull Racing?

Taking cue from Christian Horner's statements, Mithila and Kunal speculate on 'what if' Lewis Hamilton had raced for Red Bull Racing from 2012. Would he still be a triple World Champion? And what about Sebastian Vettel and of course, Mark Webber? While Horner disclosed that he encouraged Mercedes to sign up Hamilton, we wonder who encouraged Mclaren to partner with Honda. We discuss the influx of new talent in Formula 1 and if people are drunk to be joining Manor F1 Team, and maybe Mclaren too? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we initiate a 'Hopeless Happenings' section where we talk about the return of refuelling, louder engine sounds in 2016 and Force India's on-off deal with 'Aston-off Martin'. Not to forget Toto Wolff's insulting (or flattering?) comments on his wife and former F1 driver Suzie and Kevin Magnussen's attempt to woo Renault. Tune in! What If Hamilton Had Raced For Red Bull Racing?

Taking cue from Christian Horner's statements, Mithila and Kunal speculate on 'what if' Lewis Hamilton had raced for Red Bull Racing from 2012. Would he still be a triple World Champion? What about Sebastian Vettel and of course, Mark Webber? While Horner disclosed that he encouraged Mercedes to sign up Hamilton, we wonder who encouraged Mclaren to partner with Honda. We discuss the influx of new talent in Formula 1 and if people are drunk to be joining Manor F1 Team, and maybe Mclaren too? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we initiate a 'Hopeless Happenings' section where we talk about the return of refuelling, louder engine sounds in 2016 and Force India's on-off deal with 'Aston-off Martin'. Not to forget Toto Wolff's insulting (or flattering?) comments on his wife and former F1 driver Suzie and Kevin Magnussen's attempt to woo Renault away from Pastor Maldonado's millions. Tune in! Year Of The Underdog

**See a video clip of this episode: https://youtu.be/79u1gXSppG8** No, this episode isn't about Lewis Hamilton or his dog Roscoe. But the spotlight is on the underdogs of the sport - the Force India F1 Team and IF they will bull-y Red Bull or Williams this season. Mithila and Kunal offer perspective on the team's ambition to finish 4th in 2016, what it would take to get there and who they will need to beat en route. And as Kevin Magnussen waits for a few of the current drivers to retire, our hosts tell you that a retired F1 driver's life isn't too boring after all. Tune in! Ecclestone Steps Down

So it seems that the Ecclestone surname isn’t necessarily a ticket to outstanding business acumen say Mithila and Kunal in the last episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. And by last, we mean the last of 2015. Happy New Year! They wonder if the Lauda-Hamilton bromance was timed with Lewis-Nicole’s split and if Toto is Formula 1’s ‘crying wolf’! Is Raikkonen capable of aiding Vettel’s title challenge? Could Kevin Magnussen have helped save Jenson Button-Jessica Michibata’s marriage? They talk about Renault’s smart $1.50 purchase of Lotus but believe the French manufacturer is displaying lack of smartness when it comes to their driver line-up. And lastly, on the second anniversary of his life-threatening accident, they pray for Michael Schumacher’s speedy recovery. Tune in! Time For A Prost-Pastor Bromance

Alain Prost is rumoured to play a Niki Lauda-type role for Renault when they return as a manufacturer team to Formula 1 in 2016. Would this mean that a Prost-Pastor bromance is in the offing a la Lauda-Hamilton? In a week when Hamilton revealed that he was 'dyslexic', Mithila and Kunal try and figure why he labelled his fellow drivers as 'squares', possibly the most non-aerodynamic of all shapes. Apart from discussing the Sainz-Verstappen pairing, the duo also reveal why Kimi Raikkonen found Ferrari to be a 'happier' place in 2015. And lastly, can't Mercedes and Ferrari manufacture their power trains in China or India to make them more affordable? Tune in! Russia vs. USA In Formula One Too?

Congrats Mercedes for dominating and winning the 2015 Formula 1 Constructors' Championship. Congrats to Sergio Perez and Force India for a well earned podium finish in Russia. But this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast has much much more. Mithila and Kunal wonder if Vladmir Putin's interest in F1 in Russia puts Barack Obama under any pressure to match up at the upcoming GP in America. Is there a Russia vs. USA cold war developing in F1? They also talk of Raikkonen's Maldonado styled move on Bottas, Alonso's possible retirement in 2018, Sainz's luck at turn 13 in Sochi, Pirelli's disastrous PR skills and if making team radio private makes any sense. Daniil Kvyat, Hot Or Not?

As we near the Russian GP, Mithila and Kunal put the lesser spoken about Red Bull racer Daniil Kvyat through the 'hot or not' test. They tell you why despite being the ONLY Russian driver on the grid he will still be ONLY second most popular. Apart from the Russian GP, the duo talk about how the fight now and in 2016 could be to stay off the back row of the grid and if Grosjean's signing up with Haas with Ferrari in sight for 2017 makes any sense. They also tell you how and why Chandon signed up with Mclaren before pointing out how a certain Mr. E has almost ruled out Hulkenberg winning any race next season. And if you're one of those who believe that Mercedes could struggle in Russia (given the tyre compounds are same as Singapore), think again and then tune in! Vettel Beats Hamilton (And Senna)

Much against public expectations, it was Sebastian Vettel and NOT Lewis Hamilton who bettered Ayrton Senna's race wins record in Singapore. And this was after clinching a scintillating win under the lights! Join Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast as they wonder if this was a Ferrari resurgence or a one-off victory. (Season 2015, Episode 32) They discuss a race where almost nothing went as per plan and just when the driver market got boring, it is the engine market that's leading the rumour mills. After Singapore, it's exciting to assume that a Red Bull Racing - Ferrari combo would be a lethal racing car. And as they look forward to Suzuka, here's a BIG thank you to Ferrari for fuelling competition in Formula1! The Inside Line F1 Podcast is hosted by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. Lewis Hamilton > Ayrton Senna?

Is Lewis Hamilton greater than Ayrton Senna? Should he win in Singapore, he could be so, at least statistically say Mithila and Kunal in the latest episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. This week too, the FIA joined us in delivering humour to our listeners - we still can't get over the record 168 grid penalties! And thankfully, they didn't deliver to the Tifosi a dream result of a Ferrari victory via a post-race disqualification for Lewis Hamilton. The duo discuss why Honda and Renault would be envious of Pirelli's position in the sport and if Bernie could save Lotus by funding them a few millions, we can't decode the strange logic as to why he wouldn't be interested in saving the iconic circuit of Monza. The 'luck of the number 2' struck Nico Rosberg, whose championship challenge (i.e. if he was in one) only got tougher. As for Kimi Raikkonen, we wonder what Ferrari's radio messages to him were for his delayed start. Lastly, we have proof that F1 FANS LOVE DRS, hover over to our Facebook page and see it for yourself! Hamilton's Bad Hair Days Are Here To Stay

Lewis Hamilton has had a near flawless season or has he? In the latest episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila and Kunal pick the one flaw that has dogged the reigning World Champion on the podium all season long. And as they look forward to Monza, they talk about Mclaren's new excuses, Honda's engine comparison claims, the on-going Vettel-Pirelli saga and the support each camp has received, Lauda-Hamilton's bromance and offer a solution on how Lotus should settle Charles Pic's dues with the team. Lastly, they're kicked about Patrick Dempsey's attempt to make a TV series on the 1961 World Championship. Tune in to know why you should be kicked too!
