But first the guys recount a sad weekend that saw the demise of Hopkins Lacrosse and the passing of legend Richie Moran. They discuss both topics, and then bring in writer, IL contributor and friend Christian Swezey to talk about Coach Moran’s legacy. Swezey is the author of a new book, “We Showed Baltimore: the Lacrosse Revolution of the 1970s and Richie Moran’s Big Red.”One of the key games this week features Army West Point and Boston University, and Mark had a chance to talk to Terriers’ head coach, Ryan Polley. In the interview they discuss the success of this year’s Terriers, spring boarding out of the tough 2021 pandemic season, the leadership of the senior class, coaching lacrosse at a “hockey school,” the Patriot League gauntlet, and of course, T Anthony’s.

The boys are back together and this time Peet Poillon and Matt Bocklet run a three-man weave with Christopher Newport head coach Mikey Thompson, who has the Captains 16-0 and IL's No. 1-ranked team with their regular season complete. Cooper Perkins is relatively new to box lacrosse, but the San Diego Seals' play-by-play announcer loves the indoor version of the game that he played outside growing up and he is diving deep. Perkins has created Lax Metrics, a website where he analyzes existing box score information and has created interesting new statistics to provide a deeper analytical view of the players in the National Lacrosse League. Perkins joins host Stephen Stamp this week to share the genesis, the goals and the methods of Lax Metrics in a wide-ranging and interesting conversation that is sure to help even veteran box lacrosse folks gain a deeper understanding of the sport.

The Jacksonville Dolphins are off to a 10-2 start and in line for the No. 1 seed in the SoCon Tournament, and much of the credit for this year's ascent goes to assistant coaches Chris Perzinski and Tyler Granelli. Peet Poillon is traveling this week, so Terry Foy fills in, joining Matt Bocklet to talk with the North Florida duo.

One of the viral moments of last lacrosse weekend was Maryland’s win over UAlbany, which — due to weather — had to be relocated at the last minute, played indoors at the recently renovated Jones-Hill House, previously known as Cole Fieldhouse. As a result, the technology wasn’t in place to broadcast or stream it via the Maryland athletics department’s standard platforms. Terps’ Director of Strategic Communications Jason Yellin was determined to get the game out to those via whatever means necessary due to its historic nature — the first-ever competition played in the converted venue — and the effort resulted in a cell phone stream on YouTube. To learn more about how it came together, IL’s Terry Foy talked to Libby Ellis, Maryland’s AAD Sport Administration, Yellin, intern Matt Sanders and coach John Tillman.
