Former NHL player and Chicago Blackhawks broadcaster Troy Murray, who passed away at 63 after a long battle with cancer, was a standout player and dedicated broadcaster. Drafted by the Blackhawks in 1982, Murray spent 15 seasons in the league, earning 584 points and winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy in 1985-86. He joined the Blackhawks broadcasting team in 1998, becoming a key radio color analyst and calling their Stanley Cup wins in 2010, 2013, and 2015. Despite being diagnosed with cancer in 2021, Murray continued working until stepping back from the booth this season. His impact on the Blackhawks organization will be felt for years to come.
