Leo Furlong, a seventh grader from Muncie, Indiana, has won the Ball State PBS Regional Spelling Bee for the third consecutive year, securing his spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. His impressive performance includes tying for 74th place last year and finishing 60th the year before. Leo, who enjoys soccer and dreams of playing in the Premier League, also received the Samuel Louis Sugarman Award and various gift cards. The regional bee, held on March 7th, attracted 35 spellers from 35 local schools.
