Show Notes

Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) has sold the Raymond Brandes School building to Dynamic Minds Academy, a charter school for students with autism, for one dollar. This deal provides Dynamic Minds with a second campus on the southeast side. However, this could be the last such low-cost sale for IPS, as lawmakers are proposing a bill to exempt IPS from this requirement. The building was previously ruled to be sold by a state appeals court after interest from two charters. Dynamic Minds plans to open the new site in the fall of 2027, pending approval. Meanwhile, IPS has put the Susan Roll Leach School up for sale on the open market and transferred land to the citys parks department for a regional park expansion.
