Dolly Partons Imagination Library Expands to Indiana, Kentucky: Free Books for Every Child
Dolly Partons Imagination Library, a program that mails free books to children from birth to five years old, has now reached every county in Indiana. This was made possible through a massive fundraising effort led by Indianas First Lady Maureen Braun, who rallied philanthropists, state leaders, and partners to restore funding after it was cut in last years budget. Kentucky also joined the initiative, securing full statewide access with a 50/50 funding match from their legislature. The library has grown to partner in 22 states and international locations, with local libraries, community centers, and groups covering book and shipping costs.
