36-year-old Alexis Ferrell, a former childcare worker in Indianapolis, faces felony battery charges after allegedly injuring a three-year-old girl at the Weston School. Ferrell is accused of pulling the child from a bookshelf during nap time, causing her to fall and suffer swollen and bleeding lips. The girls mother took her to a doctor, who suspected abuse. Ferrell claims the girl fell on her own, but video evidence suggests otherwise. The school fired Ferrell and shes now in jail. The Weston School was cited for failing to use positive discipline and inappropriate discipline during toileting. Ferrells initial court hearing is set for March twelfth.
