Throughout history, the cannabis plant has been used medicinally and vilified in the USA for . being a schedule 1 drug according to the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. Phil Lamy is a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Castleton University of Vermont. A nationally recognized educator on sociology and anthropology is teaching a Sociology of Cannabis course this semester, and this is another sign of normalization in the cannabis legal era.
