January 1st, 2020 Mississippi's GAP Act become effective. GAP Act, for “guard and protect" will provide stronger protections for children and vulnerable adults. The new rules create a clear and workable statutory framework, modern and enforceable reporting requirements, comprehensive court monitoring procedures, state driven accountability measures, protection of the ward’s fundamental rights, and transparency from all parties.
