Illinois Fighting Illinis Keaton Wagler, David Mirkovic, Kylan Boswell, and Jake Davis earned Big Ten conference honors this week. Wagler, a freshman from Shawnee, Kansas, was named first-team all-Big Ten and Big Ten Freshman of the Year, setting records with 554 points and 17.9 points per game. Mirkovic, a freshman forward from Niksic, Montenegro, landed on the all-freshman team and honorable mention all-Big Ten, averaging 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Boswell and Davis received honorable mentions and awards, respectively. The Illini, ranked ninth, have a 24-7 record and will face the number four seed in tournament quarterfinals Friday at 1:30 p.m. central time on BTN.
