Focus on the Family seems to have the recipe for hated turned political. They get a boatload of money from their media appearances, twist research to support their crusade against lgbtq+ people, and have their own political organization that teaches people how to vote. The new leader says it will get less harmful as their speech continues to spread across the world. But, with the founder, James Dobson’s horrific viewpoints steeped deeply into the organization, and their continued use of conversion therapy, this doesn’t seem very likely.
