How to Ask for What You Want
The answer on how to ask for what you want comes in a very simple package: ask! Yet I know for many of us it’s not that simple. Too often our requests are passive (even when they feel direct!) and ultimately fall to the sidelines. In this episode I share how you can confidently ask for what you want

Show Notes
I love talking about how to ask for what you want! This is one area if you get right, will transform everything. When you know how to ask for what you want effectively everyone involved receives clarity and the power to move forward.
In today’s episode I unpack the differences between passive and direct asks. I offer three examples of questions that FEEL direct, but are actually passive. In this episode I share with you moments in my past where I got this wrong and was caught up in the ring-around of passive asks, and I don’t want this for you!
Tangible Takeaways
- Ask directly: make it super clear! Passive asks only confuse the matter.
- Let them know what you want, and ask what steps are needed to get there.
- Before you make a direct ask, figure out the W.I.I.F.M - what's in it for me? What’s in it for them?
- A “no” can often be dealt with by asking, “what concerns do you have?” Maybe that “NO” can simply be repackaged as a “YES”
