The Mavs are very close to going on summer vacation after losing to the Celts last night. Luka Doncic fouled out late in the game and then ripped the officials in the postgame presser. Tucupita Marcano of the Padres received a lifetime ban after an investigation revealed that Marcano bet on games while a member of the Pirates. May 31st is the four-year anniversary of my tweet, All Lives Matter! Every Single One! On today's episode I discuss what it was like for me back then. I answer the question am I'm sorry for my tweet and the answer is no and will always be no. I read a story from Phil Mushnick of the NY Post dated June 4, 2020. The subject was my tweet. Phil, unlike so many others, doesn't turn his head on important topics. He isn't afraid to speak out on sensitive topics. I applaud him for that. As MLK Jr once said, "our lives begin to end the day we remain silent about things that matter". Unfortunately, too many people in our country remain silent about things that matter. Antisemitism is just one example. I also read several other notes from 2020 including an email written by my dad's best friend after my father passed away in 2007. The email to this day is one of my greatest treasures as it encapsulates what my family stands for. So, it has been reported that the Kings and Mike Brown haven't been able to agree on a new deal. Why would the Kings give their coach a new contract after two seasons? On today's episode I reflect on the life of Bill Walton who passed away from cancer yesterday at the age of 71. I was blessed to have known Bill, work with Bill and so many of his friends. There will never be another Bill Walton. I share how I met Bill and what it was like calling NBA games with him. Announcing a game with Bill was hard to describe. It was 2.5 hours of flying by the seat of your pants, because I never knew what crazy things Bill would say. I also let you listen to Bill talking to a crowd about legendary UCLA Coach John Wooden. On today's episode I reflect back on the career of Hall of Famer Jim Otto. Otto passed away this week at the age of 86. 00 is one of the most iconic images in pro football history. Otto played 15 seasons and never missed a game. He was a pro both on and off the field. I think you could make a strong argument that Otto is still the greatest Center ever! On today's podcast I discuss Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs. Butker recently delivered the commencement address at Benedictine College. He made comments on several topics that stirred much criticism and debate. I let you listen to an overview by ABC News and then we listen to an interesting conversation with NFL Network Host Rich Eisen and his wife Suzy Shuster who is a reporter at the same network. I then discuss the double standards in our society. Why isn't there much outrage over Rashee Rice who also is a member of the Chiefs. His offseason thus far has been one of utter embarrassment and reckless regard for human life. Two players on the same team, same league, but completely different in terms of coverage and outrage.
