On today's episode I reflect back on the career of Hall of Famer Jim Otto. Otto passed away this week at the age of 86. 00 is one of the most iconic images in pro football history. Otto played 15 seasons and never missed a game. He was a pro both on and off the field. I think you could make a strong argument that Otto is still the greatest Center ever! On today's podcast I discuss Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs. Butker recently delivered the commencement address at Benedictine College. He made comments on several topics that stirred much criticism and debate. I let you listen to an overview by ABC News and then we listen to an interesting conversation with NFL Network Host Rich Eisen and his wife Suzy Shuster who is a reporter at the same network. I then discuss the double standards in our society. Why isn't there much outrage over Rashee Rice who also is a member of the Chiefs. His offseason thus far has been one of utter embarrassment and reckless regard for human life. Two players on the same team, same league, but completely different in terms of coverage and outrage. Do you watch NFL pregame shows? On today's episode I discuss the recent firings of Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason by CBS. They are being replaced by J.J. Watt and Matt Ryan. Is there a reason for this? I play an excerpt from the Michael Kay Show on ESPN Radio, New York. Kay insinuates age played a role and that is a slippery slope for CBS. I also read part of a column written by Phil Mushnick of the NY Post. Mushnick thinks these shows are a waste of time and I tend to agree. How often do you tune in to the various pregame shows? Why Is Rashee Rice still on the Kansas City Chiefs. One would think after leaving the scene of a high-speed accident that injured several people would be enough for his immediate dismissal. Now Rice is suspected of an assault that occurred early Monday morning at a Dallas nightclub. The person who was assaulted went to the hospital after the encounter. On today's episode I review the Sacramento Kings season that resulted in 46 wins, but not good enough for the playoffs. I always like to look at 5-game increments. I think that is a better way to evaluate a team. I give a grade for every 5-games and then a letter grade for the players and coach. It was all Sacramento last night as the Kings rolled over the Warriors. I think it's safe to say we just watched the end of a great run by a generational team in Golden State.
