- Solar flare activity IS UP! With 3 M class flares in the past 24 hours! With one sunspot player taking up much of the star power with those productions.
- Solar flare prediction for today has also increased for X and M class flares.
- Based on the intensity of the ejecta from these flares we could see stronger flare activity by mid week.
- Solar wind is expected to decrease yet now it is hanging in there and still steadily steaming.
- Geomagnetic activity is unsettled to active.
- In 1006 AD, a star exploded so brightly that it was visible during the day and cast shadows at night for weeks. People in China, Japan, the Middle East, Europe, and possibly North America all wrote about the dazzling “new star” that shone for almost three years. It was a Type Ia supernova 7,200 light-years away, and it remains the brightest stellar explosion ever seen in recorded history. A fascinating example of bridging ancient recordings and modern day science examining the lingering effects of post-supernova explosion.
