James McGrath is a Senator in the Upper House of the Australian Parliament, representing Queensland. He started out in political life in Westminster, working for the Conservatives and then becoming Deputy Director of Boris Johnson’s first London mayoral campaign. He gives some very honest analysis of Boris Johnson’s qualities and failings, goes into detail about the art of political campaigning, and has some interesting thoughts on Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard and Malcolm Turnbull and the viscerality of Australian politics.
