EP 76 - The steady slide towards a military union
This week we discuss the EU’s ever-increasing militarism. We start with the EU’s enthusiasm to trigger Article 44 of the Lisbon treaty, which would allow a small group of member states to engage in military “missions” abroad sponsored by the EU taxpayer. We also discuss the big business that is border surveillance technology, China- the bogeyman of the moment, and Iran’s appeal for help in dealing with the huge numbers of Afghan refugees arriving every day. We also hop back on the interrail tour of the EU with a visit to Greece.
