E' il musicista forse più rappresentativo del Novecento, l'artista che ha saputo offrire una sintesi unica ed irripetibile fra le musiche di estrazione popolare e quelle di tradizione più nobile, fondendole in una miscela di immenso fascino. Adorando Maurice Ravel con tutta l'anima si narra che un giorno andò dal Maestro per chiedere lezioni ma si sentì rispondere: "Perchè vuol diventare un mediocre Ravel, quando è un bravo Gershwin?".
He is perhaps the most representative musician of the twentieth century, the artist who has been able to offer a unique and unrepeatable synthesis between the music of popular extraction and that of the noblest tradition, merging them into a mixture of immense charm. Adoring Maurice Ravel with all his soul, it is said that one day he went to the Master to ask for lessons but was told: "Why does Ravel want to become a mediocre one, when Gershwin is a good one?".
