Do other evolutionary psychologists have an opinion on MacDonald? Few returned her phone calls, but those who did said they'd never read his Jewish trilogy. Two leading scholars said they had read papers of his on other subjects and found them "muddled"; one academic said she had been forced to reject a paper by MacDonald on child development for an anthology she was editing. When Culturebox described the contents of MacDonald's books to them, they expressed extreme shock and said he contradicted the basic principles of contemporary evolutionary psychology. A book Mason wrote has become a bible of sorts for terroristic neo-Nazi groups like Atomwaffen Division, and it has helped spawn a new wave of so-called accelerationists—people who believe societal collapse is the quickest way to create an all-white ethnostate. Many of those adherents flocked to Telegram, the encrypted messaging app, in recent months after getting booted from other social media platforms. And they've created their own enclave there, which they refer to as "Terrorgram." It was there, in the Terrorgram community, that the threats against Harper took shape. On Sept. 11, an anonymous post appeared on one of the Terrorgram channels, telling people to send Harper "fan mail" at his address in Michigan. The following day, the same channel published a video from someone who drove by the address and filmed the house. "Howdy, antifascist activist Daniel Harper," the text of the post read. "Nice place you've got there." The posts set off a wave of chatter on Telegram. In the midst of it was a user who went by the handle "Anti-Kosmik 2182," who chimed in with his thoughts about what to do about Harper. "Ditch the car somewhere a few blocks away, take back alleys, trails in the woods, etc., and then come up on the house wearing a mask," he wrote. "I'm not saying do anything illegal, but I am saying it would be a real shame if all he has went up in literal flames." In court records, the FBI later said that "Anti-Kosmik 2182" was Smith, an infantry soldier stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. The bureau also revealed that it had an undercover agent on Telegram who was interacting with Smith around the same time." "After this stupid kike whore loses this fraudulent lawsuit, we're going to have a lot of fucking fun with her," Cantwell wrote. The threat was mentioned during a telephonic hearing Tuesday in federal court in Charlottesville, where lawyers discussed the snail's pace of the discovery process in the lawsuit that alleges organizers and key participants in the Aug. 12, 2017, white supremacist rally planned and promoted violence against protected groups. Cantwell has posted derogatory statements about Kaplan before, the plaintiffs' lawyers wrote in a motion filed Tuesday, but his recent statement is a "thinly-veiled threat" that impairs the lawyers' ability to carry out their work. The lawyers asked the court to enjoin Cantwell to refrain from any future threats. Cantwell already has been found guilty of assaulting and pepper-spraying activists on Aug. 11, 2017, and of violating conditions of his bond. He remains a defendant in another civil suit filed by people injured during the Unite the Right rally. In this episode we touch on the promised topic of the mainstreamers vs the vanguardists in the far-right movement, but only in the course of covering topical events. These include the firing of the 'Nazi EMT' Alex McNabb, and the recently released tapes of disgusting comments by Fox News's pet white nationalist con-man Tucker Carlson. But, most particularly, of course, we talk about the recent ghastly massacre at Christchurch, New Zealand. Daniel provides really vital insights in this episode into the way such murderous terrorist attacks by fascists - of which the Christchurch attack is just the latest of many - stem from a conscious organisational strategy within the far right called 'leaderless resistance'. Daniel explains this and where it comes from, its meaning within the movement, etc, going into the infamous racist novel The Turner Diaries and 'The Order', and so on. More than two years ago, concerned about the newly resurgent fascist fringe in America and elsewhere, Daniel Harper, a lefty podcaster and online writer, started investigating the so-called 'alt-right'. He's gone where few other researchers have gone, and actually subjected himself to hours and hours of the many podcasts and Youtube shows produced by the multifarious people and groups who make up this pernicious and dangerous subculture. He's listened, at length, to what they say to each other in their own spaces. And, having done the listening so you don't have to, he's back with his reports. This new podcast series features Daniel in conversation with his friend and fellow podcaster Jack Graham. Here's the first episode, on perhaps the best-known representative of the 'alt-right', Richard Spencer, his career, style, and ideology. The episode also touches on the origins of the term 'alt-right', the infamous 'heilgate' occurance after Trump's election, etc. We're discussing fascism and racism, so this podcast comes with big warnings.
