Ep 328EP328: You Still Working on That?

Naz has a bone to pick with the restaurant industry regarding the all-important dip to chip ratio. But everyone agrees where restaurants really shine is the vaguely-named, but universally-loved orange sauce department. Ashley recaps her last minute attendance at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, giving us a very sweet glimpse into a candid moment that really proves why she’s so beloved to her fans. Naz fills us in on covering the premieres of The Little Mermaid, Fast X, and Across the Spider-Verse, and tells us all about getting to talk with someone who has played a HUGE role in shaping the childhoods of pretty much every millennial on the planet, the great Alan Menken (if you’ve ever had a Disney movie song stuck in your head, there’s a good chance you’ve got Mr. Menken to blame). Lauren offers a little update and clarification about our recent discussion about the names for generic drugs and helps us figure out the difference between the words “house” and “home.”Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comDon’t forget you can watch the ad-free video version of I Don’t Get It by heading over to Patreon.com/idontgetitpodcastGet 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/getit! #honeylovepodFind your forever pieces at jennikayne.com. Ep 326EP326: Has Anyone Ever Even Seen an Infant Life Vest?

Ashley, Lauren, and Naz are back with another I Don't Get It, Plane Edition. Naz doesn't get why flight attendants have to pay for Wi-Fi, and Ashley doesn't get why any of us have to pay for Wi-Fi when it never even works! Naz gets a kick out of the way the airport turns into an absolute free-for-all when you're trying to get through customs and contrasts that craziness with the uncanny energy in Duty Free. We also talk about the shows we're really into right now, like Jury Duty, Severence, and Fatal Attraction. That last one brought up a great I Don't Get It from Ashley that has to do with the evolution of ccourtroom fashion. And of course we weigh in on the newest announcement from The Bachelor, the upcoming The Golden Bachelor. Last but not least, we talk about the recent Tom Brady / Kim Kardashian rumors, and Ashley calls in Jared for reinforcement when Naz says she thinks Tom looks his age. Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comIt’s time to get started with your new face, eye, and body routine at a discounted rate today! Ep 325EP325: I Just Need Validation!

Naz is off traveling the world for work, so Lauren an Ashley called in their go to fill-in cohost, fan favorite, Feminist Liz. We're gonna be honest. This one is high energy, and we don't necessarily get to a ton of I Don't Get Its, but that's just because we had so much other stuff to cover in our hour with Liz, from some of the most ridiculous reality shows of decades past (remember The Pick Up Artist and Daisy of Love??) to the best celebrity memoir audiobooks (Liz recommends Pamela Anderson's book), to all of the Taylor Swift / Matty Healy news. Lauren and Lizzie try to get Ashley up-to-date on current TikTok trends and slang (almond moms don't just drink almond milk), and Liz breaks down all the romance tropes for Ashley and Lauren. She also recounts a date she went on that really tested her feminist leanings. We recorded this one late on a weekend night, so it's got major sleepover vibes. Ep 324EP324: Discovering Dinosaurs, Exploring the Ocean, Making Prank Calls

It’s a ramble! Lauren brought her pup to the show, so this is a good one to check in on our Patreon (patreon.com/idontgetitpodcast). Your hosts cover everything from when the first dinosaur skeleton was discovered, to which new words were added to the dictionary last year (words like “goblin mode” and “selfie”), and pretty much everything in between, including middle school field day, which intimate acts some of us are just pretending to like, and why making prank phone calls is still so fun. Apparently Paris Hilton even has a special phone number she uses to make them!). Dr. Brighten shares so much valuable information in this episode. We cover everything from low libido, to birth control, to perimenopause, to why Freud sucks, and so much in between. Ep 322EP322: Chris Pratt Is a Damn Sexy Bear

Ashley, Lauren, and Naz are back together for their first ramble in a long time, so they've got a ton of stuff on their minds. Like, what's up with kids today and Mickey Mouse? And is it tacky to give guests tours of your house? Ashley can't believe how crazy it is that the car has only been around for 150 years, and really, that's barely a blip in our timeline. And honestly, what's the deal with our ears? Are we just aliens? . . . Okay, maybe we should have called this one, "We Swear We're Not High."Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comUpgrade your CBD. Ep 321EP321: Setting Boundaries with Melissa Urban

This week we are so excited to welcome the absolutely brilliant Melissa Urban to I Don’t Get It. Melissa is the founder and CEO of Whole30 and a seven-time New York Times bestselling author. She joined Ashley, Lauren, and Naz to talk about her most recent book, the paradigm-shifting The Book of Boundaries: Set the Limits That Will Set You Free. They talk with Melissa about what makes boundary-setting feel so scary, and why it’s so important to get comfortable setting them. They also talk about how to reframe your thinking if you’re someone who feels anxious around the idea of other people setting boundaries that might affect you. Then, Melissa suggests some effective strategies for setting boundaries around specific areas of your life, including work, social media, friends, and even with your children. Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comYou can watch the ad-free vido version of this episode right now over on our Patreon! Ep 320EP320: A Ludicrously Capacious Bag

Naz is back from her birthday week off, and she’s catching Lauren up on all the incredible experiences she had between her visit to past I Don’t Get It guest, spiritual activator Oliver Nino and a stay at her favorite bed and breakfast in Hawaii. The trip brought up a few travel I Don’t Get Its that have us thinking about how much attitude and mood matter and affect the way we move through the world. Naz wonders what the rules are when someone tells you a story you already know, and Lauren wants to know if it’s rude to show up to someone’s house with a fresh coffee if you didn’t bring them one, too. Naz talks about her new favorite car and convinces Lauren to watch Succession using only one line from the show. Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code GETIT30 at lumedeodorant.com/GETIT30! #lumepodGet 20% OFF @honeylove with promo code GETIT20 at https://www.honeylove.com! #honeylovepod Find your forever pieces at jennikayne.com. Ep 319EP319: Sister, Sister!

Naz is off celebrating her birthday by staring gorillas in the eye or whatever it is she gets up, so the Iaconetti sisters are on their own this week. Ashley and Lauren are catching you up on everything that's been going on in the world of entertainment the last few days. Lauren doesn't get why we all want to be the first to discover the next big thing way before everyone else, but she and Lauren have a pretty good track record of it (Pete Davidson, The 1975, Aaron Tveit, the list goes on), so Ashley thinks maybe she missed her calling as a talent scout. Lauren doesn't get the way beauty influencers talk about skincare products. We KNOW it melts into the skin. Where else are you putting it? Ashley has MANY thoughts about the new Jonas Brothers single and she also makes a brave confession about the Taylor Swift Eras tour. Lauren's breaking down all the recent eyebrow-raising not-drama of Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber and that video of Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski kissing in Tokyo. And Lauren and Ashley wonder what's worse: being boring or being annoying. What do you think? Ep 318EP318: We Have a Patreon Now!

The I Don't Get It ladies are rambling and ranting with the best of them this week! Lauren and Ashley talk about their trip to New York, and they don't get why everything feels so claustrophobic there. Ashley tells us what seeing the Jonas Brothers feels like when you're a married woman with a baby at home. We discuss the recent trend of celebrities like Blac Chyna reversing the work they've had done. Naz suggests everyone should have a "Filler Friend" to tell them if they've gone too far. She also talks about a photoshoot she did recently, and Lauren pages through some 70s Playboys she picked up on Ebay. (Have we mentioned you can watch the video version of our podcast on Patreon now? Ep 317EP317: Dating After Divorce with Adrienne Gallagher

Adrienne Gallagher is an entrepenuer who owns her own business, DC Graze, but she's on I Don't Get It this week to talk about something we've heard you guys asking about a lot: divorce. Adrienne has a unique story, but it's also one we think a lot of people will relate to. She's open, honest, and totally candid about her experience of getting married, having kids, and realizing she wasn't married to The One. Adrienne has a lot of insight about dealing with that life change and also about getting back into dating as a 33 year old mom. We love that she came by to share her journey with us. Ep 316EP316: Oh, Look! There's Cows!

We're back with a ramble, and we're asking lots of questions this week. This episode is all about growing up and looking back. Is our generation just more nostalgic than our parents? Ashley's been thinking about bringing back the best of Y2K with inflatable furniture, novelty lamps, and belly button rings. Lauren thinks maybe being a kid was just more fun for us. Ashley updates us on how things have changed at Chuck E. Cheese, and it's definitely for the worse. Naz tells us about meeting Jon Favreau and asking him a very important question: Do you say "Cows!" when you see cows? We want to know what you guys order when you go out to eat. Will you get something you can make at home, or does it have to be something more complex to feel like it's worth ordering? We wrap up with some more reminiscing. What's the most nostalgic snack? Is it an Auntie Anne's soft pretzel from the mall? An Otis Spunkmeyer cookie from the cafeteria at your school?Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comGET $5 OFF a Lume Starter Pack with code GETIT at LumeDeodorant.comCancel unwanted subscriptions – and manage your expenses the easy way – by going to RocketMoney.com/getit.This episode is brought to you by Better Help. Ep 315EP315: To Mom or Not to Mom

Ashley had a tough time with some work stuff this week that got her thinking about those times in grade school when you got called on in class and weren’t ready to answer. Naz swears it’s all about that lack of sleep, which she says is even more important to her than water. Ashley updates us on the sleep situation with Dawson. She’s deep in the sleep training debate, and she breaks down the various perspectives on it. On the one hand, some people say letting your baby cry at night is going to leave them feeling abandoned. Others think that quality sleep for you and your baby are necessary to be a functioning family together. It’s a tough conversation with a lot of nuance, and it leads to some bigger questions about motherhood in general. Lauren and Naz wonder if they’d be able to give up the more comfortable parts of their lives. Lauren thinks maybe she’s just too set in her ways. Naz says she’s okay with the idea of being a mom in her 40s, so she’s not in a huge hurry. This leads to talk about childhood, in general, and Ashley and Naz share two of the most embarrassing moments from elementary school. And of course, you can’t talk about elementary school without talking about Lisa Frank. Naz thinks she should have a museum. And now we’re on a mission to get her on the podcast. To close things out, Lauren wants everyone to stop pretending like every dead person was a perfect angel when they were alive. Let’s just be real. Not everyone's smile lights up a room. And that's okay.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comGET $5 OFF a Lume Starter Pack with code GETIT at LumeDeodorant.comGo to dimebeautyco.com and use our code “getit20” for 20% off your entire order! Ep 314EP314: Miss Steal Your Man

The week's ramble takes us down memory lane. Lauren's reporting live from her mom's kitchen, which means there are about a million 90s-style chickens all over the place. Ashley and Lauren tell some stories about crushing on the same guys, and Ashley explains why that makes her relate to unlikely characters in rom-coms. Naz talks about interviewing Keanu Reeves and Ashley tells us all about meeting Tom Brady. Those two men are such good examples of good people deserving all the success they have. Naz checks in about a huge breakthrough she had in therapy recently, which has been so helpful, but it also says a lot about how different parenting and children's mental health is these days. Lauren's on a big read the room kick lately. She thinks it's a skill you can learn, but Naz thinks it's someting you have to be born with. Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comGet 20% off your first order of $40 or more at NextEvo.com/podcast and use promo code GETIT.Kitsch is offering you 30% off your entire order at mykitsch.com/getit.Treat yourself to the best shapewear on the market and save 20% off at honeylove.com with the code GETIT.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We've got an incredible guest this week! Jessica Lanyadoo is a humanistic astrologer, psychic medium, tarot reader, and animal communicator. She's the host of  Ghost of a Podcast and the author of Astrology For Real Relationships. She joined us to talk about dead people jumping into her body, drawing boundaries for pushy spirits, and, most importantly, she helped us communicate with Lauren and Ashley's pups, Gurgi and Lois. Ep 312EP312: You Can Be Meaner in Person

It's an in-person I Don't Get It! Lauren and Ashley are in town visiting Naz, so they recorded together, and the energy in this one is . . . elevated. We check in with Ashley's Joe Burrow crush, and Lauren makes it clear that her crush on Evan Peters is about more than just his shark eyes. Naz is dating and everyone's remiscing about how stressful it can be when you're getting to know someone new. And the play a game called Let's Get Deeper that features a ton of great questions to ask if you want to get to know someone bettter when you're on a first date, a tenth date, or sitting around in the kitchen with your best friends. Ep 311EP311: Unremarkable Anus

I Don't Get It is sharing controversial opinions–theirs and yours. Ashley reveals her true feelings about The Beatles, and Lauren lays down some truth that most people are afraid to admit about Nickelback. Ashley recounts some of her Secret Seduction Techniques. Lots of our listeners had opinions on our conversation last week about flirting and crushing on other people when you're in a relationship, so we're also sharing those this week. Naz doesn't get why she's always looking in the wrong place for elevator buttons, which leads to some important questions about cruise ships and the lido deck. We consider the possibility of *N Sync and Backstreet Boys touring together, and Lauren gives us an update on her health situation.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comFor a limited time, get 20% off with the code GETIT when you go to whatdoyoumeme.com/letsgetdeepRight now, Kitsch is offering you 30% off your entire order at mykitsch.ccom/getit.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 310EP310: Show Your Bra Straps

It’s an absolutely classic ramble this week! We’re reminiscing about the most iconic Disney Channel Originals (My Date with the President’s Daughter, anyone?) and catching each other up on the shows we’re watching (Black Bird! The Last of Us!). Naz wonders how long it’s okay to keep your Christmas tree up and admits that she excuses bad driving if the person behind the wheel is hot. Ashley’s still crushing on Joe Burrow and everyone has different opinions on whether or not crushing on and daydreaming about hot celebrities, like Pedro Pascal and Taron Egerton, is okay. Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comVisit BetterHelp.com/GETIT today to get 10% off your first month.Get 20% off your first order of $40 or more at NextEvo.com/podcast and use promo code: GETIT.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We also talk Golden Globes and Naz tells us about her Austin Butler encounter. Lauren and Ashley introduce Naz to everyone’s favorite new crush, Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback, Joe Burrow. Ep 308EP308: Babies in First Class?

It's 2023 and we're back with lots of updates. Lauren checks in with her ongoing health saga. And Ashley and Lauren catch us up on a trip to Spencers and their revisit to the world of belly button piercings. Naz encourages everyone to stop saving their candles and special perfume for just the right time. Life is short. Light the damn candle. Naz talks about intention-setting and tries to narrow down the word she's going to use for 2023. This year Naz and Ashley are setting goals that are more lowkey while Lauren is aiming for something a little more take charge. Naz tells a great story about overcoming that inner voice that tells you you're just not doing enough. Ashley reflects on the gift-giving season and the way that holidays are just so much more fun when you make it about the kids and stop worrying about trading gift cards back and forth with the adults in your life. Ashley has noticed that a lot of parents aren't telling their kids about Santa because they don't want to lie to their kids, and Lauren's got some choice words about that. Lauren and Ashley pitch their new show Sex on Celexa and Naz discusses Jonah Hill's new documentary Stutz and the Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary. Ashley wants to know: babies in first class? Ep 307EP307: Where TF is Naz Going for Christmas!?

Ashley, Lauren, and Naz are back with a classic Ramble, and they're hitting all the I Don't Get It greats: movies, nostalgia, the Kardashian family, mental health, and all the best snack foods. Ashley tells us why her love for Titanic is keeping her from watching Avatar. What are your favorite holiday movies? Home Alone? The Santa Clause? Of course it wouldn't be a Ramble without some Kardashian discussion. How are you guys liking this season of The Kardashians?  The second half of this episode gets a little more serious as Lauren talks about a current health concern she's dealing with that's making it hard to think about anything else. Naz breaks out some more of that Peter Crone wisdom to help deal with the anxiety of the unknown. And hey, they call it a "good cry" for a reason, don't they? Of course it wouldn't be an I Don't Get It without some snack talk. Are you guys as in love with Goldfish crackers as Lauren and Naz? Do you think there's a better snack out there? You can try to convince them, but you're gonna have a hard time. Last but not least, wait til you all hear where Naz is going for the holidays! She's truly out Naz-ed herself with this one. Happy holidays to all of our listeners! We'll see you in the new year! ***There are very minor White Lotus spoilers in this one. Ep 306EP306: Matresence with Motherhood Coach, Kendra Williams

Kendra Williams is a motherhood coach who specializes in conscious parenting and matrescence, the process of becoming a mother (think, "adolescence"). It's a term developed by Dr. Dana Raphael, the woman who also coined the term "doula." Kendra's here to talk with us about the transition into motherhood and why this core identity shift is so overlooked and misunderstood. Kendra shares some fascinating facts about motherhood (Mommy Brain is real), some frustrating facts about society's views of mothers (the maternal wall is the counterpart to the glass ceiling), and some ways to think about motherhood that can help moms feel less alone and better able to get back in touch with themselves. Ep 305EP305: Stinky Love Letters

This episode of I Don't Get It is not for the faint of heart. First, Ashley, Lauren, and Naz are asking the tough questions. Do you tell a friend when they have bad breath? What about if they're just stinky, in general? Everyone feels a little differently about it, so Lauren and Ashley call in for backup, and their dad weighs in with his opinion. Jared also drops in to talk about having this exact experience at work. Even after all of that, no one can quite agree: is it rude or are you just doing the right thing by telling someone when they're walking around little stink lines radiating off of them like a Charlie Brown character? In the second half of this episode, Lauren's I Don't Get It about cursive turns into a much more vulnerable discussion about love letters. Ashley even shares a super personal one she wrote years ago. Ep 304EP304: Peanut Butter Cheeseburgers with Elvis

It's a classic Ramble, so you know what that means, from what makes Kevin Richardson an elder woman's Backstreet Boy, to whether or not boobs are back in fashion, the I Don't Get It ladies are covering everything that's been on their minds this week. Naz and Ashley give their review of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic, which leads to what may be the biggest I Don't Get It in I Don't Get It history–what's the deal with the word "colonel"? Lauren and Ashley reveal something they've recently discovered about their sleeping habits, and Naz tells us more about her incredible trip to Hawaii. Ashley wants everyone to know how thankful she is for the response to last week's episode. All of the thoughtful messages from other moms really mean a lot. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Ep 303EP303: Mommy Meltdown

This week's I Don't Get It is a bit of a therapy session. Our girl Ashley came to the recording feeling overwhelmed about a few things, and instead of hiding that, she decided to share how she was feeling with Lauren, Naz, and all of you. It's a really raw, vulnerable episode with a lot of honest talk from a new mom. Lauren and Naz weigh in on some ways to slow down, breathe, and just focus on the here and now. Jared joins the ladies to share a bit of his perspective, too. Ashley is sharing real, relatable feelings that society tells new moms they should be ashamed of, and we're just not about that here at I Don't Get It. We're not gonna lie though, this one started out pretty intense, but it ended up being a really beautiful, cathartic conversation. Ep 302EP302: Taylor Swift Midnights Breakdown with Oscar Gracey

Taylor Swift has blessed us with a new album, so you know what that means! Taylor's biggest stan, and one of I Don't Get It listeners' favorite guests, Oscar Gracey is back. We're diving deep into Midnights, following all the hints, clues, and Easter eggs that may or may not reveal who or what every song is about: from Joe Alwyn to Joe Jonas, and everyone in between. We look at what Taylor might be saying about her changing relationship with the music industry, why her relationship with Harry Styles meant everything to Oscar, and what Ashley thinks all the sexy babies have to do with Bachelor in Paradise.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comFollow Oscar on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oscargraceySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 301EP301: Elevators, Cruise Pockets, and The Snoopy Story

This episode starts with a little Halloween recap. Everyone was worried about people hiding drugs in our Skittles this year, but it turns out Skittles on their own are bad enough. Naz doesn't get why strangers want to touch you when you're in a public place, and Lauren wants you to stop saying your eyes change color because they just don't. The second half of this episode really has its ups and downs, as the I Don't Get It ladies get deep into all things elevators. Elevator etiquette, what makes elevators scary, what makes them sexy, and why cruise ship elevators are so nasty (hint: the dreaded cruise pocket).Of course, it wouldn't be I Don't Get It if there wasn't a ton of food talk. In our Google Moment of the Week (tm tm tm), Ashley doesn't get how meat stays safe in a can for so long. How does it last? If you had to get rid of one Thanksgiving dinner staple, what would it be? And why is a garden salad with Italian dressing so nostalgic?Lauren ends the episode with the sweetest childhood story about having the best big sister in the world. Ep 300EP300: Our 300th Episode (Halloween, Listener Ghost Stories, and McKamey Manor)

Not only is this our 300th episode, but it's also Halloween, so we're celebrating both by inviting you on to share your scariest stories! Up first, we're joined by someone who has made herself an expert on what is probably the most infamous extreme haunted attraction in the world. It goes by the name McKamey Manor, but many refer to it as a torture house. Whatever you call it, it's not for the faint of heart. Then, we have two very spooky stories from two of our listeners. Tori runs a pre-school and a daycare out of what used to be a funeral home, and if we've learned anything from horror movies, it's that kids and ghosts are a perfect recipe for spookiness! Then, Courtney tells us about the angry dead wife with an eye for interior design who does not like the landscaping choices Courtney made when she moved into her home. This is a really fun and spooky episode, and we love that we got to share it with you.Happy Halloween! Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comYou can read the absolutely crazy 40-page McKamey Manor waiver at the link below, but be warned, even if it's not totally true, it's still an intense and gruesome read: https://lugula.files.wordpress.com/2020/10/mckamey-waiver.pdfThis show is sponsored by BetterHelp. Ep 299EP299: Betsey Johnson Perfume

This week we’re bringing you a jam-packed I Don’t Get It! The girls talk about their signature high school scents: were you a Betsey Johnson or a Juicy Couture girl? Naz brings up the distinctive smells of certain fast food restaurants, and Lauren tells a truly horrific story about one of the more untrustworthy sandwich chains. Lauren, Ashley, and Naz randomly ended up in New York City at the same time, and they just don’t get why people from out of town pretend to know where they’re going. Lauren confesses a childhood lie that haunts her to this day. Naz shared a flight with two people who clearly don’t believe in the power of love. There’s also a lot of intense dinner talk. Like, a lot. Including some speculation about the reduced caloric intake of leftovers and a discussion of Ashley’s willingness to eat expired food. And of course, we couldn’t end the episode without a Hocus Pocus 2 review. What are you having for dinner? Ep 298EP298: Hunting for Helen Hunt

Feminist Lizzie is filling in for Naz this week. The girls discuss the differences between the male and female gaze in movies and between the sexes. They share some songs they love by fictional bands from their favorite movies. (If your answer is anything other than "That Thing You Do" or "Eye to Eye" from A Goofy Movie, what are we even doing here?) They talk about the quintessential fall vibes that are Meg Ryan, Taylor swift and the Rom Com master, Helen Hunt. Lizzie breaks down all the Internet speculation about Taylor's upcoming album Midnights and tries to catch Ashley up on all the celebrity gossip she's missing out on these days. They also go around and reminisce on sex scenes that scarred them or aroused them (and sometimes both) in their youth.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comBetterhelp is a sponsor of I Don't Get It. Ep 297EP297: Gelateria!

It's a Ramble! Lauren and Naz describe the deliciousness that is the dirty martini, which naturally leads to the obvious question, "Why doesn't olive oil taste like olives?" The girls also ask, "How many almonds does it take to make a gallon of almond milk?" And if that's not enough excitement for you, Naz went to a wedding at the Bug Juice camp! There's a lot of dessert talk in this episode: Gelato, the classic ice cream sandwich vs. The Chipwich, Crumble and Insomnia Cookies. Relatedly, Lauren's got an I Don't Get It that will have you paying more attention to toothbrush commercials than you ever have before. Ashley tells us how some recent travel made her see codependency in a new light, and everyone gets a little confused about time zones. Ep 296EP296: I Don't Know Cats

We are so excited that our incredible, beautiful, amazing friend Jade Roper Tolbert (@jadelizroper on Instagram / @jaderopertolber on TikTok) is with us for this week's Ramble! She came prepared with some perfect I Don't Get It questions. Like, do you make it a point to look good when you've got to get on a plane? And what is it with these overly-expressive TikTokers? Naz just saw the iconic Demi Moore movie Striptease, and she thinks we should all try to embrace our inner stripper and dance like no one's watching. Lauren and Ashley recount the beautiful wedding they attended in Italy, Lauren begs Naz to help Ashley convince Jared that it is NOT okay to wear jeans with a tuxedo jacket, and Naz cracks the code on why it's hard to get drunk at weddings (hint: free bread). Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comBetterhelp is a sponsor of I Don't Get It. Ep 295EP295: Lady Secrets with Lady Gang

Two amazing podcasts collide this week! Both are well versed in sharing the truth about topics other people are too shy to discuss. IDGI meets LadyGang hosts, Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek, for an episode jam packed with personal stories, laughter and calamity. The ladies put each other on the spot describing their own personality traits, and what role they play on podcasts each week. Keltie hits the ground running by sharing a cutthroat example of the lengths she goes to when protecting a friend. The rest of the podcast barrels forward at one million miles per hour, breaks the podcast record for general hilarity, contains 386 random segues that are masterfully corralled back on topic, more poop stories than you'd think were ever possible in one episode, and an exclusive oscar story demonstrating one lady's possible over-commitment to fame.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comLadyGang's IG: https://www.instagram.com/theladygangKeltie's IG: https://www.instagram.com/keltieJac's IG: https://www.instagram.com/jacvanekJoin the conversation at https://nutrafol.com/shedthesilenceGet $20 off your first purchase at https://rothys.com/getitGet 15% off plus free shipping on your first order at https://gladskin.com/getitSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 294EP294: How Old Is Leo?

It’s a ramble! Somehow this episode turned into a celebrity gossip special. Naz talks about her experience at the Emmys. The ladies discuss all of the recent celebrity relationship news, including Leo Dicaprio’s sudden change of heart when it comes to dating 25 year olds and whether it’s trouble in paradise or just some fresh botox that has Tom Brady looking less like himself these days. Timothée Chalamet blew everyone away with his stunningly androgynous look at the Venice Film Festival, and Lauren swears it’s Sebastian Stan’s crows feet that make him so hot. We’ve got an update on Joe Jonas, Ultimate Millennial Spokesperson, who has added Lasik and canned mimosas to his portfolio. This episode also features a lot of really important questions: Do you think it’s possible to be friends with someone you have a crush on? Who was hotter in their prime: Leo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt? Ep 293EP293: Everything Always Works Out: Nannies, Peter Crone, and Birth Control Beach

It's a ramble full of updates! Naz follows up last week's Unique Occupational Series by asking Lauren and Ashley what job they would have had if they lived in a different era. Naz thinks she'd be a cowgirl. Lauren isn't totally sure. Milkmaid. Witch. No matter what, it would probably involve a corset. Ashley might have been a midwife, or maybe even a doctor like one of her favorite historical figures, Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to earn a medical degree in the United States. Ashley provides a thrilling update to the ongoing saga that is Nannygate. Naz tells us about her incredibly profound session with Peter Crone "The Mind Architect" who gave her a "loving kick in the ass." Lauren closes the show out with an update about her most recent family trip to Nantucket and stirs up memories of "Birth Control Beach" and Naz eating spaghetti in the sand.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comGet 20% off your first order at https://dadgrass.com/getitGo to https://www.greenchef.com/getit135 and use code: getit135 to get $135 off across five boxes—and your first box ships free!Go to https://nutrafol.com and use code: GETIT to save $15 OFF your first month’s subscription!Get 15% off your first order at https://thrivecausemetics.com/getitSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 292EP292: Sperm Donors, Polygraph Examiners, & Celebrity Impressionists

This newest installment of the I Don't Get It Occupation Series covers a lot of fascinating ground. We start with Lauren who works at a fertility clinic evaluating egg and sperm donors. She shares what people are looking for in a donor, how much money you can make if you donate your eggs (It's a lot!), and what it's like to be a professional judger in what Ashley calls "The Bachelor auditions of sperm and egg donations." We also talk with Kelly, a polygraph examiner who administers polygraphs to prisoners. It's an intense job, but Kelly is hilarious and breaks down why it doesn't matter how sweaty you are if you ever find yourself hooked up to a polygraph machine. Lasty, we talk with the incredibly talented and ridiculously funny, Mary Elizabeth Kelly (https://linktr.ee/mare_kell), the self-proclaimed Mouth Acting Girl whose celebrity impressions are some of the best and funniest we've ever seen. She shares the ways that gaining notoriety on TikTok has helped her acting career. And of course she does some of our favorite impressions, everyone from Meryl Streep to Mandy Moore. Ep 291EP291: Bachelorette Parties, Men's Botox & Terms of Endearment

We know you love a good old ramble, and honestly, we do too. There's nothing better than sitting down with your friends and having a good chat, about things in the world we just don't get. Essentially that's life's equation for comedy. Have you been to a bachelorette party recently? Are there certain activities you like doing, or not doing? We share our opinions. We saw a Joe Jonas Botox commercial. This opens up the door to so many questions about celebrity endorsements, how they work, and why they do them. After some intense hilarity dissecting that topic, we jump onto a social subject. When dads look after the kids, why do people sometimes say he's babysitting? Verbiage is important here people. Do you also feel the same way we do, that walking back from a trip to the beach for some reason is harder than you'd imagine. Heat, sunscreen, sand, heavy items. It's all too much. Ep 290EP290: Summer Romance, Vintage Vibes, & Pheromone Dating

Friday night down at Blockbuster, getting snacks and microwave popcorn, grabbing the last copy of the latest release. Those were the days. If it wasn't a movie, it was one of hundreds of old school sitcoms. Maybe you collected beanie babies back then? Are they really worth a fortune now? Which rare releases are worth the most money, and can you sell them on Ebay? Talking of Ebay, who uses that platform, and what do they use it for now? Is it still popular? Getting the high from a good bargain though is where it's at. There's nothing better than a thrift shop rummage. But are thrift sellers capitalizing on the surge in popularity of vintage items, and filling storbargainses up with overpriced items? Naz shares an emotional story about a recent summer romance. Ep 288EP288: Hair Removal, Ghosting Nanny & Brad Pitt

This week, starting off the show in full force with some substantially Icky Icks, then we segue on to the topic of unwanted hair, which opens doors to hours of conversation. Motorized devices, wax, cream that burns your hair off, and leaves your skin hairless but burning, and of course the hypnotizing and some may say addictive process of plucking. And... Why is the best light to see your hair at the dentist? Swiftly we move on to Lauren's distaste for fully shaven men. She prefers them a little more natural. The ladies then discuss the recent breakup of Kim and Pete. Who do you think ended the relationship? Do you think Kim would get back together with Kanye? Ashley then shares her current stress and guilt deciding how to best juggle work and personal commitments the best way possible. Pursuing options, Ashley and Jared started looking for a Nanny, but may have been ghosted, which prompts Ashley to establish a few boundaries. Ghosting is always an interesting conversation here on IDGI. We always enjoy listener stories on this subject. We end the episode discussing, as all ladies do. Brad Pitt.  IDGI Listener Updates You can't look straight into the sun. Jared goes out for hard ice cream alone. Ep 287EP287: Vending Machines, Curly Fries & The Icky Experience

Has there ever been a better ramble episode? Following a very serious discussion to establish the few canned fizzy drinks you can actually drink fast, the ladies take a trip back down memory lane sharing their thoughts on "Vending machine foods of the 80s and 90s". What was your ultimate favorite food of your childhood? (Tweet @ us with your favorites!). Then the ladies embrace the natural segue into skin care products, and discuss the celebrity "slap my name on it" culture of today. Lauren then shares the sad story of when her mom forgot about her. Not years ago. It was yesterday, when ordering Pizza. Naz then poses the age-old question to Lauren and Ashley: "Which shaped and seasoned fries do you like best?" Why are curly fries not everywhere? Naz thinks EVERYTHING should come with a pickle. Are you a Night Owl, do you ever find yourself needing a coffee at 8:35pm? We think coffee shops might want to consider staying open later. Ep 286EP286: Everything Postpartum

This week, the ladies are talking all things postpartum with their incredible guest Dr. Mary Simpson. Dr. Simpson has been an OB-GYN for almost twenty years. Now, she runs Seamist Medspa, and she has so much knowledge to share! Dr. Simpson discusses the difference between ultrasound therapy and EMSculpt, which uses specific radio frequencies and magnets to help build muscle and burn fat. (Ashley swears by it!) But Dr. Simpson isn’t just here to talk about getting your body back. In fact, she believes getting your “pre-baby body back” is a myth and that you should focus on getting back to your “best self” instead. Dr. Simpson and the I Don’t Get It ladies talk about the surprising things that happen when you’re pregnant and the things no one tells you to expect when you’re pregnant. They talk about the difference between “baby blues” and postpartum depression, the pressure women face to breastfeed, and even get into what happens to your sexlife, postpartum. Oh, and Naz unveils her idea for a postpartum retreat that Dr. Simpson calls “very L.A.”This is a really honest and special conversation. Don’t miss it!Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comCheck out Seamist Medspa and all of the incredible work Dr. Simpson is doing there @seamistmedspa_ Get 10% off your first month of BetterHelp at https://www.betterhelp.com/getitSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 285EP285: Dating Younger Men, Pete Davidson's "Ladder" & Ice Cream Snobbery

Another hilariously relatable ramble episode, full of things we don't get, don't understand, and simply get frustrated by. Do you hate water dripping down your wrists when you wash your face? Apparently some people wear wristbands! What do you do if someone takes too long in a public restroom? There's so many IDGI's on the subject of Airplanes, Airports and AirTravel. Do you know how television networks track their viewers? Lauren doesn't get how Pete Davidson's manhood is a broken folding ladder (in a recent dream). Naz shares an interesting new dating trend. Old is old, and young is new. Have you tried dating younger? Who knew the topic of wine being a "Personality" would be so complex. Social norm conversation brings up the subject of potential societal Ice Cream snobbery. Would you go for hard Ice Cream alone? Listen to find out whether you're a snob or not.
