Culturally we have a rather resilient and defiant idea of happiness and fulfilment. We are conditioned to believe that getting everything we ever wanted, being recognised, worshipped or adored by everyone or by having the power or control over everything adds up to a kind of utopian endpoint. But how realistic is this? Inspired by some beautiful stories from Thursday's brilliant guest Jeff Foster, today's episode see’s Jonny exploring the limited idea that peace comes from satisfaction and that joy is a place of no challenge. Today Jonny looks at the suffering stemming from his own ‘perfectionist’ mindset and his futile attempts to realise his potential. How to sit with doubt, how to embrace desire, how to revere our crises moments, these could all be huge opportunities when it comes to engaging more fully in life and becoming more receptive to it.
