Navigating Parents’ Expectations of Your Career Choices

“Be a doctor or a lawyer,” they said. Growing up in Singapore, a tightly-regulated, structured city, many have been conditioned to make certain career choices based on our parents' rigid expectations of success. Oftentimes, those choices were carried out at the expense of one’s happiness. The pursuit of passion takes courage. So how can one break free from external factors that stop one from living vicariously?

In this episode Germaine, Azura, Hazelle and our invited guest - model turned singer-songwriter, Iman Fandi, tell us more about their career choices, their parents’ expectations and how they get to where they are today.
