Many tree dog enthusiasts yearn for the opportunity to hunt black bears over hounds, seeing it as the ultimate tree hound sport. Show Notes
Steve interviews Jerry Barker of Nancy, Kentucky, an experienced coon hunter for a play by play account of his first experience hunting bears with hounds. Steve and Jerry have a great discussion on bear hunting methods, the hounds and the culture within the mountain bear hunting groups. It’s an interesting conversation that any hound person is sure to enjoy. Jerry is one of the good guys in the hound sport and it shows in his relaxed and comfortable conversation style. This is a good one to just kick back and let the dog talk flow.
