Show Notes
Steve invited Corey Gruver back to the Gone To The Dogs microphone, after a recent guest appearance, and the two seasoned contributors tackle the question, “Are coon hunting magazines relevant today?” Gruver will be working with the revived publication and reveals some of the mission planned for the periodical going forward.
The discussion begins with news of Gruver’s newest project, training his first Plott female. Steve’s experience with the breed spanning seventy years, and Gruver’s recent experiences including treeing a black bear, make for interesting banter involving the brindle breed.
Steve finishes the episode by sharing an article his father, Homon Fielder had published in Full Cry in 1971, fifty-two years ago. There’s something for everyone in this episode and especially purists that thrill to the sound of the pack at full cry.
