The Negro Republican Party, emerging in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was an African-American-led political movement within the broader Republican Party. Formed in response to the marginalization of Black voices by the mainstream party, particularly due to the Lily White Movement, it aimed to assert African American political power and advocate for civil rights. Its members were instrumental in fighting for racial equality, pushing for anti-lynching legislation, and promoting the inclusion of African Americans in political processes.
