Horses are powerful animals but there is a limit to how much weight they can carry on their backs. Despite extensive studies, this is still a heated debate and different arguments are put forth. Fact is, horses were not meant to carry people on their backs so we need to prepare and train them for this task. Burdening them with excessive weight for a long time can lead to damage of their tendons, bones and joints. What is too much weight and how can be help our horses carry us?
